  • In this paper, an approach to adaptive finite element analysis of three-dimensional forging processes is presented with emphasis on remeshing. In the approach, an optimal tetrahedral element generation technique is employed and the mesh density is specified by the combination of the weighted normalized effective strain and the normalized effective strain rate as well as the weighted normalized curvature. The approach is applied to computer simulation of an enclosed die forging process of a bevel gear and its results are compared with its related experiments. It has been shown that the analyzed results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.

  • The odontogenic myxoma is an benign, slow growing neoplasm which is of ectomesenchymal origin. This neoplasm occurs almost exclusively in the jaw bones and comprises 0.2% to 17.7% of odontogenic tumors. The odontogenic myxoma may show a wide spectrum of radiographic appearances, unilocular, multilocular radiolucency and a distinct or diffuse border, making the differential diagnosis difficult. We present a case of the odontogenic myxoma in the maxilla with conventional and recent image modalities. Occlusal film revealed a medially extended multilocular lesion with intralesional fine and straight trabeculations from the scalloped margin and buccal expansion and thinning of cortical bone. Computed tomogram revealed lesion showed equivalent density to the muscles in the left maxillary sinus with partial cortical discontinuity of medial wall and the tennis-racket pattern with internal straight trabeculations. MRI revealed intermediate signal intensity on Tl weighted image and high signal intensity on T2 weighted image. In Gd enhanced MR image, the peripheral portions of the lesion were enhanced.

  • In this article, we consider a Bayesian estimation method for the geometric mean of $textsc{k}$ exponential parameters, Using the Tibshirani's orthogonal parameterization, we suggest an invariant prior distribution of the $textsc{k}$ parameters. It is seen that the prior, probability matching prior, is better than the uniform prior in the sense of correct frequentist coverage probability of the posterior quantile. Then a weighted Monte Carlo method is developed to approximate the posterior distribution of the mean. The method is easily implemented and provides posterior mean and HPD(Highest Posterior Density) interval for the geometric mean. A simulation study is given to illustrates the efficiency of the method.

  • This paper describes a normalized numeric image descriptor used to assess the luminance and contrast of the image. The proposed image descriptor used the each pixel data as weighted value of the probability density function (PDF) and defined by normalization in order to objective represent. The proposed image numeric descriptor can be used to the adaptive gamma process because it suggests the objective basis of the gamma value selection.

  • A five-year-old spayed female Labrador retriever presented with right forelimb lameness one day earlier. Radiographs and computed tomography of the right shoulder joint revealed conspicuous enthesophytes, bone cyst, and bone fragment at the intertubercular groove. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a loss of continuity of the biceps tendon and inhomogeneous hyperintense signal of the surrounding soft tissue and moderate synovial fluid on T2- and proton density-weighted images with contrast enhancement on the postcontrast T1-weighted images. The dog was diagnosed with tenosynovitis and biceps tendon rupture with osteoarthritis based on a comprehensive evaluation of the computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging features.

  • A histogram equalization method have been used traditionally for the image enhancement of low quality images. This uses the transformation function, which is a cumulative density function of an input image, and it has mathematically maximum entropy. This method, however, may yield whitening artifacts. This paper proposes the weighted histogram equalization method based on histogram equalization. It has Weber-Fechner's law for a human's vision characteristics, and a dynamic range modification to solve the problem of some methods, which yield a transformation function, regardless of the input image. Finally, the proposed transformation function was calculated using the weighted average of Weber-Fechner and the histogram equalization transformation functions in a modified dynamic range. The simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm effectively enhances the contrast in terms of the subjective quality. In addition, the proposed method has similar or higher entropy than the other conventional approaches.

  • In this paper, we firstly presented the definitions of arithmetic ${\mathcal{I}}$-statistically convergence, ${\mathcal{I}}$-lacunary arithmetic statistically convergence, strongly ${\mathcal{I}}$-lacunary arithmetic convergence, ${\mathcal{I}}$-Cesàro arithmetic summable and strongly ${\mathcal{I}}$-Cesàro arithmetic summable using weighted density via Orlicz function ${\tilde{\phi}}$. Then, we proved some theorems associated with these concepts, and we examined the relationship between them. Finally, we establish some sequential properties of ${\mathcal{I}}$-lacunary arithmetic statistical continuity.

  • The planning and management of the watershed environment require huge amount of information regarding almost all aspects of natural and manmade features of the area. Until lately this study could be achieved through days of exhaustive surveys map generation and tedious calculations. Remote sensing and GIS provides huge temporal database for an area and GIS provides the powerful tool for spatial and non-spatial analysis of remotely sensed data. The paper highlights the assessment of land potentiality using weighed overlay analysis with drainage density, soil, slope and lineament, LULC map was used to identify the utilization area of the watershed. The arithmetic overlay analysis was performed with potential and utilization layer to assess the availability of land for the future development.
