Service-Oriented Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Restaurants: An Empirical Study from Pakistan

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the role of employee engagement as a mediator between the High-Performance Work System and the Service-Oriented Organizational Citizenship Behavior (Service-Oriented OCB). Furthermore, work-life balance as a moderator, the impact Service-Oriented OCB on customer satisfaction will be investigated. This study employs a quantitative methodology for which questionnaires were distributed to sixty restaurants in Karachi, and a sample of 418 responses was collected for structural equation modeling analysis. Smart PLS software was used to analyze the structure model. The results show that HPWS has a positive impact on Service-Oriented OCB. It is assumed that the role of work engagement as a mediator between HPWS and Service-Oriented OCB is significant. This study found that Service-Oriented OCB has a positive impact on customer satisfaction. Work-life balance was also found to have a moderating influence. The findings confirmed the black box mechanism and the HPWS procedures in restaurants. This study suggests implementing effective HPWS practices to influence employees' work engagement, which leads to Service-Oriented OCB and employees being able to optimize their performance to influence customer satisfaction. The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge in human resource management.

  • Performance appraisal system is to evaluate employee' work performance, work ability and work attitude. It becomes a important foundation of personnel management. This system's goal is to accomplish employee ability development. The purpose of this study is to make some contributions in order to efficient performance appraisal system of hotels by analyzing the problems of current performance appraisal system. The suggestions for efficient performance appraisal system are as follows: 1. Performance appraisal by job analysis. 2. Though evaluators' training for objective assessment. 3. The assistance system of appraisal results for employees. 4. Magnifying use of appraisal results. 5. Object management strategy by using self-rating.

  • In A institute, project managers present quarterly project performance report according to institute's law. In quarterly project performance report, progress of project performance and budget expended should be written. Progress of project performance and progress of budget expended are key management factors in A institute. Because financial database system Is already constructed, progress of budget expended is got from information system. But the progress of project performance that project manager estimate subjectively can not be judged of its correctness because there is not project management information system that is able to calculate the progress of project performance systematically. In this study, we present the project management system assign all activities to every project participator according to their work share rate using WBS(Work Breakdown Structure) and calculate the progress of project performance systematically Also we construct project management information system for above project management system implementing.

  • KPI, an indicator that measures the performance of factors that contribute to achieving strategies of individuals or organizations, is used a lot to analyze the performance of construction work. Construction work consists of individual construction types with different characteristics such as progress method, scale, and input resources, but currently, KPIs for performance analysis of individual construction types are lacking. Therefore, this study aims to obtain and analyze data for establishing construction performance analysis KPIs during construction work to prepare the basis for the creation of future construction KPIs. Preliminary KPIs for earthwork performance analysis selected through this study are expected to be the basis for deriving preliminary KPIs for other individual construction types.

종합병원 간호사의 섬망 간호수행 영향요인 (Factors Affecting Nursing Performance of Delirium for General Hospital Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors affecting nursing performance of delirium among general hospital clinical nurses. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study and conducted from July 20 to July 30 2015, with a sample consisting of 167 registered nurses in three general hospitals. Data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0. Results: Nursing performance of delirium had significant positive correlations with knowledge about delirium (r=.25, p=.001), self-confidence in caring for patients with delirium (r=.45, p<.001) and nursing work environment (r=.29, p<.001). In this study, factors affecting nursing performance of delirium were self-confidence in caring for patients with delirium (${\beta}=.33$, p<.001), nursing work environment (${\beta}=.26$, p<.001), experience in nursing education about delirium(${\beta}=.18$, p=.007) and clinical experience (${\beta}=.18$, p=.007). The factors explained 32% of nursing performance of delirium. Conclusion: This study's results can be used as basic data to develope educational programs related to delirium care through continuing education and to improve work environments in developing strategies to enhance nursing performance for patients with delirium.

열교환기 효율이 초저온 냉동사이클 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect on Heat Exchangers Efficiency on Performance of Cryogenic Refrigeration Cycles)

  • This paper presents the new cascade liquefaction cycles using $CO_2-C_2H_6-N_2$ and $CO_2-N_2O-N_2$. The performance of the cascade liquefaction cycles with respect to temperature differences in the LNG heat exchangers is analyzed using HYSYS software and then compared the performance of these cycles with phillips optimized cascade liquefaction cycle. The coefficient of performance of the new liquefaction cycles considered in this study decreases with the temperature differences in the LNG heat exchangers, but the compressor work, expander work and heat capacity in the LNG heat exchanger increases, respectively. From the comparison of performance of three cycles, the cascade liquefaction cycles using $CO_2-C_2H_6-N_2$ showed the highest COP. And the cycles using $CO_2-C_2H_6-N_2$ and $CO_2-N_2O-N_2$ presented the second and third highest COP, respectively. In the view of performance, the optimized cascade liquefaction cycle using $C_3H_8-C_2H_4-C_1H_4$ yields much better COP. But, in the environment view, it is found that the cascade liquefaction cycle using $CO_2-C_2H_6-N_2$ shows favorable characteristics.

