Hedgehog Seahorse (Hippocampus spinosissimus)의 산출습성 및 형태발달 (Morphological Development and Reproductive Behavior of Hedgehog Seahorse Hippocampus spinosissimus (Teleostei: Syngnathidae))

  • This study described the reproductive behavior and the morphological development of the larvae and juvenile of the hedgehog seahorse (Hippocampus spinosissimus). Larvae released from male seahorse were reared for 30 days in the laboratory. At the birth, the small flap-like mouth and anus of the yolk-sac larvae were open, and the yolk was completely absorbed within 1 day. The size of newborn larvae ranged 7.01-13.19mm (mean $9.26\pm1.9mm$, n=9) in TL (total length). The larvae had 15-16 pectoral fin rays and 19 dorsal fin rays, but 4 anal fin rays were not completely developed. The larval size ranged 13.38-14.38 mm (mean $13.96\pm0.3mm$, n=6) in TL at 1 day after release, and they had 17 pectoral fin rays, 20 dorsal fin rays and 4 anal fin rays when the larvae reached the juvenile stage. Juvenile size ranged 14.98-16.42mm (mean $15.84\pm0.5mm$, n=5) in TL at 3 days after release, and 1, 4, 6, 8 trunk spines extended quickly. Terminal part of the coronet became a four-forked wedge shape concurrently. Juvenile became 23.25mm (n=l) in TL after 15 days and all 11 trunk rings was connected completely. After 20 days, the juveniles were 24.66-28.65mm (mean $27.26\pm1.6mm$, n=5) in TL, and many melanophores appeared in integument. In the eye lenses, 5-6 lusters were formed. After 30 days, the juveniles were 26.78-28.26 mm (mean $27.36\pm0mm$, n=4)in TL and 8-9 lusters appeared on the eye lenses. Coronet terminal part developed to a five-forked crown-shape completely.

산란계에 있어 생균제의 첨가가 계란품질 및 배설물내 유해가스 함량에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Probiotics Supplementation on Egg Quality and Excretal Noxious Gas in Laying Hens)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 생균제를 산란계에 급여하였을 때 계란품질 및 배설물내 암모니아태 질소 함량에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 실시하였다. 사양시험은 36주령 ISA brown 산란계 144수를 공시하였으며, 처리구로는 옥수수-대두박 기초 사료구(Con; basal diet), 기초 사료구에 생균제를 0.3%(PB0.3; basal diet + 0.3% probiotics)와 0.6%(PB0.6; basal diet + 0.6% probiotics) 첨가한 구로 구성되었다. 총 28일간의 사양시험 기간동안, 산란율, 난중 그리고 난각 강도에 있어서는 처리간에 차이는 있었지만 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다(P$>$0.05). 난각의 두께에 있어서는 PB0.6 처리구가 유의적으로 높게 평가되었다(linear effect, P$<$0.01). 난황색에 있어서는 생균제를 첨가함에 따라 대조구와 비교하여 통계적으로 높게 평가되었으며(linear effect, P$<$0.02), 난황계수에 있어서도 생균제를 첨가함에 따라 개선되는 경향을 나타내었다(linear effect, P$<$0.04). 배설물내 암모니아태 질소 함량에 있어서는 PB0.6 처리구가 다른 처리구와 비교하여 유의적으로 낮게 평가되었다(linear effect, P$<$0.04). 결론적으로, 산란계 사료내 생균제의 첨가가 난각두께, 난황색 및 난황계수를 증가시키는 것으로 사료되며, 배설물내 암모니아태 질소 함량을 감소시킴을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구는 왜매치의 초기생활사를 밝히기 위해 충청남도 당진시 서원천에서 성어를 채집하여 인공수정을 통해 수행하였다. 왜매치 암컷의 산란량은 1,225~2,100개(1,662±437개, n=10) 정도였다. 난의 형태는 원형으로 크기는 1.05~1.13(1.08±0.02, n=30) mm였다. 수정란은 수온 22℃에서 부화까지 72~80시간이 소요되었다. 부화 직후의 난황자어는 전장 2.10~2.23 (2.16±0.04, n =10) mm로 입과 항문은 열려 있지 않았고 난황을 가지고 있었다. 부화 후 5일째는 전장 3.29~3.45 (3.36±0.04, n=10) mm로 난황을 모두 흡수하였고 먹이를 섭취하면서 전기자어로 이행하였다. 부화 후 15일째는 전장 4.97~5.30 (5.13±0.12, n=10) mm로 척추 끝부분이 상단으로 휘어지기 시작하면서 중기자어로 이행하였다. 부화 후 25일째는 전장 8.97~9.60 (9.44±0.16, n=10) mm로 꼬리지느러미 말단 끝부분이 45°로 완전히 휘어지면서 후기자어로 이행하였다. 부화 후 35일째는 전장 12.0~13.5 (12.7±0.53, n=10) mm로 각 부위별 지느러미 기조 수(등지느러미 iii 7개, 뒷지느러미 iii 6개, 배지느러미 i 7개)가 정수로 도달하면서 치어기로 이행하였다.

