선박 조종 시뮬레이션을 통한 스마트폰 사용이 항행안전에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

신(2015) 등이 발표한 선박 당직 중 스마트폰 사용이 당직수행에 미치는 영향에 관한 선행연구에서 설문조사를 통해 선박에서 스마트폰을 사용할 수 있는 환경(항해 중 36%)이 마련되었음을 확인하였고, 항해사들의 위험도 조사 설문에서 스마트폰 사용이 사용 전보다 약 2배 위험하다고 분석되었다. 본 연구는 일정기간 항해사로 승선 경험을 가진 자들을 실험 대상자로 시뮬레이션을 실시하여 해상교통안전진단상 선박 조종 시뮬레이션 평가 분석 항목인 선박의 근접도 평가, 선박의 제어도 평가, 조종자의 주관적 평가를 기초로 스마트폰의 사용이 항행안전에 미치는 위험도를 평가하였다. 또한 스마트폰 사용 유무에 따른 위험 상황 인지 시간을 측정하여 스마트폰의 위험성을 정량적으로 나타내었다.
