노인들의 노동시장 참여형태와 동거유형이 건강수준 및 주관적 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study of Labor Force Participation and Living Arrangement on Health Status and Subjective Life Satisfaction in Later Life)

  • Corresponding to the rapid growth of the aging population without an adequate social safety net for the elderly, older people face great disadvantages due to sudden illness or poor health and a lack of support from the younger generation. Furthermore, older women are suffering from a drastic deterioration of their economic status because of insufficient retirement savings. Examining the impact of labor force participation and living arrangement on health status and life satisfaction in later life, it is important to consider gender differences in context of social policies for the elderly. Using data based on a stratified national sample of the elderly by the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA), multiple regression model were used to estimate the relationships between labor force participation and health status and subjective life satisfaction concerning the quality of their later life. The result indicates that good health status and high level of life satisfaction are associated with the type of paid work status for the elderly men, but those are associated with the type of non paid work, such as family businesses employees for the elderly women. Significant differences in chronic health condition and subjective life satisfaction by employment characteristics are found among the elderly. In addition, older women's high level of life satisfaction was associated with the participation of the social activity. The major conclusion from these results should help us understand gender differences in the elderly and acknowledge further exploration of gender variations in these people's later life.

요양기관에 입원중인 진폐증 환자에서 고독감과 삶의 만족도와의 연관성 (Loneliness and Life Satisfaction in Pneumoconiosis Patients Hospitalized in Long-term Care Facilities)

  • Purpose: Loneliness may be a typical psychological consideration in chronically ill patients, linking with low life satisfaction. We aimed to determine if loneliness would be independently associated with life satisfaction in pneumoconiosis patients hospitalized in long-term care facilities. Methods: We recruited 164 patients from 3 pneumoconiosis-specialized hospitals in M and S cities, South Korea, and measured loneliness and life satisfaction by using the University of California Los Angeles loneliness and life satisfaction index-Z scales. The Multiple regression analysis was performed to examine an independent association between loneliness and life satisfaction after adjustment for age, the levels of dyspnea and bronchitis-emphysema symptom, length of institutionalization, marital status, previous coal work experience, perceived socioeconomic status, and presence of caregivers. Results: The mean of loneliness was 46.4. We found a significant association between loneliness and life satisfaction (standardized beta=-0.16, p=0.049), independent of all the covariates. Conclusions: Loneliness was an independent associate of life satisfaction in patients with pneumoconiosis who were institutionalized in long-term care facilities. Thus, a nursing intervention strategy for relieving loneliness is needed to increase life satisfaction in these patients.

Effects of Work Value on the Life Satisfaction of Culinary Arts Majors

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the work value factors regarded as important by the culinary-related graduates in their 20s, and also to analyze the effects of work value factors on the life satisfaction. To achieve this purpose, this study analyzed the data of 155 graduates from departments including 'culinary arts', 'foodservice', and 'confectionery' among the college graduates in their 20s who participated in GOMS 2018. The results of analysis are as follows. First, the new generation majors in culinary arts showed the high importance of their aptitude and interest, employment stability, earned income. Second, in relation to the major field, the male graduates majored in culinary arts more highly perceived the importance than the female graduates majored in culinary arts. On the other hand, regarding the social reputation of job and work duty, the female graduates majored in culinary arts more highly perceived the importance than the male graduates majored in culinary arts. Third, the developmental value factor of work value had positive effects on the life satisfaction. Thus, the career-related staffs or professors of college should provide the career guidance by considering gender when the majors in culinary arts transit to the labor market after graduation.

