취업 주부의 취업선호 인식이 개인, 가족 직업생활에 미치는 영향 (The effects of the preferences to housewives' employment perceived by working wives on personal, family, & work life)

  • The purpose of this study were to understand the types of preferences to housewives' employment of husbands and wives, and to explore the differences in the personal, the family, and the job-related variables regarding such types of preferences. For this study, the employed housewives with children aged under 10 year were surveyed. The results of this study were as follow; 1) Types of perferences to housewives' employment of husbands were smaller compared to wives'. This may mean that husbands' traditional values related to child rearing and education, and housework influenced on their preferences to wives' employment. 2) There were significant differences in the types of preferences to housewives' employment regarding the types of wives' occupation. Wives working in the white color jobs were prefered themselves' employment more than wives working in the blue color jobs. 3) The group that both wives and husbands prefere housewives' employment was more positively perceived the effects of women's employment on both wives themselves and their children. Also such couples were satisfied more than and felt family-job strain less than other groups.

  • 한국기혼 여교수의 가족 및 직업역할 수행과 그 효과 및 인식 본 연구는 한국의 중상 층 기혼 여교수들의 그들의 가정과 직장생활의 균형을 위한 복수역할 수행에 따른 역할 긴장도 와 역할 만족도를 조사하는 것과 한국 기혼 여교수들이 그들의 취업이 자신과 가족에게 어떤 영향을 미친다고 인식하고 있는지를 조사하는데 그 목적이 있으며, 기혼여교수들과 4년제 대학에 근무하는 남자교수들의 부인 및 한국과학 기술연구소의 연구원들의 부인인 전업주부들과 비교하여 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 여교수들은 전업주부들과 비교하여 더욱 높은 역할 만족도와 긴장도를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 대부분의 여교수들은 자신의 취업이 자녀들과 가족들에게 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The aim of this study is to a study on the effects of fertile women on the low fertility in Korea. It is designed to research a model and established hypothesis with emphasis on major variables based on theoretical discussions. However, the result of the study is as follows. Firstly, this brought in delivery avoid phenomenon thus resulting in lower delivery phenomenon. The government should propose reasonable solutions to persuade female personal value and important elements of delivery rate at the same time. Secondly, Patriarchal stereotypes weighting household labor to female traditionally pressures working female with double burden as dual stance of work and family worsen the delivery will. Such atmosphere within a family generates female with an ability to get pregnancy to avoid marriage and delivery. Lastly, the research has pointed out the delivery support policy as most ineffective policy among government policies. To solve this problem, the government policy to recover delivery rate must be reviewed continuously and to be exercised immediately.

Variations in Multi-family House Prices Following Remodeling Work

  • The remodeling of multi-family houses (MFH) has emerged as a significant issue in the construction industry. Many decision makers struggle with the decision to remodel because of insufficient information including standards or methods for projecting the price of their structure after remodeling. In this context, this research analyzed the change in price of MFHs after remodeling. To achieve this research goal, (i) the price data from 14 groups (i.e., MFH renovation cases and equivalent MFH cases without remodeling) were collected, and (ii) the trend of price variation among each group was analyzed. Finally, this research suggests price variations of each group in terms of three different time points (i.e., before remodeling, after remodeling, and the present), which shows the effects of remodeling on the price of MFHs. This research offers a framework for the development of a model that will predict the price of an MFH after remodeling.

서비스업 근로자의 건강수준에 영향을 미치는 요인 성별 비교 (Gender Specific Comparison of the Influencing Factors on Health Status among Service Workers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study were to investigate the health status and to identify the influencing factors on health status by gender among service workers. Method: Data were collected from the self-reported survey of 781 service workers in sales, food & lodging industry. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS Win 10.0. Result: The influencing factors of male workers' health status were job satisfaction, standing hour during work time, physical work environment, job demand and family support. The influencing factors of female workers' health status were job satisfaction, emotional labor, physical work environment, regular exercise, standing hour during work time, social support and age. Conclusion: Gender specific occupational Health program for service workers should be developed in consideration of these influencing factors.

Improving the Workplace Experience of Caregiver-Employees: A Time-Series Analysis of a Workplace Intervention

  • Background: Rapid population aging in developed countries has resulted in the working-age population increasingly being tasked with the provision of informal care. Methods: An educational intervention was delivered to 21 carer-employees employed at a Canadian University. Work role function, job security, schedule control, work-family conflict, familywork conflict, and supervisor and coworker support were measured as part of an aggregated workplace experience score. This score was used to measure changes pre/post intervention and at a follow-up period approximately 12 months post intervention. Three random intercept models were created via linear mixed modeling to illustrate changes in participants' workplace experience across time. Results: All three models reported statistically significant random and fixed effects intercepts, with a positive coefficient of change. Conclusion: This suggests that the intervention demonstrated an improvement of the workplace experience score for participants over time, with the association particularly strong immediately after intervention.

