Abstract
A low density polyethylene(LDPE) was examined as an additive in phenol-formaldehyde(PF) resin adhesive for bonding radiata pine plywood. The LDPE was supplied by the commercial manufacturer. The LDPE was compared to a commercial filler commonly used in structural plywood adhesives in the United States. The adhesive mixes were made by following the recommended procedure of Georgia-Pacific Resins Inc.. using plywood-type PF resin.
