하천 만곡률과 홍수량에 따른 수면경사도 산정 (Estimation of the Water Surface Slope by the River Bend Curvature and Flood Discharge)

  • 본 연구는 만곡하천의 단면을 만곡률에 따라 1 2차원 수치해석을 실시하였다. 수치해석 결과 유 출입각에 따른 수위 편차가 발생하였으며, 홍수량 변동에 따른 편차가 증가하였다. 2차원 수치모형에 의한 수위편차를 보면 유 출입각 105도 일 때 홍수량 500CMS에서 최대경사가 6.67%가 나타났다. 우측은 90도를 초과하는 경우 1차원 수치모형과의 편차가 감소하였으며, 좌측의 수위는 105도를 초과하는 경우 1차원 수치모형과의 편차가 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 이는 90도 이상의 만곡하천의 경우 수치해석보다는 수리모형실험을 통하여 검증하는 것이 바람직하겠다.

  • 본 연구에서는 유동 조건을 표시하는 무차원 수로 널리 이용되고 있는 Richa- rdson수(R$_{i}$)를 변수로 하여 R$_{i}$의 변화에 따른 온도 분포, 표면 유동 속도와 확산율 등을 연구하였다. 아울러 이러한 열 구배에 의한 성층화 유동(stratifield flow)에서 R$_{i}$가 유동 특성과 어떤 상관 관계를 가지는 가를 알아보기 위하여 같 은 R$_{i}$값을 갖는 다른 조건들의 실험을 수행하였다. 비슷한 R$_{i}$값에서의 온 도 분포를 비교 분석함으로써 아직까지 정립되고 있지 않는 열오염 현상 해석에서의 지배 변수로서의 R$_{i}$의 위치를 확인하고, 부력 효과에 의한 흐름의 난류 구조가 어떻게 영향 받는가 하는 문제에도 관심을 두었다.제에도 관심을 두었다.

Effects of Oxygen Plasma Treatment on the Wettability of Polypropylene Fabrics

  • The objective of this study is to give PP(polypropylene) fabric a good affinity for water. Oxygen plasma was treated to PP fabrics in a commercial glow discharge reactor with different RF power, discharge pressure, and reaction time. The PP fiber surfaces were characterized by the measurement of contact angle and ESCA. A JEOL scanning electron microscope was used to observe the surface morphology of fibers. The spontaneous water uptake amount of PP fabrics was determined by the demand wettability test. To determine the effect of aging on the surface properties of $O_2$ plasma treated PP, all the above measurements of the samples were carried out after 1, 7, 30, 60, and 150 days. The results are as follows. The PP fiber surfaces treated by $O_2$ plasma treatment have a chemical composition that consisted of various oxygen containing polar groups. Consequently, the contact angles of the treated PP fibers decreased, which improved the water uptake rate of PP fabrics. Surface roughness of the treated PP affected the fabric wettabiity as well. Wettability of the treated PP decreased and leveled off with aging. The $O_2$ plasma treatment is a simple and effective method to increase the water uptake rate of PP fabrics.

홍수터 식생을 고려한 불규칙한 단면에서의 수위-유량 곡선 및 단위유량 횡분포 예측 (Prediction of Stage Discharge Curve and Lateral Distribution of Unit Discharge in an Arbitrary Cross Section Channel with Floodplain Vegetation)

  • 본 연구에서는 복단면개수로및 불규칙한 하상을보이는 횡단면 상에서의 수위-유량곡선 및단위유량횡분포예측을 위한 유한요소모형을 개발하였다. 지배방정식은 정상류와 종방향 등류를 가정한 운동량방정식을 이용하며, 수면은 횡단면에 걸쳐 일정하다고 가정한다. 홍수터 식생의 영향을 반영하기 위해 식생항력이 지배방정식에 포함되었으며, 수치해를 구하기 위해 유한요소법을 적용하였다. 단면형상과 Manning의 조도계수, 식생정보, 종방향 하상경사를 입력자료로 수위-유량 곡선을 예측 가능하며, 주어진 수위에서의 흐름방향 단위유량의 횡방향 분포를 예측할 수 있다. 개발된 모형의 검증을 위해 실측자료 및 Darby and Thorne (1996)의 모형 결과, 그리고 비선형 k-$\epsilon$ 모형의 결과와도 비교하였다. 검증된 모형의 알고리즘을 2차원 모형의 상류단 경계조건 설정에 활용하여, 유입유량을 절점별 단위유량으로 분배시켰을 때와 그렇지 않았을 때의 결과를 비교하였다.

