A study on the Lee Sung-Seon's poetry in cognitive poetics

이성선 시의 인지시학적 연구

This thesis examines the cognitive systems and imaginativestructures of Lee Sung-Seon's poetry by quoting the methodology ofcognitive poetry. As a result, his poetry disclosed some methodology ofcognitive poetics.Lee Sung-Seon's poetry focuses on the introspection first and thenthe existence imperfect and born with tragic and imperfect fate. Hispoetry also dreams the celestial perfection ideally. Therefore, LeeSung-Seon's poetry shows that human beings are dream of traveling inthe space and sky through life of ground. On the other hand, acategorization by dualistic cognition model and family resemblance is afundamental cognitive system of Lee Sung-Seon's poetry.His poetry introduces serious introspection repeatedly about the worldthat human beings are in. The world which is a place for beings canlive and dream, illustrated by the various views. However, the world ofLee Sung-Seon’s poetry mostly forms nature space. This space exhibitcharacteristic of both abstract and aesthetic, for example, LeeSung-Seon's poetry that aim for the ideal world follow an adaptation orreconciliation with the real world.Lee Sung-Seon's poetry symbolizing cosmological world view thatcognize the life and the world as a massive chain. 'A Greate chain of existence' indicates kinds of cultural model about characters and types.His poetry understands the world as dualistic point of view. However,the world that Lee Sung-Seon hopes is a cosmological stage that leadsto a confluence of the nature and the beings. Thus, Lee Sung-Seondreams of a life that follows the laws of nature and the cosmic order.

본고는 이성선 시에 인지시학적 방법론을 원용하여 인지체계와 상상력의 구조를 고찰하였다. 먼저 이성선 시는 자아 존재에 대한 성찰에 몰두한다. 그 결과 존재는 불완전하고 비극적인 운명을 지니고 태어난다. 그러나 이상적인 천상의 완전을 꿈꾸는 존재이기도 하다. 그리하여 이성선 시에는 인간 존재가 지상에서의 삶을 통해 결국은 하늘과 우주로의 상승을 꿈꾸는 원심적 상승의 인지 도식이 드러난다. 한편 이원론적 인지모델과 가족적 유사성에 의한 범주화는 이성선 시의 핵심적인 인지체계이다. 이성선 시는 인간 존재가 몸담고 있는 세계에 대하여도 반복하여 진지한 성찰을 진행한다. 즉 존재가 생존하고 꿈꾸는 공간이자 장소인 이 세계는 다양한 모습으로 형상화 되고 있다. 그런데 이성선 시에 구축된 세계의 모습은 대체로 자연의 공간으로 드러나고 있다. 그 자연 공간은 추상적이며 유미적으로 인지되는 특성을 보인다. 예컨대 이상세계를 지향하는 이성선 시는 현실세계에 순응하거나 현실과의 화해를 추구한다. 이성선 시는 삶과 세계를 거대한 연쇄로 인지하는 우주론적 세계관을 형상화 하고 있다. ‘존재의 거대한 연쇄’란 존재의 종류와 특성에 관한 일종의 문화모델이다. 이성선 시는 세계를 이원론적 관점으로 파악한다. 그러나 그가 희구하고 소망하는 세계는 존재가 자연과 동화 혹은 합일에 이르는 범우주론적 경지이다. 즉 이성선 시인은 자연의 순리에 순응하는 삶, 우주 질서에 동일화되는 인생을 꿈꾼다.
