Not only the infomatmn seeking bellavmr or acadenuc sources by social scientists was analyzed bnt its eiieclive usmg method was also presented in this paper. For thc purpose, the questionnaires were prepared md admmislered lo social sacnilsin who are the profcsso~s oi a large unlverslty m Taegu, Korea. and the survey for tiler academic environment and its sateiaclion, characterislics, inforn~ahon seeking behavior of academic sources, etc. was conducted. Also, iheir research mlercsts and period, informauon s e e h g behav~or and its dfficulties, reineval melhods, and uslng rrequcncies of current issues elc. were analyzed in lliis paper. 본 논문은 사회과학자들의 학술정보원 이용행태를 분석하고 이에 따른 효과적인 학술정보원의 이용방법을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 현재 한 대도시의 대학에 재직중인 사회과학관련 전공의 교수들을 대상으로 응답자의 연구환경에 대한 만족도, 특성 및 연구자료의 이용행태 등을 설문조사하여 응답자의 주 연구분야, 직위, 대학재직기간, 연구기간에 따른 자료수집기간과 방법, 자료수집의 난이도 및 검색방법의 선호도, 자료수집 소요기간, 최신자료의 이용률 등을 분석하였다. 사화과학도들이 학술정보원을 이용할 때, 이를 위한 미래 연구과제 및 제언도 서술하였다.
