Low Temperature Radical Solution Polymerization of Vinyl Acetate, Initiated by Benzoyl Peroxide-N, N-dimethylaniline in Methanol

초록

Synthesis of high molecular weight poly9vinyl acetate) with less branched structure has been attempted by solution polymerization of vinyl acetate in methanol at $0^{\circ}C$ using a redox pair of benzoylperoxide-N, N-dimethyl aniline. Although the rate of polymerization is low at this temperature, ply9vinyl acetate) having maximum degree of polymerization of 2800 with degree of branching of 0.125 at 100% conversion was obtained.
