  • In this paper. the stability and performance analysis of wave-based teleoperation system is presented. For stability and performance analysis with respect to the variation of characteristic impedance b, loop gains of communication channel and minimum value of trasmitted impedance from slave side to the master side are considered. The stability of slave side may be enhanced by increasing characteristic impedance b, whereas exssively high value of b may degrade the performance, which imply a tradeoff between stability and performance.

  • A weakly nonlinear solution is presented for the two-dimensional wave kinematics forced by a generic wavemaker of variable-draft. The solution is valid for both piston and hinged wavemakers of variable-draft that may be double articulated. The second-order propagating waves generated by a planar wave board are composed of two components; viz., a Stokes second-order wave and a second-harmonic wave forced by the wavemaker which travels at a different speed. A previously neglected time-independent solution that is required to satisfy a kinematic boundary condition on the wavemaker as well as a mixed boundary condition on the free surface is included for the first time. A component of the time-independent solution is found to accurately estimate the mean return current(correct to second-order) in a closed wave flume. This mean return current is usually estimated from kinematic considerations by a conservation of mass principle.

  • In this paper a method for finding solutions of acoustic, vortex and entropy wave equations in a cylindrical tube with variable section area was suggested under the consideration of that the high frequency instability in a rocket engine combustion chamber is an acoustic phenomena, which Is coupled with combustion reaction. and that a combustion chamber and exhaust nozzle are usually shaped cylindrically As a consequence of that some method. which enable the mathematical analysis of the influence of entropy and vortex waves to acoustic wave. was suggested. According to the method reflection coefficients of acoustic wave on a supercritical nozzle was numerically calculated, through which it was presented that entropy or vortex waves can strengthen or weaken the reflection rate of acoustic wave.

  • In this study, we suggested wave-variable Bragg lattice using the characteristic of the Bragg wave that varies according to the change of the temperature imposed on the optical fiber lattice device, and experimented using a simulation test. We analyzed the results of the FBG change according to the change of the temperature obtained in the variable FEG computer simulation and experiment to suggest optimal data. Therefore, utilizing wave-variable optical filter through FBG allows us to combine other channels beyond optical fiber lattice device wave, and can be used as a helpful device in the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexed system with a channel intervention of 0.08nm(10GHz).

  • A hybrid stabilization approach involving both Passivity Observer/passivity Controller and wave variables is addressed to stabilize the teleoperation system with time delay. To guarantee the stability of master or slave side, Passivity Observer and Passivity Controller are applied. But Passivity Observer and Passivity Controller technique cannot deal with communication delay and even small communication delay cause the system to be unstable. To cope with this problem, wave variables are additionally employed to have robustness to arbitrary delays. To show the validity of our proposed approach, several computer simulation results are illustrated.

  • This paper presents a new approach for the detection of seismic events using accumulated changes on time-frequency domain and variable threshold. To detect seismic P-wave arrivals with rapidness and accuracy, it is that the changes on the time and the frequency domains are simultaneously used. Their changes are parameters appropriated to reflect characteristics of earthquakes over moderate magnitude(${\geq}$ magnitude 4.0) and microearthquakes. In addition, adaptively controlled threshold values can prevent false P-wave detections due to low SNR. We tested our method on real earthquakes those have various magnitudes. The proposed algorithm gives a good detection performance and it is also comparable to STA/LTA algorithm in computational complexity. Computer simulation results shows that the proposed algorithm is superior to the conventional popular algorithm (STA/LTA) in the seismic P-wave detection.

  • A numerical shallow water wave deformation model to solve unsteady mild slope equation was develope(1. The energy equation of Izumiya and Horikawa(1984) for wave breaking and bottom friction was incorporated to estimate more realistically energy damping resulted from wave breaking and reflection. A numerical scheme for variable grid spacings was also introduced to complement the defect of unsteady mild slope equation limiting the grid spacings. This model was tested and compared with the existing analytic solutions and physical modelings, and applied to a practical situation.

  • The random variable with an arbitrary value or more is called semi-continuous variable or zero-inflated one in case that its boundary value is more frequently observed than expected. This means the boundary value is likely to be practically observed more than it should be theoretically under certain probability distribution. When the distribution considered is continuous, the variable is defined as semi-continuous and when one of discrete distribution is assumed for the variable, we regard it as zero-inflated. In this study, we introduce the two-part model, which consists of one part for modelling the binary response and the other part for modelling the variable greater than the boundary value. Especially, the zero-inflated regression models are explained by using Poisson distribution and negative binomial distribution. In real data analysis, we employ the zero-inflated regression models to estimate the number of days under extreme heat-wave circumstances during the last 10 years in South Korea. Based on the estimation results, we create prediction maps for the estimated number of days under heat-wave advisory and heat-wave warning by using the universal kriging, which is one of the spatial prediction methods.

  • Based on the Exp-function method and a suitable transformation, new generalized solitonary solutions including free parameters of the MDI and Sawada-Kotera equations with variable coefficients are obtained, form which solitary wave solutions and periodic solutions including some known solutions reported in open literature are derived as special cases. The free parameters in the obtained generalized solitonary solutions might imply some meaningful results in the physical models. It is shown that the Exp-function method provides a very effective and important new method for nonlinear evolution equations with variable coefficients.

  • This paper describes a mapping and localization based on wave algorithm[11] and Kalman filter for effective SLAM. Each robot in a multi robot system has its own task such as building a map for its local position. By combining their data into a shared map, the robot scans actively seek to verify their relative locations. For simultaneous localization the algorithm which is well known as Kalman Filter (KF) is used. For modelling the robot position we wish to know three parameters (x, y coordinates and its orientation) which can be combined into a vector called a state variable vector. The Kalman Filter is a smart way to integrate measurement data into an estimate by recognizing that measurements are noisy and that sometimes they should ignored or have only a small effect on the state estimate. In addition to an estimate of the state variable vector, the algorithm provides an estimate of the state variable vector uncertainty i.e. how confident the estimate is, given the value for the amount of error in it.
