In this paper, we focus on optimization of a boron ($^{11}B$)-implanted n type Si epi substrate for obtaining near-zero temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) at temperature range from 25 to $125^{\circ}C$. The $^{11}B$-implantation on the N type-Si epi substrate formed isolation from the rest of the N-type Si by the depletion region of a PN junction. The TCR increased as the temperature of rapid thermal anneal (RTA) was increased at the temperature range from $900^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$ for the $p^+$ contact with implantation at dose of $1E16/cm^2$, but sheet resistance of this film was decreased. After the optimization of anneal process condition, the TCR of $1126.7{\pm}30.3$ (ppm/K) was obtained for the $p^-$ resistor-COB package chips contained $p^+$ contact with the implantation of $5E14/cm^2$. This shows the potential of the $^{11}B$-implanted n type Si epi substrate as a resistor for pressure sensor in thermal stable environment applications..
Identifying structural modal parameters, especially those modes within high frequency range, from ambient data is still a challenging problem due to various kinds of uncertainty involved in vibration measurements. A procedure applying an ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) method is proposed for accurate and robust structural modal identification. In the proposed method, the EEMD process is first implemented to decompose the original ambient data to a set of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs), which are zero-mean time series with energy in narrow frequency bands. Subsequently, a Sub-PolyMAX method is performed in narrow frequency bands by using IMFs as primary data for structural modal identification. The merit of the proposed method is that it performs structural identification in narrow frequency bands (take IMFs as primary data), unlike the traditional method in the whole frequency space (take original measurements as primary data), thus it produces more accurate identification results. A numerical example and a multiple-span continuous steel bridge have been investigated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Three different methods were employed to measure the degree of aerial oxidation in coal and the resulting oxidation/weathering indices were applied to obtain kinetic parameters of aerial oxidation processes, The index (i.e., slurry pH, Free Swelling Index, weight gain) values were subjected to kinetic analysis based on power-law Arrhenius type reaction model. The results show that activation energy of the aerial oxidation in 20-29$0^{\circ}C$ is in the range of 12-16 ㎉/㏖ and the agreement among three techniques is remarkable. The first order kinetic model is suitable in describing low temperature aerial oxidation process, except in the FSI case where the zero order expression is the best one.
This paper describes a rectification procedure that relies on a polynomial model derived from the imaging geometry without loss of accuracy. By using polynomial model, one can effectively eliminate the iterative process to find an image pixel corresponding to each output grid point. With the imaging geometry and ephemeris data, a geo-location polynomial can be constructed from grid points that are produced by solving three equations simultaneously. And, in order to correct the local distortions induced by the geometry and terrain height, a distortion model has been incorporated in the procedure, which is a function of incidence angle and height at each pixel position. With this function, it is straightforward to calculate the pixel displacement due to distortions and then pixels are assigned to the output grid by re-sampling the displaced pixels. Most of the necessary information for the construction of polynomial model is available in the leader file and some can be derived from others. For validation, sample images of ERS-l PRI and Radarsat-l SGF have been processed by the proposed method and evaluated against ground truth acquired from 1:25,000 topography maps.
This paper presents a mathematical model suitable for the calculation of laminated glass, i.e. glass plates combined with an interlayer material. The model is based on a beam differential equation for each glass plate and a separate differential equation for the slip in the interlayer. In addition to slip, the model takes into account prestressing force in the interlayer. It is possible to combine the two contributions arbitrarily, which is important because the glass sheet fabrication process changes the stiffness of the interlayer in ways that are not easily predictable and could introduce prestressing of varying magnitude. The model is suitable for reformulation into an inverse procedure for calculation of the relevant parameters. Model consisting of a system of differential-algebraic equations, proved too stiff for cases with the thin interlayer. This novel approach covers the full range of possible stiffnesses of layered glass sheets, i.e., from zero to infinite stiffness of the interlayer. The comparison of numerical and experimental results contributes to the validation of the model.

An effectively designed budget system in the poor resources environment necessarily has three design criteria : (i) to be both planning-oriented and control-oriented, (ii) to be both rationalistic and realistic, (iii) to be sensitive to the variations of resources environment. PPB system is an extreme (planning-oriented and rationalistic) and conventional OEB/OUB system is the other extreme (control-oriented and incrementalistic). Generally, the merits of rationalism are limited because of the infeasibility of applications. Hence, mixtures of the two extremes such as MBO, ZBB, and RZBB have been examined and applied during the last decade. The classical mathematical models of capital budgeting are the starting points of the development of the Budget-Mix Model introduced in this paper. They are modified by the followings: (i) technological-resource constraints, (ii) bounded-variable constraint, (iii) the exchange rules. Special emphasis is laid on the above (iii), because we need more efficient interresource exchanges in the budget-mix process. The Budget-Mix Model is not based on optimization, but a heuristic approach which assures a satisficing solution. And the application fields of this model range between the incremental Nonzero-Base Budgeting and the rational Zero-Base Budgeting. In this thesis, the author suggests 'the budget- mix concept' and a budget-mix model. Budget-mix is a decision process of making program-mix and resource-mix together. For keeping this concept in the existing organization realistic, we need the development of quantitative models describing budget-mix situations.