노인 생산적 활동의 복합성과 생활만족도 (Complexity of Productive Activities and Life-Satisfaction of Korea's Older People)

  • 현재 각 사회에서 진행되는 생산적 노년 논의가 사회적 생산성을 유지하고 사회적 부담을 해결하려는 방향으로 진행되고 있으며 이것은 노인의 활동성과 독립성에의 강한 가치부여로 나타난다. 본 연구는 <2004년도 전국노인생활실태 및 복지욕구조사> 자료 분석을 통해서 노인집단 내부에 나타나는 생산적 활동의 복합적인 양상을 조명한다. 노인의 생산적 활동 중 유급노동활동과 사회지원활동 두 영역에서 활동에 참여하는 노인의 경제적 기반과 자발성, 가족과의 관계에 따라 복합적 경향을 엿볼 수 있다. 이러한 점은 노인의 생활만족도 분석에서 더욱 두드러진다. 연구 결과, 대표적 생산적 활동인 유급노동의 경우 경제적 기반이 양호한 상태이고 참여 동기가 노인의 자율적 선택에 의한 자발적인 활동인 경우에는 생계유지를 위해 불가피하게 활동에 참여하는 노인과 비교하여 생활만족도에서 큰 차이를 보였다. 또 다른 생산적 활동 영역인 사회지원활동 중 가정일 및 돌봄 활동의 경우, 참여노인의 경제적 상황과 지원대상인 가족과의 관계에 따라 나누어 생활만족도를 비교했을 때 가족관계에 불만족하는 경우에 생활만족도가 눈에 띄게 떨어진다.

  • The purpose of this study was (1) to explore the difference in parental satisfaction regarding personal/family, work, and psychological variables of employment characteristics, and (2) to investigate the most effecting variables on the parental satisfaction. For this study, the working mother with children aged under 10 year were surveyed. The results of this study were as follow; (1) There were significant differences in the parental satisfaction according to work time, job preference, income, the difficulty of work life. However, working mother's personal and family variable were not found as the related variable. Psychological variables were correlated with parental satisfaction. (2) Maternal role efficiency, dual role conflict, flexibility of work, marriage year, income, psychological stress, expanded family, durations of occupation, spouse support significantly predicted parental satisfaction. Psychological variables were important in parental satisfaction of working mothers.

도시 주부의 가사노동에 대한 의식과 만족도간의 관계연구 (A Study of the Relationship Between the Housewives Consciousness and Satisfaction for the Household Work)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the basic information for the improvement of housewives consciousness and satisfaction of household work by analyzing the data regarding the housewives consciousness and satisfaction toward household work. The research problems was described as follows; 1) How independent variables influence the housewives consciousness of household work. 2) How independent variables influence the satisfaction of household work. 3) How relate the housewives consciousness and the satisfaction of household work. The research was conducted on 354 housewives in Seoul during the end of January and the beginning of March, 1986. As for the measurement of the instrument, questionnaire with 46 items was made by investigator. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and t-test, F-test, Scheffe-test, Pearson-r. The results were summarized as follows; 1) Among the independent variables, the ages of housewives, durations of marriage, psychologica satisfaction were variables to have influence on the housewives consciousness towark household work. 2) Among the independent variable,s the socio-economic status, durations of marriage, psychological satisfaction were variables to have influence on the satisfaction of household work. 3) There were strong positive correlationship between the housewives consciousness and the satisfaction of household work. As a result, it is necessary to minimize the repetition and the overload of house-hold chores through the rationalization of household work and also to divide householdwork properly to family members. We let the housewives feel that her ability can be obtained from the household work. Especially the housewives must have a clear and a high level of consciousness of the household work an expect to receive high value of her household work from the family members. In order to do so, it seems to be important that housewives makes on great effort to have a positive value system and attitudes toward the consciousness and satisfaction of household work. We also must develop those factors through school and home education.

이동보조기 사용에 따른 직업만족 및 삶의 질에 관한 연구 -중증과 경증 외부신체 장애자근로자의 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on Job Satisfaction and Quality of Life in Relation to the Use of Movement Assisters -Focused on a Comparison between Workers with Severe and Slight External Physical Disabilities-)

