Research Trends on Librarians' Behaviors in Korea

사서행태의 연구 동향

The purpose of this study was to identify research trends on librarians' behaviors(LB) in Korea. 163 papers were selected in four representative journals published in Korean LIS, 1970-2015. The papers were analyzed in terms of period, journal, theme, purpose of research, research method, areas, type of author. The findings are as follows. 1) LB of University library were 28.8% and then that of public library were 26.9%. 2) Organizational behaviors of librarians were 52.7%, and then work behaviors were 31.9%. 3) Purposes of research were to examine librarians' perception (52.7%) and then to improve of current state of libraries(41.1%). 4) Quantitative research method was heavily found(82.2%). 5) Research purpose on LB of University library was related to identify perception of librarians, and that of Public library was related to improve current state of libraries. It discussed four strategies for sustaining growth of LB study aspect of research subject, research purpose, research method, and editorial strategies of four journals.

본 연구는 사서행태에 관한 국내 연구동향을 분석하여 지향점과 시사점을 모색하는 첫 번째 시도이다. 문헌정보학을 대표하는 4개 학술지의 창간호부터 2015년까지 총 163편(3.3%)의 논문을 선별하였다. 분석준거는 연도 및 시기, 학술지, 주제, 연구목적, 연구방법, 대상지역, 연구자유형이다. 분석결과, 1) 대학도서관 사서행태가 28.8%이며, 공공도서관 사서행태가 26.9% 이었다. 2) 조직행태에 관한 논문이 53.9%이며, 업무행태에 관한 논문은 31.9% 이었다. 3) 사서행태 논문의 연구목적은 관련 현상의 인식 규명이 52.7%이며, 관련 현상의 현황 및 개선은 41.1% 이었다. 4) 양적 연구방법이 매우 우세하였다(82.2%) 5) 대학도서관 사서행태 논의는 사서들의 관련 현상에 관한 인식을 파악하고자 하는 연구목적과 관련이 있었다. 반면에, 공공도서관과 학교도서관 사서(교사)행태는 관련 현상의 실제적 현황과 개선을 연구 목적으로 하는 것과 관련이 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 6) 연구자유형은 교수가 참여한 연구가 84.0%이며, 사서가 참여한 연구는 26.3%였다. 사서행태연구의 지속적 발전을 위하여 연구의 수행주체, 연구목적, 연구방법, 학술지 특화전략을 논하였다.
