In this wort. the effect of anodic oxidation on surface characteristics of high strength PAN-based carbon fibers is investigated in terms of surface and mechanical interfacial properties of the composites. As a result, the acidity of carbon fiber surfaces is increased, due to the development of oxygen functional groups in the presence of anodic oxidation.
