  • This work develops a monitoring system for the population with health concerns. A belt integrated with an on-body circuit and sensors measures a wearer's selected vital signals. The electrocardiogram sensors monitor heart conditions and an accelerometer assesses the level of physical activity. Sensed signals are transmitted to the circuit module through digital yarns and are forwarded to a mobile device via Bluetooth. An interactive application, installed on the mobile device, is used to process the received signals and provide users with real-time feedback about their status. Persuasive functions are designed and implemented in the interactive application to encourage users' physical activity. Two signal processing algorithms are developed to analyze the data regarding heart and activity. A user study is conducted to evaluate the performance and usability of the developed system.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the potential predictors of leisure behavior intention using the theory of planned behavior(TPB). A convenience sample of 369 participants was obtained from university students in Korea and America. For the purposes of this study, potential predictors of leisure behavior intention were selected from the following categories: attitude, subject norm, perceived behavior control, group conformity and face saving. In order to better understand the dynamics of the TPB process that influenced leisure behavior intention, this study used structural equation modeling(SEM) to test the TPB model. According to the results, attitude, subject norm, and perceived behavior control influenced to leisure behavior intention of both Korean and American university students and face saving influenced to leisure behavior intention of Korean university students. However, group conformity did not influence to leisure behavior intention of either Korean and American university students. For future study, more specific and decomposed factors are recommended to understand leisure behavior intention in theoretical way.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the mass media's news framing on the elderly leisure. For this, researchers collected news articles from daily newspapers such as Chosun Ilbo, Hankyoreh, Kyunghyang Shinmun, and analysed the news framing of them through text-analytic approach. Total of 153 news the about elderly leisure between 1990 and 2010 were used for frame analysis. The Frame analyses were divided by formal frame and content frame. The formal frame was formed by deduction based on the classification method of Iyergar(1991) and the content frame was formed by induction according to the analysis of overall themes and titles of news. The main result could be summarized as follows: First, the analysis of formal frame showed that the episodic frame was predominantly high which focused on specific event or occurrences about elderly leisure. Second, it was found by content frame analysis that elderly leisure's facilities, health, serious leisure, policy frame were main subjects of news framing.

  • The benefits and risks of whole body vibration (WBV) based acceleration training on the human body have been documented for many years. WBV training has been shown to increase muscular strength, explosive power, bone strength, performance, mobility, cardiovascular function, circulation and anabolic hormone level and so on. The purpose of this review is correct understanding and application of WBV training. Without proper understanding, rather, to apply WBV to the human body can be fatal harm, and therefore know that what is vibration and has advantages and disadvantages. If there is anything positive side there is bound to the negative aspects. In this regard, WBV training can have a positive impact on the already confirmed by several studies and also, there have been scientifically proven. But still we are part of a scientific approach that is acceptable even to keep in mind that you will always coexist. Once again, the effect of WBV with a physical stimulus that risk and should be remembered. In addition, given the momentum and how to exercise and well-being well aware that vibration exercise as a way to think of how not to be familiar with.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between stress and leisure satisfaction of college student athletes. The participants comprised 140 of the college student athletes. The measures were composed of stress inventory and leisure satisfaction scale. The data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 Version frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The level of significance was set up .05. The results were as follows: First, according to college, there was significant difference in economic burden, environmental condition, and course factor. Second, in regard with multiple regression analysis on relationships between the stress and leisure satisfaction of the college student athletes, discriminative evaluation, environmental condition, and course factor had positive effect on leisure satisfaction.

The subjects of this study was the group that spectator professional sport game. For those sheet, judged to be insincere and to be unsuitable for the purpose of this study, and were missing questions excluded. SPSS 13.0 for window statistics package and AMOS 5.0 for window statistics package were used for data analysis. The goodness of the model was confirmed by data analysis and then the hypotheses testing were conducted. The findings are as follows: Firstly, brand associations(rivalry, commitment, play, socialization, success, history) have a significant effect on brand loyalty. But brand mark didn't have a significant effect on brand loyalty. Secondly, brand awareness(identification, internalization) have a significant effect on brand loyalty.

  • To compare the cooking methods (boling, steaming) for broccoli, the extracts from water or 80% ethanol were used to determine total polyphenols, total flavonoids, and antioxidant activities. The total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of both fresh and boiled or steamed broccoli were found to be higher in the 80% ethanol extract compared to the water extract. Nine glucosinolates were identified in broccoli using high-performance liquid chromatography. The glucosinolate content was found to be higher in steamed broccoli compared to fresh broccoli; however, in boiled broccoli, the glucosinolate content decreased by 5.74-18.64% compared with fresh broccoli. It was confirmed that antioxidant activity decreased through heat treatment such as boiling or steaming compared to unheated broccoli. In particular, the decrease in antioxidant activity was higher in boiled broccoli than in steamed broccoli. The results suggested that it would be preferable to use raw or steamed broccoli rather than boiling it in water to minimize the loss of bioactive substances when consuming broccoli.