Lithium titanium oxide as anode material for energy storage prepared by novel synthesis method. Li$_{4}$Ti$_{5}$O$_{12}$ based spinel-framework structures are of great interest material for lithium-ion batteries. We describe here Li$_{4}$Ti$_{5}$O$_{12}$ a zero-strain insertion material was prepared by novel sol-gel method and by high energy ball milling (HEBM) of precursor to from nanocrystalline phases. According to the X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analysis, uniformly distributed Li$_{4}$ Ti$_{5}$O$_{12}$ particles with grain sizes of 100nm were synthesized. Lithium cells, consisting of Li$_{4}$ Ti$_{5}$O$_{12}$ anode and lithium cathode showed the 173 mAh/g in the range of 1.0 $\~$ 3.0 V. Furthermore, the crystalline structure of Li$_{4}$ Ti$_{5}$O$_{12}$ didn't transform during the lithium intercalation and deintercalation process.
The lignocellulose-based dried watermelon rind (WR) was modified with sulfuric acid, namely SWR for enhancement of methylene blue (MB) adsorption from the aqueous solution. According to FT-IR analysis, after the modification of WR with sulfuric acid, the functional groups of R-SO3H, COOH and -OH groups was formated or enhanced on the surface of the WR. Moreover, the point of zero charge (pHpzc) was changed from 6.3 to 4.1 after modification, which widened the range for adsorbing of cationic dye MB. The adsorption process of MB onto the SWR was suitable for pseudo-2nd-order and Langmuir model and the maximum adsorption capacity of Langmuir was found to be 334.45 mg/g at pH 7. In adition, the adsorption process occurs through the electrostatic interaction, hydrogen bridge formation, electron donor-acceptor relationship, and 𝜋-𝜋 electron dispersing force between functional groups on the carbon surface with MB molecules. Depending on functional groups available on the SWR surface, the MB adsorption mechanism can occur in combination with various interactions.

In product design and manufacturing, axiomatic design provides a systematic approach for the decision-making process. Two axioms have been defined such as the Independence Axiom and the Information Axiom. The Information Axiom states that the best design among those that satisfy the independence axiom is the one with the least information content. In other words, the best design is the one that has the highest probability of success. On the other hand, the Taguchi robust design is used in the two-step process; one is "reduce variability," and the other is "adjust the mean on the target." The two-step can be interpreted as a problem that has two FRs (functional requirements). Therefore, the Taguchi method should be used based on the satisfaction of the Independence Axiom. Common aspects exist between the Taguchi method and Axiomatic Design in that a robust design is induced. However, different characteristics are found as well. The Taguchi method does not have the design range, and the probability of success may not be enough to express robustness. Our purpose is to find the one that has the highest probability of success and the smallest variation. A new index is proposed to satisfy these conditions. The index is defined by multiplication of the robustness weight function and the probability density function. The robustness weight function has the maximum at the target value and zero at the boundary of the design range. The validity of the index is proved through various examples.gh various examples.
Infrared radiation (IR) refers to the region of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum where wavelengths range from about 700 nm to 1 mm. Any object with a temperature above absolute zero (0 K) radiates in the infrared region, and a material that transmits radiant energy in the range of 0.74 to 1.4 um is referred to as a near-infrared optical material. Germanate-based glass is attracting attention as a glass material for infrared optical lenses because of its simple manufacturing process. With the recent development of the glass molding press (GMP) process, thermal imaging cameras using oxide-based infrared lenses can be easily mass-produced, expanding their uses. To improve the mechanical and optical properties of commercial materials consisting of ternary systems, germanate-based heavy metal oxide glasses were prepared using a melt-cooling method. The fabricated samples were evaluated for thermal, structural, and optical properties using DSC, XRD, and XRF, respectively. To derive a composition with high glass stability for lens applications, ZnO and Sb2O3 were substituted at 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 mol%. The glass with 1 mol% added Sb2O3 was confirmed to have the optimal conditions, with an optical transmittance of 80 % or more, a glass transition temperature of 660 ℃, a refractive index of 1.810, and a Vickers hardness of 558. The possibility of its application as an alternative infrared lens material to existing commercial materials capable of GMP processing was confirmed.
