  • The WBAN technology means a short distance wireless network which provides each device interactive communication by connecting devices inside and outside of body. Standardization on the physical layer, data link layer, network layer and application layer is in progress by IEEE 802.15.6 TG BAN. Wireless body area network is usually configured in energy efficient using sensor and zigbee device due to the power limitation and the characteristics of human body. Wireless sensor network consist of sensor field and sink node. Sensor field are composed a lot of sensor node and sink node collect sensing data. Wireless sensor network has capacity of the self constitution by protocol where placed in large area without fixed position. Mobile sink node distribute energy consumption therefore network life time was increased than fixed sink node. The energy efficient is important matter in wireless body area network because energy resource was limited on sensor node. In this paper we proposed cluster topology algorithm for efficient data transmission in wireless body area network based mobile sink. The proposed algorithm show good performance under the advantage of grid routing protocol and TDMA scheduling that minimized overlap area on cluster and reduced amount of data on cluster header in error prone wireless sensor network based on mobile sink.

  • In this paper, USN of wireless communication with easy to install and effectiveness with variety information gathering has been proposed as a alternative of wired-based line for transmission of fire sensing data. But, The sensor node using USN should be considered for wireless transmission range and reliability of information. In this study, the zigbee protocol sensor node was implemented and then tested transmission range of sensor node as 10m interval using voltage information of DC 3V & 5V. Here, maximum transmission distance was confirmed 90m inside-outside. When used mesh routing relay node, distance was not limited. In USN network building, when fire sensing data transmitted, the sensing data same between direct sensing data from sensor and collecting data at USN. Therefore, was confirmed reliability for transmission range and information of proposed zigbee sensor node.

  • In this paper, we propose a grid-based efficient routing protocol for a mobile sink in wireless sensor networks. In the proposed protocol, the network is partitioned into grids and each grid has a grid head. For the efficient routing to a mobile sink, the proposed protocol uses a mobile sink representative node to send the data to a mobile sink and grid heads are used as a mobile sink representative node. Furthermore, the proposed protocol uses nodes in the boundary of the center grid as position storage nodes. The position storage nodes store the position of a mobile sink representative node and provide source nodes with it for data delivery. With these features, the proposed protocol can reduce a lot of overhead to update the position information and improve the delay of data delivery to a mobile sink. The proposed protocol performs better than other protocols in terms of the delay and the energy consumption per node in the performance evaluation.

  • Tree routing is one of appropriate routing schemes in wireless sensor network because the complexity of this approach is relatively low. But, congestion at a specific node may happen because a parent node toward a sink node is usually selected in one hop way, specially where large number of node are deployed. As feasible solution for this problem, multiple paths and sinks schemes can be applied. However, the performance of these schemes are not proved and analyzed yet. In this paper, we conduct diverse simulaton scenarios performance evaluation for these cases to identify the improvement and analyze the impact of schemes. The performance is measured in the aspects of packet transmission rate, throughput, and end-to-end delay as a function of amount of network traffic.

  • In this paper, I propose a new energy efficient clustering scheme to prolong the network lifetime by reducing energy consumption at the sensor node. It is possible that a node determines whether to participate in clustering with certain probability based on local density. This scheme is useful under the environment that sensor nodes are deployed unevenly within the sensing area. By adjusting the probability of participating in clustering dynamically with local density of nodes, the energy consumption of the network is reduced. So, the lifetime of the network is extended. In the region where nodes are densely deployed, it is possible to reduce the energy consumption of the network by limiting the number of node which is participated in clustering with probability which can be adjusted dynamically based on local density of the node. Through computer simulation, it is verified that the proposed scheme is more energy efficient than LEACH protocol under the environment where node are densely located in a specific area.

  • A home healthcare system based wireless sensor network, which can continuously monitor and manage the elderly's electrocardiogram(ECG) signal at any space at home without space limit is proposed. The communication coverage of wireless network is expended by multi-hop wireless sensor network. In order to send the elderly's ECG data wirelessly, a small size ECG sensor node was designed to forward the ECG data over multi-hop relay network. The packet acquired by mobile ECG node is transmitted through wireless intermediate nodes to base station for analyzing the packet reception rate. Modified minimum cost forwarding(MMCF) protocol and flooding protocol are designed and implemented to check the transmission efficiency of a packet in a wireless sensor network. The developed MMCF protocol shows an advantage of high reception rate by reduced network traffic.

  • Many of the recent performance evaluation of clustering schemes in wireless sensor networks considered one sink node operation and fixed sink node location without mentioning about any network application requirements. However, application environments have variable requirements about their networks. In addition, network performance is sufficiently influenced by different sink node location scenarios in multi-hop based network. We also know that sink location can influence to the sensor network performance evaluation because of changed multipath of sensor nodes and changed overload spots in multipath based wireless sensor network environment. Thus, the performance evaluation results are hard to trust because sensor network is easily changed their network connection through their routing algorithms. Therefore, we suggest that these schemes need to evaluate with different sink node location scenarios to show fair evaluation result. Under the results of that, network performance evaluation results are acknowledged by researchers. In this paper, we measured several clustering scheme's performance variations in accordance with various types of sink node location scenarios. As a result, in the case of the clustering scheme that did not consider various types of sink location scenarios, fair evaluation cannot be expected.

  • In this paper, it proposes a protocol of resource adaptive data dissemination for sensor nodes in a wireless sensor network. In general, each sensor node used in a wireless sensor network delivers the required information to the final destination by conducting cooperative works such as sensing, processing, and communicating each other using the battery power of a independent sensor node. So, a protocol used for transferring the acquired information to users through the wireless sensor network can minimize the power consumption of energy resource given to a sensor node. Especially, it is very important to minimize the total amount of power consumption with a method for handling the problems on implosion. data delivery overlapping, and excessive message transfer caused by message broadcasting. In this paper, for the maintaining of the shortest path between sensor nodes, maximizing of the life time of a sensor node and minimizing of communication cost, it presents a method for selecting the representative transfer node for an event arising area based on the negotiation scheme and maintaining optimal transfer path using hop and energy information. Finally, for the performance evaluation, we compare the proposed protocol to existing directed diffusion and SPIN protocol. And, with the simulation results, we show that the proposed protocol enhances the performance on the power consumption rate when the number of overall sensor nodes in a sensor network or neighbor sensor nodes in an event area are increased and on the number of messages disseminated from a sensor node.

  • The high-level contribution of this paper is to illustrate the effectiveness of using graph theory tree traversal algorithms (pre-order, in-order and post-order traversals) to generate the chain of sensor nodes in the classical Power Efficient-Gathering in Sensor Information Systems (PEGASIS) data aggregation protocol for wireless sensor networks. We first construct an undirected minimum-weight spanning tree (ud-MST) on a complete sensor network graph, wherein the weight of each edge is the Euclidean distance between the constituent nodes of the edge. A Breadth-First-Search of the ud-MST, starting with the node located closest to the center of the network, is now conducted to iteratively construct a rooted directed minimum-weight spanning tree (rd-MST). The three tree traversal algorithms are then executed on the rd-MST and the node sequence resulting from each of the traversals is used as the chain of nodes for the PEGASIS protocol. Simulation studies on PEGASIS conducted for both TDMA and CDMA systems illustrate that using the chain of nodes generated from the tree traversal algorithms, the node lifetime can improve as large as by 19%-30% and at the same time, the energy loss per node can be 19%-35% lower than that obtained with the currently used distance-based greedy heuristic.
