  • The object of watermarking is to prevent from copying and distributing without the copyright or right of ownership. In case of using watermark as an image data we can detect watermark whether an original image exists or not. In this paper, we proposed that an image data is used for watermark and the watermark is detected without an original image. After the original image is transformed with DWT and the watermark is transformed with DCT, they are transformed with binary number. We calculate an optimal bit position for concealing watermark of an original binary image and insert the watermark and determine the best position for robustness against JPEG compression, filtering, and resampling attacks within inserted watermark image. In this paper, we are able to confirm the right of copyright and ownership easily while using invisible watermark and also we can detect a watermark without an original image.

  • In this paper, we proposed an effective technique for hiding the watermark in the LSB of a color image by applying spatial encryption techniques. Even if the watermark hidden in the LSB of the image is extracted, the information of the extracted watermark cannot be decrypted because the watermark is encrypted using various spatial encryption techniques. Therefore, if the watermark is concealed in the LSB using the spatial encryption techniques proposed in this paper, the security is greatly improved compared to the existing technique of embedding the watermark in the LSB. When watermarking is performed by applying the proposed technique, the image quality of the watermark-concealed image is very good, so it is impossible to distinguish it from the original image, and the watermark, which is confidential data, can be extracted from the watermarked image without loss. The performance of the proposed technique was mathematically analyzed and the superiority of the proposed technique was confirmed through experiments. When the watermark was concealed by applying the proposed technique to Lenna, airplane, Tiffany, and pepper images having a size of 512×512, the PSNR values of the watermarked images were 53.91dB, 54.10dB, 54.09dB, and 54.13dB, respectively.

  • Many digital watermarking methods have been proposed for copyright protection. Especially, methods to add a watermark in the frequency domain are often used. In those methods, only a few components of frequencies are changed according to watermark information, so that the pixel values of the image obtained by the inverse transform sometimes exceed the dynamic range and owing to the clipping process at this time watermark information is changed. This phenomenon even occurs without attacks like image processing. In this paper, we propose two methods to prevent loss of watermark information, applicable to such cases, it is said that one is the method called "inversion of increase and decrease" and another is "conservation of amounts of changes." We can extract the watermark information correctly under the condition of no attacks by using these proposed methods.

  • This paper proposes on the implementation of efficient image transmission system by generation and protection of watermark signals. For this, the image structure understanding is performed for improving the image quality and the generation of watermark signals. Then, the histogram is constructed and the watermark signals are selected from this. At this stage, by embedding of the coefficients of curve fittness into the lower 4 its of the image data pixels, image quality degradation due to the embedding of watermark signals are prevented. Finally, turbo encoding is performed to solve the problem of watermark signal losses that may occur on channels when transmitting. Especially, a new interleaving method called semi-random interleaver is proposed.

  • We proposes a multipurpose image watermarking algorithm which embeds visible watermark and invisible watermark into an original image. This is to satisfy the two characteristics of copyright notification of the visible watermark and copyright protection of the invisible watermark. The visible watermark's transparency is highlighted to be easily identified in contrast to the original image and the invisible watermark is embedded in a spatial domain.

  • This paper proposes a quick response (QR) barcode watermarking algorithm in order to improve readability of the QR barcode in a JPEG image. The proposed algorithm embeds a watermark in a wavelet based-low frequency band for watermark robustness, and visually extracts a QR barcode after embedding the QR barcode image with confidential information into the original image via imperceptible watermarking technology. The visually extracted QR barcode watermark uses an approach to authenticate the ownership more easily through a common hardware and software-based mobile barcode reader app. Therefore, the QR barcode watermark may improve the ability to easily detect watermarks efficiently as well as imperceptibility and robustness, which is the main watermark requirement by embedding the QR barcode with watermark text information in a digital image and when compare to conventional watermarks.

  • To effectively track the illegal use of digital images and maintain the security of digital image communication on the Internet, this paper proposes a reversible multipurpose image watermarking algorithm based on a deep residual network (ResNet) and perceptual hashing (also called MWR). The algorithm first combines perceptual image hashing to generate a digital fingerprint that depends on the user's identity information and image characteristics. Then it embeds the removable visible watermark and digital fingerprint in two different regions of the orthogonal separation of the image. The embedding strength of the digital fingerprint is computed using ResNet. Because of the embedding of the removable visible watermark, the conflict between the copyright notice and the user's browsing is balanced. Moreover, image authentication and traitor tracking are realized through digital fingerprint insertion. The experiments show that the scheme has good visual transparency and watermark visibility. The use of chaotic mapping in the visible watermark insertion process enhances the security of the multipurpose watermark scheme, and unauthorized users without correct keys cannot effectively remove the visible watermark.

  • In this paper, the technique for production and encoding of new dot-type print watermark is proposed. The print watermark has characteristics similar to those of the digital watermark and function as link which change various first informations(texts, symbols, figures, etc) on the printed matter to secondary contents (sound, video, character, etc) corresponding each to informations on the printed matter. The proposed dot-type print watermark pattern is represented as $16{\times}16$ matrix in $0.4mm^2$ area and dots are printed on only 23 elements of $16{\times}16$ matrix. The size of each dot is so small(0.02mm)that it can not be seen. Because position of printed dots correspond to the position of each digit in binary notation in this paper, they are encoded easily and there are about 8,000,000 watermark patterns enough to express first information of printed matters. It was showed that the proposed print watermark patterns are recognized without difficulty by the own recognition device.

  • Most watermarking schemes for video contents protection have been studied to increase watermark's robustness and invisibility against such compressions and many kinds of signal processing after embedding copyright information to the original contents. This paper proposes an active watermarking that infect watermark to contents in the video decoding process using embedded infectious watermark and control signals from a video encoder side. To achieve this algorithm, we design a kernel based watermarking in video encoder side that is possible to recover the original contents and watermark in watermark detection procedure perfectly. And then, by reversible de-watermarking in video decoder side, we design the active watermark infection method using detected watermark and control signal. This means that our system can provide secure re-distributions of video contents without any quality degration and watermark bit error against transcoding or re-encoding processing. By experimental results, we confirmed that the embedded watermark was infected by video contents and codec perfectly without any declines of compression ratio and video quality.

  • The infectious information hiding system(IIHS) is proposed for secure distribution of high quality video contents by applying optimized watermark embedding and detection algorithms to video codecs. And the watermark as infectious information is transmitted while target video is displayed or edited by codecs. This paper proposes a fast and effective reversible watermarking and infectious information generation for IIHS. Our reversible watermarking scheme enables video decoder to control video quality and watermark strength actively for by adding control code and expiration date with the watermark. Also, we designed our scheme with low computational complexity to satisfy it's real-time processing in a video codec, and to prevent time or frame delay during watermark detection and video restoration, we embedded one watermark and one side information within a macro-block. Experimental results verify that our scheme satisfy real-time watermark embedding and detection and watermark error is 0% after reversible watermark detection. Finally, we conform that the quality of restored video contens is almost same with compressed video without watermarking algorithm.