영덕오십천 소하천인 대서천에 서식하는 자가사리 Liobagrus mediadiposalis의 자치어 형태발달 (Development of Larvae and Juveniles of the Liobagrus mediadiposalis from Daeseocheon Stream in Yeongdukosipcheon)

  • 본 연구에 사용된 시료는 2021년 4월 21일과 5월 16일 2회에 걸쳐 경북 영덕군에 위치한 대서천에서 자가사리와 난괴를 채집하였다. 수정란 크기는 3.30~3.92 (3.57±0.19) mm (n=30)였고, 수온 17.0~20.0℃에서 부화까지 소요된 시간은 152~155시간이었다. 부화 직후 자어는 전장 6.43~6.67 (평균 6.55±0.07) mm (n=30)로 입과 항문은 완전히 열리지 않았고, 난황을 가지고 있었다. 부화 후 9일째 후기자어는 전장 11.0~13.8 (12.3±0.70) mm (n=30)로 꼬리 끝의 미부봉상골이 위쪽을 향해 45°로 완전히 휘어졌다. 부화 후 16일째 치어는 전장 15.8~18.2 (16.8±0.77) mm (n=30)로 지느러미 줄기 수는 등지느러미 8개, 뒷지느러미 17개, 배지느러미 8개로 정수에 도달하였다. 연구 결과 근연종들 간 초기생활사에서 부화자어 크기, 지느러미 반문형태 등에서 차이를 확인할 수 있었다.

황보천에 서식하는 꾹저구 Gymnogobius urotaenia의 난발생 및 자치어 형태발달 (Morphological of Development Eggs, Larvae and Juveniles Gymnogobius urotaenia in Hwangbocheon, Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 동해안 유입천인 황보천에 서식하는 꾹저구의 초기생활사를 규명하고 관찰한 결과를 같은 망둑어과 어류들과 차이점을 비교하였다. 2022년과 2023년 5월 2회에 걸쳐 황보천에서 바위 아래 산란된 수정란과 어미를 포획하였다. 산란량은 827~1,540개였고, 난은 장타원형으로 크기는 3.21×1.07 mm 였다. 연구실에서 관찰된 난발생 단계는 16세포기였고, 이후 193시간부터 부화가 시작되었다. 사육 수온 범위는 18.8~19.3 ℃였다. 부화 직후 난황자어는 전장 3.84~4.33 (평균 4.10±0.17, n=30) mm로 난황을 갖고 있었고, 항문은 열려 있지 않았다. 부화 6일째에는 전장 5.32~6.11(평균 5.67±0.25, n=30) mm로 난황을 모두 흡수하여 전기자어기로 이행하였고, 먹이를 섭취하였으며, 꼬리지느러미에 기조가 발달하였다. 부화 후 15일째에는 전장 7.33~8.52(평균 7.81±0.46, n=30) mm로 척색 말단 끝부분이 45 °로 완전히 휘어져 후기자어기로 이행하였고, 몸 전체에는 흑색소포가 발달하였다. 부화 후 38일째에는 전장 22.1~26.1(23.8±1.36, n=30) mm로 지느러미 기조 수는 제1등지느러미 6개, 제2등지느러미 11개, 뒷지느러미 11개, 배지느러미 12개로 모든 지느러미 기조 수가 정수가 되어 치어기로 이행하였다. 연구 결과 후기자어의 흑색소포는 몸통 절반과 꼬리 쪽 몸 전체 분포하는 점에서 다른 망둑어과 어류 후기자어들과 형태적인 구분이 가능하였다.

