A Survey on Public Web Service Repositories (공공 웹서비스 저장소에 대한 연구조사)

  • Web service Technology has been developing rapidly as it provides a flexible application-to-application interaction mechanism. Several ongoing research efforts focus on various aspects of Web service technology, including the modeling, specification, discovery, composition and verification of Web services. The approaches advocated are often conflicting-based as they are differing expectations on the current status of Web services as well as differing models of their future evolution. One way of deciding the relative relevance of the various research directions is to look at their applicability to the currently available Web services. To this end, we conducted a survey on currently publicly available Web service repositories. Our aim is to get an idea of the number, complexity and composability of these Web services and see if this analysis provides useful information about the near-term fruitful research directions.

  • The success of a Web information system(WIS) can be achieved only if it is developed in a proper and rigorous manner. As WIS has currently assumed a greater significance in organizations, WIS developers need a better understanding of methodologies supporting the process of developing WIS. Existing literature provides few guidelines to the WIS developers. This work provides a comprehensive review and a comparative study of the current approaches available in the WIS field that use different methodologies and techniques to develop WIS. The goal of this paper is to compare the WIS development methodologies and techniques in literature, provide practical guidelines, and generate new research issues.

  • So far, there were a few web-based distance English learning systems for children. The existing systems for children have not appropriately reflected their learning characteristics and interests, since most of those systems regards mainly adults as targets. This thesis is aimed at proposing more effective educational service modules of web-based real-time system in order to encourage children's interests as much as possible in learning English. The web-based real-time distance learning system is a model based on the survey over the current use and satisfaction status of elementary school students who have actually used those kinds of systems. With the great expectation of more effective way of learning English, it also focuses on attracting parents to participate the learning process by providing a service to look over, in real-time, what their children do through the internet-based English learning system.

  • A literature analysis for the planning and realization of meta database system was carried out to establish the ocean electronic resources, the first in Korea. The study targeted from web resources and to oceanographic survey data. The focus of the analysis lies in the providing practical information retrieval service for ocean electronic resources based on the framework of effective Dublin Core metadata with network resources description. The analyses included ocean electronic resources, metadata descriptive elements, metadata classification, system organization and retrieval for planning and implementation of meta database system.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the residents' awareness toward the differentiation of design factors in apartments in order to offer the information helpful to housing designers. Documentary research and questionnaire survey methods were used in this study. In this survey, internet web survey was carried out using questionnaire tool that was extracted in the Preliminary survey. This web survey was carried out on 124 housewives from January 6 2004 to January 20 2004. Data were analyzed with the SPSS PC+ window version 11.0. The major results of this study are as follows. 1) Residents' educational level is high and they are so young nuclear family and they live in Seoul and metropolitan area. 2) They want 85$m^2$ type apartment and the dress room that is so large. 3) Although they have evaluate very Important factors to architectural design which are apartment plan design, space design, interior design, storage design, equipment and high-tech system design, it seems that they are interested in interior design among the design factors in apartments. 4) There is significant difference the evaluation of importance toward the differentiation of design factors in apartments according to housing size when they move to go.

Success Factors for Web-based Agricultural Information Systems (웹기반 농업정보시스템 성공요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study reviews and modifies general IS success models to find success factors of WIS(Web-based Information Systems) and to confirm the relationship between WIS success and user's satisfaction of web use. A WISSM(Web-based Information Success Model extended to include EQ(E-Quality) is developed to anticipate user's intention to use Web-based Agricultural Information System and fit into the survey data from 252 WIS users of RDA(Rural Development Administration). PLS is applied to estimate a structural model based on EQ-WISSM to test hypotheses including 1) users reach a high level of intention to use Web-based Information Systems when they feel a high level of interactivity among an 'E-Quality', 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction' and 'Task Support Satisfaction', and E-Quality boosts intention to use Web-based Information Systems. The results show high path coefficients and $R^2$ values and find followings; First, the EQ-WISSM explains the user's intention to use WAIS quite well. Second, E-Quality can be used well in web-based IS environment to predict IS Success. Finally, this research finds the importance of 'Task Support Satisfaction' as a mediator between 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction', 'E-Quality' and 'Intention to Use'.

Development of the Railroad Geotechnical Information Management System Using Web GIS (웹 GIS 기반 철도 지반정보 관리프로그램의 개발)

  • Railroad geotechnical information management system was developed by using Web GIS and DB in this study. The standardization of railroad geotechnical information is progressed by classifying three groups as like basic informations, vibration informations along railway lines and design drawings. The basic informations consisted of basic and dynamic properties of soils, geophysical exploration and seismic survey/exploration. And the specification for 'human exposure to whole-body vibration' was adopted to construct the vibration informations along railway lines. The informations as like drawings and photographs were saved by changing to graphic files in the standardization of design drawings. In the case of standardization of geographical information, the topographical maps(NGIS, 1:5000) were primarily used as digital maps. Another digital maps(KRRI, 1:5000) and their geographical DB based on NGI code system were added on this maps. The standardized informations were used to construct their database. And railroad information management system was developed using Entity-Relation(ER) model which had a good feasibility for expansion and transition to other system in designing stage of database. This system consisted of layer selection, search and analysis of geotechnical informations and Zeus DB was adopted for GIS operating and user interface. This system could be a good tool for saving, searching and analyzing the geotechnical and geophysical informations. These DB systems would offered the basic informations to plans, design and construction of railroad lines etc. in practical use.

  • Recently, software distribution method, along with advent of era of Web 2.0, is rapidly evolving from ASP(Application Service Provider) method into SaaS(Soft as a Service) method due to development in concepts and technologies including SOA(Service Oriented Architecture) Web Service, On Demand and Component. Determining factor in market competitiveness of newly emerging SaaS business model will be analyzed by focusing on Group-Wares, POS(Point of Sale) System, CRM(Customer Relationship Management) and ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning), which are the most representative SaaS business models in Korea. It is anticipated that the outcome of analysis of determining factors for market competitiveness for each of the main SaaS Business Models acquired through questionnaire survey can be utilized as important benchmarking material in setting the direction of cultivating SaaS market by the government as well as new entries into SaaS market.

  • This paper suggests the system for searching and application is to be in combination between existing hair art area and Image/Video processing area. This proposed system usually saves various hair types into a database, then, users send images of their face over the internet by using WebCam. Finally, they can find the hair types for users. Hair cutting is technology that form draft to make hair style. Man cut must decide how in image of sinciput, image of side bean curd, after lower image must operate. Silhouette is produced as is different by change of this three places. Customer increases in the beauty salon and beauty salon chain being changed, research about beauty art is necessary point of time. In this treatise, our country of when swim and operate haircut about problem that happen sample survey and analysis.

  • This study explores factors to facilitate web-based collaborative learning and the effect of learning, based on the PBL(Problem Based Learning) from the constructivist approach in e-learning. A research model, using the key variables such as situations, interactions, and systems, was developed. In order to test this proposed model, experimental design and post-survey was conducted to the learners who took on-line and off-line course with team project. In the research model, situation category was divided into instructor's support, unstructured problem, and self-directed learning. Interaction category was divided into three factors; 'interaction between learners', 'interaction between learner and instructor', and 'interaction between learner and technology'. System category was divided into.monitoring and incentives. As a result, it was found that collaborative learning can be improved by situations, interactions, and systems, and the effectiveness of learning can be improved by situations and interactions in PBL.
