Abstract
In recent, the enhancement of guide signs system for expressway were studied. And newly suggested signs in that research show left-right bilingual (Korean/English) configuration of 2 destinations whereas existing signs showed top-bottom configuration. However the new configuration have not been evaluated with discreet examination. In this study, several bilingual configuration designs are developed and evaluated with human factors experiment. Therefore the design with the shortest legibility time were chosen as a best design. As a result, the fact that the change of Korean/English configuration shows different results of the legibility time was confirmed. The guide sign with left-right bilingual (Korean/English) configuration of 2 destinations showed less legibility time than that of the existing signs with top-bottom configuration.
최근 고속도로의 안내체계 개선에 대한 연구가 진행되어 기존 안내표지에 2개의 지명이 표기될 때는 국문과 영문의 배치가 상하로 배치되어 있었으나, 개선안으로 제시된 표지에서는 국문과 영문을 좌우로 배치하는 방안을 제안하였다. 하지만 국문과 영문의 배치에 대한 검증이 심도 있게 다루어 지지 못하였으므로 본 연구에서는 국 영문 배치에 따른 표지안을 작성하고 이에 대한 인간공학적인 실험을 실시한 후 어떻게 국문과 영문을 배치하는 것이 가장 빠른 시간 내에 판독이 가능한 지에 대한 결과를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구의 실험결과 국 영문의 배치의 변경만으로도 판독소요시간의 차이가 나타날 수 있다는 사실을 확인하였다. 기존 도로표지규칙에 의해 고속도로 안내표지의 문안 중 국문과 영문을 일렬의 행으로 상하로 배치하는 것보다 고속도로 표지개선안과 같이 한 지명에 대한 국문과 영문을 좌우로 배치하고, 두 번째 지명에 대한 국문과 영문을 그 하단부에 좌우로 배치하는 것이 보다 빠른 시간 내에 판독이 가능한 것으로 나타났다.