생체(生體)리듬이 작업성과(作業成果)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effect of Biorhythm to Work Performance)

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of biorhythm to work performance. In order to do this, the data are collected from the manufacturing factory which produce a sportware, and the statistical test are made to testify the relationship between the number of defective items and the biorhythm chart of the workers. The number of defective items which made in the peak day, usual day, and critical day on the worker's biorythm chart are compared with each other, and the statistical test are made to see if there are difference between them, and the correlation analysis are made to see if there is any correlation between the work performance and the biorhythm chart. The result of the statistical test shows that the biorythm of the worker gives an effect to his work performance with a correlation.

벤처중소기업의 일과 생활의 균형이 기업성과에 미치는 영향: 제품혁신의 매개효과 (The Effects of Work-Life Balance on Corporate Performance: Mediating Effect of Product Innovation in Venture SMEs)

  • 본 연구는 벤처중소기업에 초점을 두고 일과 생활의 균형과 기업성과 간의 관계에서 제품혁신의 매개효과를 분석하는 실증 분석 연구이다. 이를 위해 일과 생활의 균형(일과 가정의 균형, 일과 여가의 균형, 일과 성장의 균형), 제품혁신, 기업성과에 대한 기존 선행연구를 포괄적으로 검토하여 연구모형을 구축한 뒤 각 변수들 간이 관계를 실증 분석하였다. 이를 위해 2015년 3월 1일부터 3월 31일까지 1개월간 영남지역(대구 경북지역 및 부산 경남지역) 벤처중소기업을 대상으로 설문지 500부를 배포 및 회수하여 162부의 유효 표본을 활용하여 구조방정식 분석을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 일과 생활의 균형의 영역인 일과 가정의 균형, 일과 여가의 균형, 일과 성장의 균형 중 일과 성장의 균형만 제품혁신에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 이는 벤처중소기업의 경우 실질적으로 제품혁신에 도움이 되는 것은 근로자들의 자기계발이나 교육훈련임을 시사하며, 기업 차원에서 근로자들에게 교육훈련 프로그램 제공, 자기계발 시간 부여, 자기계발 경비 지원, 지식경영시스템 구축 등이 반드시 필요함을 제시한다. 둘째, 제품혁신은 기업성과에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 이는 벤처중소기업이 급변하는 경영환경에서 성장 또는 생존하기 위해서는 혁신이 필요함을 시사하며, 특히 벤처중소기업의 경우 제품혁신이 다른 혁신에 비해 매우 중요하므로 지속적인 제품혁신 노력이 요구된다. 셋째, 제품혁신이 매개된 상태에서 일과 생활의 균형의 영역인 일과 가정의 균형, 일과 여가의 균형, 일과 성장의 균형 모두 기업성과에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못했다. 넷째, 제품혁신은 일과 생활의 균형의 영역인 일과 가정의 균형, 일과 여가의 균형, 일과 성장의 균형 중 일과 성장의 균형과 기업성과 간의 관계만 긍정적(+)으로 매개했다. 이는 일과 성장의 균형이 제품혁신을 통해 기업성과로 이어지는 선순환 모델을 제시해 주며, 벤처중소기업의 근로자들이 업무 외 자기계발이나 교육훈련을 할 수 있는 시간과 비용을 지원받을 경우 제품혁신에 도움이 되며 이러한 제품혁신은 결국 기업성과로 이어질 수 있음을 시사한다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 벤처중소기업의 일과 성장의 균형에 대한 특별한 관리 필요성에 대한 학문적 실무적 시사점을 제시해주고 있으며, 기업 차원에서 뿐만 아니라 정부 차원에서도 행 재정적 지원이 반드시 필요함을 알려주고 있다.

Work Productivity Analysis of High-performance PC Slab Installation

  • Demand is increasing for large, high-rise, and complex buildings, which is leading to advances in the development of high-performance structural systems. In this context, precast concrete (PC) technology has received a large amount of attention owing to its benefits in terms of schedule reduction, high quality, and easy installation. In addition, advanced methodologies that improve the PC performance by the addition of various materials have recently been reported. Research on analyzing the effects of such high-performance PC on the construction process and productivity is very limited. This makes it difficult for decision-makers to apply PC to particular projects. Thus, the aim of this research was to analyze the work productivity of the high-performance PC slab installation process by using a construction simulation tool to resolve critical issues. In this study, a real construction project that adopted PC slab installation work was analyzed, and a sensitivity analysis was performed to confirm the reliability of the analysis results.

병원간호사의 간호근무환경이 간호업무성과, 직무만족에 미치는 영향: 셀프리더십의 매개효과 (The effect of Nursing Work Environment of Hospital Nurses on Nursing Job Performance and Job Satisfaction : The mediating effect of Self-Leadership)

  • 연구의 목적은 간호사가 지각하는 간호업무환경에서 간호업무성과와 직무만족이 미치는 영향을 이해하는 과정에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과를 파악하기 위함이다. 본 연구에서는 A도에 소재한 종합병원 3곳에서 1년 이상 근무한 간호사를 대상으로 하였고, 총 225개의 자료를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 t-검정, ANOVA, Pearson의 상관계수 및 위계적 회귀 분석을 사용하였다. 간호업무환경과 간호업무성과의 관계에서 셀프리더십은 부분 매개역할(z=4.30, p<.001)을 하고 있으며, 간호업무환경과 직무만족의 관계에서 셀프리더십은 부분 매개역할(z=3.70, p<.001)을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 간호업무성과와 직무만족을 증진시키기 위해 간호근무환경의 개선과 셀프리더십을 향상시킬수 있는 관리방안의 수립이 필요할 것이다.