올리브기름, 카놀라기름 및 정어리기름의 급여가 계란의 지방산 조성 및 콜레스테롤 함량에 미치는 영향 (Dietary Olive Oil, Canola Oil, and Sardine Oil on Fatty Acids Composition and Cholesterol Contents in Eggs)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the influence of dietary olive oil, canola oil, or sardine oil on the fatty acids composition and cholesterol contents in eggs The experimental layers, 62~65 weeks of age, were randomly allotted to one of the four treatments; a) Control (commercial feed), b) T1 (commercial feed plus 10% olive oil), c) T2 (commercial feed plus 10% sardine oil), d) m (commercial feed plus 10% sardine oil) for 3 weeks. The egg samples were stored at 4${\pm}$1˚C for a certain period (1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 days) and analyzed for the fatty acids composition and cholesterol contents. The unsaturated fatty acid contents in the egg yolk were slightly decreased as the storage periods extended. The oleic acid content in T1 was the highest in all treatments. The linoleic and linolenic acid contents in T2 were higher than in the other treatments. The eicosahexaenoic acid (EPA), docosapentaenoic acid (DPA), and docosasahexaenoic acid ( DH A) contents in eggs from m were higher than the other treatments. The ratio of egg yolk n-6 /n-3 fatty acids contents in all treatments were slightly increased as the storage periods extended. The n-3 fatty acid contents of the egg yolk from T3 was the highest in all treatments. The cholesterol contents of the eggs were significantly decreased as the storage period extended(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in egg cholesterol content among all treatments.

Does supplementing laying hen diets with a herb mixture mitigate the negative impacts of excessive inclusion of extruded flaxseed?

  • Objective: This study investigated the effects of extruded flaxseed with and without herbs mixture on egg performance, yolk fatty acids (FAs), lipid components, blood biochemistry, serological enzymes, antioxidants, and immune system of Hy-Line W-36 hens for nine weeks. Methods: Two hundred forty laying hens were randomly distributed to eight treatments, resulting in six replicates with five hens. Graded levels of dietary extruded flaxseed (0, 90, 180, and 270 g/kg) with and without herbs mixture (24 g/kg: garlic, ginger, green tea, and turmeric 6 g/kg each) were designed as treatments. Results: The two-way analysis of variance indicated that hens fed herbs mixture had a higher value of egg production, yolk high-density lipoprotein (HDL), superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and white blood cell and lower contents of yolk cholesterol, glucose, and blood low-density lipoprotein than those fed diets without herb mixtures (p<0.05). The Flx27 (270 g/kg flaxseed) (153.5 g/kg n-3 FAs) and Flx27+H (270 g/kg flaxseed plus 24 g/kg herbs mixture) (150.5 g/kg n-3 FAs) groups were the most promising treatments in terms of yolk n-3 FAs content. In-teraction effect (herbs- flaxseed) for blood cholesterol, HDL, malondialdehyde, glutaredoxin, alanine transaminase, (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), haemoglobin and immune parameters was significant (p<0.05). The results showed layers fed herbs mixture (Flx9+H, Flx18+H, and Flx27+H) had a better value of total antibody, immunoglobulin M, immunoglobulin G, ALT, AST, and blood HDL as compared with representative flaxseed levels without herbs. Conclusion: High inclusion levels of extruded flaxseed (270 g/kg) without herbs to enrich eggs with n-3 appears to impair the antioxidant system, immunohematological parameters, and sero-logical enzymes. Interestingly, the herbs mixture supplementation corrected those effects. Therefore, feeding layers with flaxseed-rich diets (270 g/kg) and herbs mixture can be a promising strategy to enrich eggs with n-3 FAs.

