Abstract

This paper deals with the characteristic analysis of a brushless permanent magnet d.c. motor. The rotor has ring-type permanent magnet magnetized by a capacitor discharge magnetizer with multi-pole fixture. Torque and current characteristics are analyzed by the time-stepped finite element method. And then the results are compared with experimental values.
