Asian body and Others ethics

오리엔탈리즘적 메커니즘은 서양 문화에 있는 부정적인 측면을 모두 아시아적인 것으로 간주하는 기제로 작동했다. 아시아나 아프리카는 서양의 타자이면서 이방인이다. 이런 타자는 분노의 대상으로 이해되면서 동시에 불안정한 구성원의 자격이나 불안함, 취약함, 오점으로 특징짓는다. 아시아적인 삶은 넘쳐나는 잉여로서 ‘쓰레기 같은 삶’의 전형, 벌거벗은 생명, 호모 사케르가 된다. 아시아인은 머리가 나쁘고 쓸모없으며 게으르고 지저분한 이미지로 스스로를 인식함은 서양인에 의해 만들어진 가치 기준에 의해서 열등함으로 왜곡 확대하는 것이다. 이런 동양인은 열등하다는 의식은 결국 탈중심화로 이어지며 자신의 타자화에 의해서 타자의 타자화로 연결된다. 아시아인으로서의 억압받는 신체는 자신의 생명뿐만 아니라 타인의 생명까지도 경시하는 ‘쓰레기 같은 삶’ 혹은 ‘벌거벗은 생명’을 자초하는 타자화를 그대로 드러낸다.『삶은 어디에』와『어둠의 아이들』은 아시아적 신체가 어떻게 타자화되며, 호모 사케르가 되어가는가를 잘 보여주는 작품이다. 실지 일본의 NGO의 단체의 자료를 바탕으로 작품화한『어둠의 아이들』은 전지구적 자본주의의 확산으로, 국가가 독점하는 합법적 폭력, 자본주의의 초과착취 등 구조적 폭력이 그 중심에 있다. 그러한 구조적 폭력 아래 대상화된 헐벗고 굶주린 길거리 버려진 아이들은 인간도 짐승도 아닌 추방된 자이다. 인간과 짐승 사이 비식별역, 늑대인간 즉 늑대로 변한 인간이자 인간으로 변한 늑대이다. 이런 예외 상태는 국가의 위기 상태,『삶은 어디에』에서처럼 북한의 1990년대 ‘고난의 행군’이라는 명목 아래 짐승과 같은 죽음조차 불사해야하는 상태나『어둠의 아이들』의 배경이 되는 국가의 법이나 권력이 미치지 못하는 국경 지역에서 일어난다. 북한이라는 체제 자체 내에 인민의 살해 가능성을 현실적으로 작품화 시킨 것이 바로『삶은 어디에』이다. 북한은 국가 사회주의 하의 통치방법을 통해 사적인 것으로 간주되던 생명에 이르기까지 모든 것을 정치화한다. 두 작품에서 인물들은 죽음의 소도구일 뿐이다.

Mechanism of orientalism was operated with a basis concept whichconsiders negative aspects of Western culture as Asian. Asia and Africawere the others and heathens. I understand the other at the same timeas the target of the anger of the members of an unstable status orrestlessness, vulnerable, characterizes as stains. Asian life seemed to betoo much surplus of life like 'life of garbage'.The image of the Asians which considers them stupid, useless, lazyand filthy is made by the Western people's standards and made theAsians more inferior. The idea which the Asians are inferior was leadedto push them out of the center of the world and made the Asianstotally different kind of people. The people being suppressed as Asianstended to ignore their own lives and even others' lives which eventuallyleaded to lives like garbage and naked lives.『Where is life?』and『Children of darkness』 well show how those Asians become others ofthe world and Homo Sacer.『Children of darkness』is based on real materials from a JapaneseNGO. Those Asian Children is under violence from nation andcapitalism and vanished from the society. They are neither human oranimals but also they are human kind changed from wolf or wolfchanged from human kind.This kind of situation is shown in borders of nations which theyhave to face deaths like animals which is shown in『Where is life?』,that describes North Korea in 1990 or in『Children of darkness』.『Where is life?』 shows how those people get killed under their social system in reality. North Korea even controls life of human kind politicalunder their socialism. Characters in the two pieces are only the littletools of death.
