  • In this paper, we developed the web content of statistical analysis using statistical package and Active Server Page (ASP). A statistical package is very difficult to learn and use for non-statisticians, however, non-statisticians want to do analyze the data without learning statistical packages such as SAS, S-plus, and R. Therefore, we developed the web based statistical analysis contents using S-plus which is the popular statistical package and ASP. In real application, we developed the web content for various statistical analyses such as exploratory data analysis, analysis of variance, and time series on the web using water quality data. The developed statistical analysis web content is very useful for non-statisticians such as public service person and researcher. Consequently, combining a web based contents with a statistical package, the users can access the site quickly and analyze data easily.

  • Driven by the growth of the Internet and the increasing ubiquity of embedded computing systems, the embedded system is exploding in terms of it proliferation of products and the number of complex applications. Intelligent dedicated systems and appliances used in interface, monitoring, communications, and control applications increasingly demand the services of a sophisticated, state-of-the-art operating system. In the case of industrial controller, it is required to use a real-time operating system (RTOS) as a good building block to enable Internet connectivity. However, commercial RTOSes are increasingly less desirable due to their lack of standardization and their inability to keep pace with the rapid evolution of technology. In order to overcome these problems, we consider using embedded Linux and embedded web server. Availability of source code, reduced licensing, reliability, open source community support, as well as others, are key reasons for the use of embedded linux by embedded developers. In this paper, we develop embedded linux platform to control the industrial inverter with the Internet connecting feature. The method of web-based management is also proposed by using the embedded web server and Java applet. We show the feasibility of remote management for the commercial inverter controller with the proposed three-tier web-based remote management system.

  • This paper Proposes the individual roles for developing small web application systems based on the Client/Server architecture with the activities and artifacts of each role and cooperation. The roles of Web Server part (i.e. User Interface Designer, Web Designer, HTML Writer), the roles of Application Server part (i.e. Domain Expert, Application Developer, Tester) and the roles of DB Server part (i.e. Database Administrator, Data Designer) are described. Furthermore, the role of the Development Leader that participates in development and manages all works in project and finds the solutions of problems in project, is also discussed. The Domain Expert analyzes the domain of the application in order to send the artifacts to the Application Developer. Then the Application Developer analyzes, designs and implements the application based on the artifacts of the Domain Expert and integrates the implemented program modules. Roles are related each other in this way, and cooperate until the application development is completed. Finally, we analyzed and compared these roles with the roles of RUP(Rational Unified process) and web wave. Suggested roles in this paper turned out to be efficient compared to the roles of the existing large-scale methodology.

  • As Web services need to manage lots of information, it is indispensable to reduce server's load and speed up processing time. In this paper, we analyze the loading problems of server and suggest designing methods for light loaded Web applications based on .NET. The proposed methods include using a relative database to produce minimized modules and Stored Procedures to simplify SQL statements for reducing sever's load. Web pages are organized with scripts replacing server language, which improve server's capability by reducing loads. The execution time is also speeded up by organizing Web pages with User Controls. And XML/EDI is used for managing the effective exchange of documents. The proposed methods are implemented as an education management system and shows its effectiveness.

  • As the number of websites managed by organizations or organizations increases, so does the number of web application servers and containers. In checking the status of the web service of the web application server and the container, it is very difficult for the person to check the status of the web service after accessing the physical server at the remote site through the terminal or using other accessible software It. Previous research on crawler-related research is hard to find any reference to the processing of data from crawling. Data loss occurs when the crawler accesses the database and stores the data. In this paper, we propose a method to store the inspection data according to crawl - based web application server management without losing data.

  • This study intended to demonstrate a general system as an web server implemented by pure software solution and focused on collecting data by remote control through Internet and constructing its' control frame. To achieve these, this study suggested an optimized, low-power, ultra tiny embedded web server. When unpredictable accidents, such as heat sensor or industrial disasters, happen, it will connect sensors collecting building information each other by network and obtain final results via web porting, web hardware control or porting, or hardware test process in a boot loader on the basis of StrongARM SA-1110 processor.

  • A heterogeneous webserver such as an HTTP server should be able to currently deal with numerous users. To the end, it is inevitable to formally analyze web traffics as well as a webserver itself. In particular, as most systems adopt HTTP 1.1 protocol instead of HTTP 1.0 protocol, it is more difficult to represent the system as a simple analytic mode. In addition, since most of previous models missed the detailed processes of the server, it is unsuitable for the current server based on HTTP 1.1 to tune itself with its own system parameters. On the basis of HTTP 1.1 Protocol supporting persistent connections, we thus present an analytical end-to-end tandem queueing model considering specific hardware configurations inside the webserver, which ultimately covers from accepting the customer requests to completing the services.

  • WebDAV is an IETF standard protocol which support asynchronous collaborative authoring on the Web. The recently published WebDAV Access Control Protocol provides various methods of controlling the resources on a WebDAV server and their properties, helping high-level group activities to be performed through the WebDAV server. Based on the WebDAV access control protocol, we developed Group Workspaces which support exchanging and/or sharing data among the group members. Any member of a Group Workspace can create and share resources among the members. Also, any member can add, change or delete the resources. To support the Group Workspaces, we developed a client application named GroupExplorer, which solely supports Group Workspaces. We constructed the server for Group Workspaces using Jakarta Slide - a WebDAV server supporting the WebDAV Access Control Protocol.

  • The present research addresses the system design for building a geospatially-based web services application for mobile users. In recent years, geospatial information(GI) and Geographic Information Systems(GIS) are significant resources in decision-making analyses at various levels of society and activities. Recently, the integration of GIS and web services, called GIS web services, provides the wider implementation of GIS. At the present time, accessing, presenting, and manipulating updatedgeospatial information to locate geo-related facility services are real challenges related to application developers to implement for foot-travelers properly. The present paper investigates how the web services work in a GIS for discovering geo-related facility services such as a restaurant and post office in the user's vicinity. Thus, a prototype, with an architecture consisting of a windows application on the client side as well as facility services and geo-engineon the server side, were designed and implemented with the proposed GIS web services platform. On both the client and server sides, visual studio .Net technology was used. A geo-engine on the server side was also built with ESRI's MapObjects. Following successful implementation of the prototype presented in this study, the mobile user is able to invoke remote web services to assess the location of various facilities such as restaurants. Moreover, the present research demonstratesthat web services are not restricted only to web-based use, but can also be utilized by any web-connected application.

  • Web server cluster systems are widely used, where a large number of PC level servers are interconnected via network. This paper focuses on forecasting an appropriate number of web servers which can serve four different classes of user requests, simple web page viewing, knowledge query, motion picture viewing and motion picture uploading. Two ways of serving different classes of web service requests are considered, commonly used web servers and service dedicated web servers. Computer simulation experiments are performed in order to find a good way of allocating web servers among different classes of web service requests, maintaining certain levels of resource utilization and response time.
