Abstract
The egg development and morphological changes of larvae of the file fish, Thamnaconus modestus(Gunther), was investigated by artificial insemination. The fertilized egg was spherical in shape, colorless and adhesive with 0.63~0.67mm in diameter and yolk had 20~30 oil globules of various size (0.04~0.16 mm in diameter).
