Synthesis of $({\pm})-trans-6-[2-(benzotriazolyl)ethyl]tetrahydro-4-hydroxy-2H-pyran-2-ones$ as Potential HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors

Abstract
New hypolipaemic agents, in which benzotriazole moiety is connected to tetrahydro-4-hydroxy-2H-pyran-2-one by a two-carbon bridge, were designed and synthesized to show sinificant cholesterol-lowering effect comparable to mevinolin.