  • 본 연구는 경북 낙동강에 서식하는 떡붕어의 초기생활사를 관찰하여 근연종과 차이점을 확인하기 위해 분류학적 기초자료를 확보하고자 하였다. 떡붕어 암컷의 산란량은 30,400~44,900개(37,650±7,250개) 정도였다. 난의 형태는 원형으로 크기는 1.24~1.37 mm (1.31±0.04 mm, n=30)였다. 수정란은 수온 21℃에서 부화까지 110시간이 소요되었다. 부화 직후의 난황자어는 전장 4.69~5.65 mm (5.15±0.31 mm, n=10)로 입과 항문은 열려있지 않았고 난황을 가지고 있었다. 부화 후 3일째 전기자어는 전장 6.27~6.70 mm (6.59±0.08 mm, n=10)로 난황 흡수가 완료되면서 먹이를 섭취하였다. 부화 후 10일째 후기자어는 전장 8.71~8.92 mm (8.81±0.07 mm, n=10)로 꼬리지느러미 말단 끝부분이 45°로 휘어졌다. 부화 후 42일째는 전장 15.1~16.8 mm (15.8±0.57 mm, n=10) 각 부위별 지느러미 기조 수(등지느러미 iii17개, 뒷지느러미 iii4개)가 정수로 도달하면서 치어기로 이행하였다.

Taurine Enrichment of Eggs with Feather Meal and Pyridoxine

  • The effects of dietary supplementation of feather meal (FM) and pyridoxine ($B_6$) on the taurine content of egg yolk and performance of laying hens were investigated. A feeding trial was conducted in nine hundred 31-wk-old $Hy-Line^{\circledR}$ Brown layers over 4 wk. The hens received 6 dietary treatments: Control, FM 3% supplemented diet (FM 3%), FM 3%+$B_6$ supplemented diet (FM 3%+$B_6$), FM 6% supplemented diet (FM 6%), FM 6%+$B_6$ supplemented diet (FM 6%+$B_6$), and synthetic taurine 0.25% supplemented diet (Taurine). Parameters of production were significantly (p<0.05) affected by treatments. The egg production of hens fed FM 3% was the highest and hens fed FM diets were more productive than the Taurine and Control groups. The egg weights of the Taurine group were significantly lower than those of the FM 3% and FM 6% groups, but not significantly different from those of other treatments. The feed intake of the Control group was highest among all groups. The feed conversion ratio of the Control group was higher than in groups receiving other treatments of which FM 6% was the lowest. The broken egg production of the Taurine group was highest, while that of the Control group was lowest among treatments. The taurine content of egg yolk was significantly (p<0.01) increased by supplementation of taurine (64.7%), FM 6%+$B_6$ (57%), FM 3%+$B_6$ (32.1%), and FM 6% (16.6%) over a 4 wk average. Sensory evaluation data of the Taurine group showed the highest score in all of the sensory attributes and those of other treatments were not significantly (p<0.05) different. In conclusion, taurine can be enriched in egg yolk by supplementation of 6% FM and $B_6$, as well as 0.25% synthetic taurine.

지렁이 분말의 급여가 강제환우시킨 산란노계의 생산성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Feeding Earth Worm Meal on the Performance of Spent Laying Hens after Induced Molting)

  • A study was conducted to investigate the effect of supplementing earthworm meal (EWM) on the performance of spent laying hens after induced molting, and fatty acid composition in egg yolks. A total of 90 laying hens at 73 weeks of age were fed the experimental diets containing 0.0% (Control) and 0.2% of EWM for 4 weeks. Eggs were collected and weighted every day and Egg production and feed conversion were recorded every week during the experimental period. However fatty acid composition of egg yolk were measured at last week of experimental period. An amount of feed intake increased by supplemental with EMW except for Erst week experimental period (P<0.05). When 76 and 77 week of age, egg production and daily egg mass were improved by the supplemented with EWM (P<0.01), but average egg weight was not different when fed a EWM, therefore feed/egg mass was significantly decreased when fed a EWM. The ratio of egg yolk n-6/n-3 fatty acids contents was significantly improved fed a EMW (P<0.05). It is concluded that supplementing 0.2% of earthworm meal in the spent laying hens after induced molting was fast in recover of physical strength, therefore improves laying performance.
