Development of an Automatic Inspection System for PWM Shaft Using Machine Vision (머신비전을 이용한 PWM Shaft의 자동검사 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, in order to overcome shortcomings of manual inspection for the automotive PWM Shaft, we developed an automated inline inspection system. The automated inline inspection system consists of the work feeder unit, conveying unit, outer diameter check unit, run-out and roundness check unit, machine vision, defective separation unit and status alarm unit. We used the machine vision system for automatic inspection process and designed the inline systems for automatic feeding and selecting process. Also the repeated operation test was performed in order to verify the precision and reliability of the proposed automated inline inspection system.

  • Recently, many industrial electric vehicles have been developed using various ac-motor drive technologies including field oriented vector control. Generally, a magnetic encoder is installed to have resistance to vibration and dust, and it is cost-effective. However, it is difficult to get an accurate rotor speed for high performance of vector control, because a resolution of the magnetic encoder is low and its phase accuracy is poor. In order to overcome this hardware problem, this study proposes a speed measurement algorithm using moving window for low-resolution magnetic encoder. This algorithm is experimentally tested and successfully applied to traction application of industrial electric vehicle.

  • In this research a real-time control system was developed without program codings during control system designing procedures. On the Simulink window control system is designed in the form of block diagrams, program codes are produced automatically with the real time workshop package, then C-compiler compiles the program codes. With this automatic real-time program producing mechanism rapid prototyping is realized. To show effectiveness of the proposed system designing scheme a DSP-based DC motor speed control system was constructed and PI and Fuzzy control methods were implemented.

  • This paper describes a monitoring system for fish farm formation effect based on personal computer by using an image processing technique. This method is based on image processing technique incorporating concept of window and threshold processing to track the target object and to distinguish it from background. The image processing program runs in the veal time so that all program modules are able to process multi-task. The effectiveness is evaluated through the comparative study on the motion of lantern net for the scallop culturing by wave action in an experimental wave tank.

  • We have evaluated the ability of a time-delayed artificial neural network (TDANN) to predict muscle forces using only eletromyographic(EMG) signals. To achieve this goal, tendon forces and EMG signals were measured simultaneously in the gastrocnemius muscle of a dog while walking on a motor-driven treadmill. Direct measurements of tendon forces were performed using an implantable force transducer and EMG signals were recorded using surface electrodes. Under dynamic conditions, the relationship between muscle force and EMG signal is nonlinear and time-dependent. Thus, we adopted EMG amplitude estimation with adaptive smoothing window length. This approach improved the prediction ability of muscle force in the TDANN training. The experimental results indicated that dynamic tendon forces from EMG signals could be predicted using the TDANN, in vivo.

  • A method to focus the object in camera system by applying the Hill climb algorithm from optical lens moving device (VCM; Voice coil motor) is proposed. The focusing algorithm from VCM is focus on the object but in these criteria is a well-known drawback; the focus is good only at same distance objects but the focus is bad (blur image) at different distance objects because of the DOF (Depth of focus) or DOF (Depth of field) at the optical characteristic. Here, the new camera system that describes the Reflector of free curvature systems (or Diffractive Fresnel lens) and the partition of focusing window area is proposed. The method to improve the focus in all areas (different distance objects) is proposed by new optical system (discrete auto in-focus) using the Reflector of free curvature systems (or Diffractive Fresnel lens) and by applying the partition of all areas. The proposal is able to obtain good focus in all areas.

  • In this paper, the trend of the market demand for the technology of railway cars and the development direction of other country or company were studied by analysing the patent map. The effort for developing the technology is intensified from the middle of 1960s and it seems to be more strengthened especially in the parts of bogie, driving motor/power, window and door. Recently the increasing rate of the number of patent application from Germany and China is noticeable. The results of this paper can be used for making the development plans of competitive technologies and benchmarking of them.

  • 본 연구에서는 소형 DC 모터 완성품의 제품검사에서 객관성이 결여된 판정기준인 작업자의 청각에 의한 관능검사에 대신하여 자동 진단 시스템의 적용으로 고신뢰성을 확보하기 위하여 음향신호를 취득하여 분석하는 방법을 제안하였다. 소형 모터가 회전할 때 발생하는 음향신호를 마이크로폰으로 취득하여, 취득한 신호에 단구간 Hanning Window를 걸어 시간에 따라 이동하면서 신호의 주파수 성분을 시간에 따라 전개하는 STFT(Short-Time Fourier Transform) 기법으로 정상적인 모터와 이상인 모터에서 발생하는 음향신호를 분석하였다.