한부모가족 건강성 지표 개발 연구 (Scale Development of Family Strength for Single-Parent Families)

  • 이 연구는 다양한 가정의 건강성 증진 이라는 건강가정정책 및 제 4차 건강가정기본계획의 강조점에 주목하여 한부모가족의 건강성 지표를 개발하여 제시하고자 한다. 이 지표를 통해 현장의 한부모가족 사업 효율화 및 활성화에 기여하고자 한다. 본 연구가 개발한 한부모가족 건강성 지표는 특히 현장을 방문한 가족이 건강성 지표를 측정하여 강점과 취약점을 발견할 수 있고 이에 근거하여 컨설팅과 사례관리, 교육/상담/자조모임 등 프로그램과의 연계 등으로 이어질 수 있다는 점에서, 다양한 가족에 대한 맞춤형의 사업을 수행할 수 있는 기반이 될 것이다. 한부모가족 건강성 지표를 개발하기 위한 연구방법과 절차로는 먼저, 선행연구를 통해 가정의 건강성, 한부모가족의 실태와 요구를 파악하여 한부모가족 건강성 지표의 영역을 검토하였다. 예비조사를 통해 건강성 지표 초안을 마련하였고, 본조사의 결과를 통계분석하여 지표의 타당성과 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 최종적으로 5개 영역(기본적 토대, 부모역할, 일-생활 균형, 사회적 네트워크, 라이프스타일, 가정경영과 생애설계)5개 영역, 총 48개 항목으로 구성된 한부모가족 건강성 지표를 확정하였다. 이 연구가 개발하여 제시한 한부모가족 건강성 지표는 생활과학이나 가정관리학, 가정복지학 등의 고유한 관점을 반영하였다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 가정의 건강성은 생활과학, 가정관리학, 가정복지학 등에서 지속적으로 연구해 온 주제이다. 따라서 건강가정지원센터, 가족센터와 같은 현장에서 사업을 할 때 건강성 지표를 활용함으로써 다른 기관 사업과의 차별화를 모색할 수 있다. 나아가 맞벌이가정, 다문화가족, 조손가족, 분거가족 등 다양한 형태의 가정에게 적용할 수 있는 건강성 지표 개발의 선행 자료로서의 유용성도 함께 강조할 수 있을 것이다.

  • Purpose: This study is performed to help manage the metabolic syndrome in work place by identifying the effect on metabolic syndrome with subjects of Korean adult workers. Methods: Using part of data of "The Fourth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination survey 2nd year (2008)" which center for disease control is investigating. The general characteristics include age, educational level, occupation and marital status as factors affecting the metabolic syndrome of workers in this study. Results: Work-related factors are the working environment in which they are working while they are pressed for time due to work status and overload. If the work status of worker is unpaid family member, the risk is increased by more than twice compared to paid workers. The risk for metabolic syndrome in work environment to work while fighting the clock is decreased compared to the work environment without time pressure. Conclusion: In order to manage the metabolic syndrome of workers, health promotion program to change management of both working condition and working environment can contribute to prevent the metabolic syndrome and ultimately prevent the cerebrocardiovascular diseases.

육아휴직 후 직장에 복귀한 간호사의 적응과정 (Adaptation Process of Nurses Who Return to Work after Parental Leave)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to generate a grounded substantive theory of the adaptation process of nurses who return to work after taking parental leave. Methods: Individual in-depth interviews with 13 participants were conducted between June and September 2014. Participants were interviewed 1~3 times; interviews were continued until the data became saturated. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory method. Results: The core category of experience of the process of adaptation as a nurse who returned to work after parental leave was 'trying to regain one's previous position'. Participants used five interactional strategies: 'preparing in advance', 'initiating relationships with colleagues', 'keeping a positive attitude', 'understanding parenting helpers', 'Taking burden off one's mind'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for the adaptation process of nurses returning to work after taking parental leave. The importance of improving nurses' attitudes to their co-workers who take parental leave is highlighted along with the necessity of providing a family-friendly work environment. These results can be used to develop supportive policies and programs for nurses who return to their work after parental leave.

Overemployment of Workers in Penang, Malaysia: An Empirical Analysis

  • Many workers today encounter the problem of overemployment which occurs when actual working hours exceed preferred or desired working hours. Overemployed workers desire to work fewer hours although this may entail a concomitant decline in earnings. This research is conducted to examine the likelihood of overemployment among employees in a particular state in Malaysia, that is, Penang. This study uses primary data that was collected in a survey encompassing a total of 525 employees in the state. A logit model is used to analyse the relationship between the likelihood of overemployment and various socio-demographic, household and work-related variables. The factors that are significantly related to overemployment are ethnicity, age, education, number of children in the household, occupation, hours of work and control over work schedule. Based on the findings of this paper, it is suggested that policies such as offering part-time jobs or job-sharing options to older workers, implementing family-friendly policies, adopting decent working time measures and strategies that give workers more control over their work schedule are some possible ways to deal with the issue of overemployment.