  • 본 연구는 외부신체 장애근로자를 대상으로 이동보조기 사용에 따른 직업만족과 삶의 질의 차이를 장애유형에 따라 비교분석하고, 이동보조기 사용자의 직업만족이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 분석결과, 경증의 경우 일의 내용에서만 이동보조기 사용자의 직업만족이 높은 것과는 달리 중증의 경우 일의 내용, 근로환경, 근로시간, 발전가능성, 의사소통 및 대인관계에 대한 만족이 높게 나타났으며, 삶의 질에서도 중증의 경우 가족, 거주지, 일에 대한 삶의 질에서 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이동보조기 사용자의 직업만족이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향의 분석결과, 직업만족의 모든 하위영역에서 의미 있는 영향을 나타내어 직업만족이 높을수록 삶의 질을 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the perceived quality of life of Korean university students'. The perceived quality of life was composed of three dimensions: emotion, cognitive efficiency, and satisfaction. The study results were as follow: 1. Korean university students felt more positive emotions when they spent time for social activities. 2. In the cognitive efficiency, social activities also scored highly of 5 questions, but in the item of "awareness of another person's eye", productive activities were higher. 3. Korean university students were more satisfied with themselves when they spent time for productive activities. However, they were more satisfied with their work itself when the work was social activities. 4. Korean university students' emotions, cognitive efficiencies, and satisfaction were significantly different by socio-graphic variables and context.

베이비부머의 주관적 건강상태, 우울, 삶의 만족도의 관계: 근로여부에 따른 다중집단분석 (Self-Rated Health, Depression, and Life Satisfaction of Babyboomers in Korea: Multiple Group Analysis according to Their Work Status)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 베이비부머의 주관적 건강상태가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 우울의 매개효과를 분석하는데 있다. 또한 다중집단분석을 통해 근로여부에 따른 주관적 건강상태, 우울, 삶의 만족도의 관계에 차이가 있는지를 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 고령화연구패널조사의 6차년도 데이터를 이용하여 2차자료 분석을 진행하였으며, 연구대상은 6차년도 조사대상자 9,913명 중 1955년에서 1963년에 태어난 베이비부머 2,479명이다. 연구방법은 각 변수들간의 경로분석을 통해 상관관계를 파악하기 위해 구조방정식을 이용하였으며, 우울의 매개효과는 효과분해를 통해 직접 효과, 간접효과, 총효과를 분석하였다. 주관적 건강, 우울, 삶의 만족도의 관계에서 근로여부에 따른 집단간 차이는 자유 모델과 제약모델의 비교를 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과, 베이비부머가 자각하는 건강상태가 좋을수록 삶의 만족도는 높아지고, 우울감은 낮아졌다. 그리고 우울감이 높은 베이비부머일수록 삶의 만족도가 낮아져, 우울이 주관적 건강상태과 삶의 만족도의 관계를 매개하였다. 근로를 하지 않는 베이비부머의 경우 주관적 건강상태와 우울정도가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향력이 근로를 하는 베이비부머의 경우보다 높았다. 또한 우울이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향도 근로를 하지 않는 베이비부머 모형에서 더 크게 나타났으며, 이러한 두 집단 간의 차이는 통계적으로 유의했다. 이를 통해 베이비부머의 우울 감소를 위한 보호요인으로써 주관적 건강상태의 개선이 필요하며 근로활성화를 통해 노년기에 접어든 베이비붐 세대의 삶의 만족도를 긍정적으로 강화할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

임금근로자의 직무적합도가 생활만족도에 미치는 영향: 일 만족도의 매개효과 (The Effect of Job Fit on Life Satisfaction of Wage Workers : Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 임금근로자의 직무적합도가 생활만족도에 미치는 영향과 일 만족도의 매개효과를 검증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 분석을 위해 한국노동패널조사(Korean Labor and Income Panel Study) 23차년도(2020년) 자료를 활용하였고 그 중 임금근로자 7,202명을 표본으로 추출하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 25.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계, 상관분석을 실시하였고 PROCESS MACRO 4 프로그램으로 매개효과를 검증했다. 간접효과의 유의성은 Bootstrapp 기법으로 분석했다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 임금근로자의 직무적합도는 생활만족도를 향상시키는 것으로 확인됐다. 둘째, 직무적합도와 생활만족도의 관계에서 일 만족도는 완전매개효과를 보이고 있다. 연구결과에 근거해서 임금근로자의 생활만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 실천적 개입 방안들을 논의하였다.
