Abstract

The innovative designer and structural engineer, Cecil Balmond is co-representative of Ove Arup and has been co-worked with world famous architects and has been influenced so much on architectural thinking. These days he extended his career as an architect. Balmond suggests that disordered-looking components of the World is actually composed of several ordered and layered structures and also stresses that it makes non-linear layering and folding patterns and amplifies into inumerable vectors. Finally, it reaches to the macroscopic stable condition with each other with the Ring(looping) structures. The Ring is circulationg from interior to exterior which is similar with Deleuzian concept that the Smooth and the Striated is circulationg mutually. Seamless flight line would be ceaseless creative Virtual process to Actual and again, Actual to Virtual. In his thinking, This pattern process are composed of 3 steps of region, layer and compatibility. And this process is similar with that of overtone, chord and tempo in music. His concept is not just staying to observe the structural phenomenon but he himself makes coherent concept appliying architectural structure and finally gives lot of lesson from in it.
