Abstract
Ramie fabrics were treated with liquid ammonia($NH_{3}$), $NaOH/NH_{3}$, and then processed with cellulase. The liquid NH\ulcorner treated ramie fabric was also processed with hot water at 10$0^{\circ}C$ and 13$0^{\circ}C$. X-ray diffraction, moisture. regain, water absorption, dyeing rate, equilibrium dye uptake, washing shrinkage, crease resistance, KES shearing properties, and tensile properties were measured. The crystal lattice was transformed from cellulose I crystals to cellulose III crystals by NH\ulcorner and $NaOH/NH_{3}$ treatments. Crystallinity decreased on $NH_{3}$ and $NaOH/NH_{3}$ treatments, and increased tensile strength. Especially, the fabric treated with $NH_{3}$ alone showed excellent dimensional stability. KES shear modulus G, shear hysteresis 2HG and 2HG5 decreased on NH\ulcorner and NhOH/NH\ulcorner treatments and cellulase treatment after this pre-treatment.
