Abstract
Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD1) is a protective enzyme responsible for the dismutat ion of superoxide radicals within the cell by converting superoxide radicals to oxygen and hydrogen peroxide, which is in turn changed to oxygen and water by catalase.
