Abstract
To find out the influence of different rice varieties on the emission of methane in the soil and the exudation of carbohydrates from root, the experiment was conducted on a fine silty, mesic family of Aeric Fluventinc Haplaquepts (Jeonbug series). The varities of rise involved one early maturing variety of Japonica type(namweon) and three mid-to-late maturing varieties of Japonica type and one mid-to-late variety of Indica
