  • Medical images are being managed more by PACS in general medical institutions. It is important to protect patients from being invaded their privacy related to the images. It is also necessary to confirm the ownership, the right of property of the medical images and notice whether the data are modified. In this paper, we propose a robust watermarking against RST attacks in medical images on the PACS. The proposed scheme modifies and improves Log-Polar Mapping and Fourier Mellin Transform in order to realize and recover serious image degradation and watermark data loss caused by the conversion between cartesian coordinate and log-polar coordinate. We used the radius and theta Look Up Table to solve the realization of the Fourier Mellin Transform, and inserted a watermark into 2D-DFT magnitudes using Spread Spectrum. Experimental results shows that this method are robust to rotation attack.

  • This paper is a study on effectiveness of weight in analytical positioning of oblique photography. Oblique photographies are more economical than normal photographies as it has a larger ground coverage and as it can be applied in situations where objects of interest are difficult to be approached. But the comparatively complex methods involved, present a problem in obtaining the desired results. In view of this fact, analytical rectification was applied in normalizing the oblique photographs. As oblique photographies are extensively used in slops and mountainous regions, a number of difficulties are encountered during the control surveying. The photocoordinates of the oblique photographs, taken at $30^{\circ}$, were weighted during rectification. They were weighted as inversely proportionate to the derived formular of ${\gamma}_y=f{\cdot}tan{\frac{\theta}{2}}+y_a$, the distance of each point from the isocenter along the Y axis. By applying the weights, coordinates errors conld be reduced and the error difference between oblique and normal photographs could be reduced upto 53.2%.

  • In this paper, we present a new method for real-time tracking of human walking around a laser sensor system. The method converts range data with $r-{\theta}$ coordinates to a 2D image with x-y coordinates. Then human tracking is performed using human's features, i.e. appearances of human walking pattern, and the input range data. The laser sensor based human tracking method has the advantage of simplicity over conventional methods which extract human face in the vision data. In our method, the problem of estimating 2D positions and orientations of two walking human's ankle level is formulated based on a moving trajectory algorithm. In addition, the proposed tracking system employs a HMM to robustly track human in case of occlusions. Experimental results using a real system demonstrate usefulness of the proposed method.

  • One of the purposes of an artificial neural netowrk(ANNet) is to implement the largest number of functions as possible with the smallest number of nodes and layers. This paper presents a CoreNet which has a multi-leveled input value and a multi-leveled output value with a 2-layered ANNet, which is the basic structure of an ANNet. I have suggested an equation for calculating the capacity of the CoreNet, which has a p-leveled input and a q-leveled output, as $a_{p,q}={\frac{1}{2}}p(p-1)q^2-{\frac{1}{2}}(p-2)(3p-1)q+(p-1)(p-2)$. I've applied this CoreNet into the simulation model 1(5)-1(6), which has 5 levels of an input and 6 levels of an output with no hidden layers. The simulation result of this model gives, the maximum 219 convergences for the number of implementable functions using the cot(${\sqrt{x}}$) input leveling method. I have also shown that, the 27 functions are implementable by the calculation of weight values(w, ${\theta}$) with the multi-threshold lines in the weight space, which are diverged in the simulation results. Therefore the 246 functions are implementable in the 1(5)-1(6) model, and this coincides with the value from the above eqution $a_{5,6}(=246)$. I also show the implementable function numbering method in the weight space.

  • This study investigates the effect of fuel pellet eccentricity on fuel rod thermal performance under the steady state condition. The governing equations in the fuel pellet and the cladding region are set up in 2-dimensional cylindrical coordinate (r, $\theta$) and are solved by finite element method. The angular-dependent heat transfer coefficient in the gap region is used in order to account for the asymmetry of gap width. Material propeties are used as a function of temperature and volumetric heat generation as a function of radial position. The results show the increase of maximum local heat flux at the cladding outer surface and the decrease of maximum and average fuel temperatures due to eccentricity. The former is expected to affect the uncertainties in the minimum DNBR calculation. The latter two are expected to reduce the possibility of fuel melting and the fuel stored energy. Also, the fuel pellet eccentricity introduces asymmetry in fuel pellet temperature and movement of the location of maximum fuel pellet temperature.

  • A new numerical method for determining the surface tension of a liquid drop by experimental measurement of the contour of the sessile drop is explained. in the present method a very simple and short computer program enables the calculation of surface tension in a few seconds even by a low speed personal computer. It need not the use of any other numerical tables or complex techniques. X and Z-corrdinates at one point on the contour of a sessile drop and the tangential angle at that point are all the data needed when the density of the drop is known. The results were compared with the values derived by a conventional method. This method can be used for the confirmation of measuring accuracy. Also the same concepts can be applied for the pendant drop method by changing only the sign of Z-coordinate from "+" to "-"ot; to "-"ot;-"quot.

  • In this paper, we develop a measurement system that uses 3D Scintillator and NaI(TI) Detector to 3-dimensionally identify the location of multiple radiation sources in moving vehicle loads. The radiation measurement system consists of radiation measurement (plastic scintillator), 2-channel Pulse Counter Board, nuclide analysis (NaI(TI) detector) and 1 channel MCA Board. The source locator algorithm calculates the coordinate value of the ratio of the CPS value($1/r^2$) of the source according to the angle(${\theta}$) in inverse proportion to the square of the distance(X, Y) through the SVM classification. The coordinate values are input every predetermined period of the spectrum, and after analyzing the spectrum per unit cycle, the position of the nuclide at the time is calculated by determining whether or not the nuclide is present in the remaining part except for the background area. As a result of the position discrimination test, the error within the international standard of ${\pm}1m$ was shown. Thus, the utility of the proposed system has been demonstrated.

  • In an environment where all nodes move, the sensor node receives anchor node's position information within communication radius and modifies the received anchor node's position information by one's traveled distance and direction in saving in one's memory, where if there at least 3, one's position is determined by performing localization through trilateration. The proposed localization mechanisms have been simulated in the Matlab. In an environment where certain distance is maintained and nodes move towards the same direction, the probability for the sensor node to meet at least 3 anchor nodes with absolute coordinates within 1 hub range is remote. Even if the sensor node has estimated its position with at least 3 beacon information, the angle ${\theta}$ error of accelerator and digital compass will continuously apply by the passage of time in enlarging the error tolerance and its estimated position not being relied. Dead reckoning technology is used as a supplementary position tracking navigation technology in places where GPS doesn't operate, where one's position can be estimated by knowing the distance and direction the node has traveled with acceleration sensor and digital compass. The localization algorithm to be explained is a localization technique that uses Dead reckoning where all nodes are loaded with omnidirectional antenna, and assumes that one's traveling distance and direction can be known with accelerator and digital compass. The simulation results show that our scheme performed better than other mechanisms (e.g. MCL, DV-distance).