초극세형 폴리프로필렌부직포의 플라즈마를 이용한 표면개질 (Surface Modification of Polypropylene Meltblown(PPMB) Nonwovens by Plasma Treatment)

  • On the purpose of surface modifications of polypropylene meltblown(PPMB) nonwovens, PPMB nonwovens were treated in the plasma system by oxygen atmosphere with different treatment time and discharge power. Dimensional change and physical properties of the treated nonwovens were evaluated. Contact angles onto PPMB nonwovens about water and methyleneiodide were measured and surface energies were calculated by Owen's method. As the results, microcraters were observed on the surface of treated nonwovens. Tenacity and breaking strain of PPMB nonwovens decreased with increasing treatment time and discharge power. Surface energy of PPMB nonwovens increased by plasma treatment. Meanwhile, the friction static voltage and dyeability of PPMB nonwovens have enhanced to some extent by oxygen plasma treatment due to the improvement of surface hydrophilicity.

Water Balance and Flushing Time in the Restricted Indian River Lagoon (IRL), Florida USA

  • The water balance calculation in the IRL shows that fresh groundwater discharge is the primary factor, with surface runoff from gaged and ungaged areas as the second freshwater contributor. Precipitation and evaporation are almost in balance fer the entire IRL. Due to high freshwater discharge from ground-water, the annual net flow is outward from the IRL to the continental shelf of the Atlantic Ocean resulting in a relatively short flushing time, denoted as $T_{0.5}$ (50% flushing time) and $T_{0.99}$ (99% flushing time). $T_{0.5}$, and. $T_{0.99}$ without a tidal effect in the Northern IRL are 17 and 114 days, respectively, during the dry season. During the wet season, they are 10 and 65 days, respectively. Tidal flushing effects are considered in central IRL due to the proximity to Sebastian Inlet. In the Northern Central zone during dry season, $T_{0.5}$, and. $T_{0.99}$ are 6 and 43 days, respectively and during the wet season 5 and 33 days. In the Southern Central zone they are 2 and 16 days for the dry season,2 and 15 days for the wet season. High groundwater seepage into the IRL is considered to be a positive effect in maintaining relatively good water quality condition even with few narrow inlets.

표층수를 방류하는 저수지(용담호)에서 몬순 탁수환경의 공간적 해석 (Spatial Interpretation of Monsoon Turbid-water Environment in a Reservoir (Yongdam) Discharging Surface Water, Korea)

  • In this study, temperature, turbidity, suspended paniculate matter (SPM) distribution and mineral characteristics were investigated to explain spatial distribution of the turbid-water environment of Yongdam reservoir in July, 2005. Six stations were selected along a longitudinal axis of the reservoir and sampling was conducted in four depths of each station. Water temperature was showed the typical stratified structure by the effects of irradiance and inflow. Content of inorganic matter in suspended particles increased with the concentration of suspended particulate matter (SPM) due to the reduction of ash-free dry matter (AFDM). Turbidity ranged from 0.6 to 95.1 NTU and the maximum turbidity value of each station sharply increased toward downstream from upstream. The high turbidity layers were located at the depth between 12~16 m. Particle size ranged from 0.435 to $482.9{\mu}m$. day and silt-sized particles corresponded 91.9~98.9% and 1.1~8.0% in total numbers of SPM, respectively. Turbidity showed high correlations with clay (r=0.763, p<0.05) and silt content (r=0.870, p<0.05).Inorganic matter content (r=0.960, p<0.01) was more correlated with turbidity than organic matter (r=0.823, p<0.05). Mineral characterization using x-ray diffraction and electron probe microanalyzer demonstrated that the major minerals contained in the SPM were kaolinite, illite, vermiculite and smectite. As results of this study, surface water discharge as well as small size of the SPM were suggested as long-term interfering factors in settling down the turbid water in the reservoir.

부산지역의 해저용출수 전기비저항탐사 (Resistivity Exploration of Submarine Groundwater Discharge in Busan Area)

  • This study selected the promising area of submarine groundwater discharge(SGD) that flows into the sea following unconfined physical aquifer through the electrical resistivity survey of the land and sea. The submarine groundwater discharge(SGD) mostly flows into the sea following fracture zones, and the detection of the fault zone becomes the important guideline of groundwater discharge. Electrical sounding of the land assessed the groundwater flow and integration possibility according to the location of a fault that is a water path between underground reservoir and surface water as well as a rock fracture. In addition, the study conducted sea electrical resistivity to expand the area with high potential and selected the expected water potential groundwater area. The areas of the study were Busan and coastal areas, and for the terrain analysis, the candidates of the ground exploration were selected after analyzing lineaments that is expanded to coast direction.

유전체 장벽 방전내에서 오존발생 특성 (Ozone Generation Characteristics in Dielectric Barrier Discharge)

  • The dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) is a common method to create a nonthermal plasma in which electrical energy is used to create electrons with a high average kinetic energy. The unique aspect of dielectric barrier discharges is the large array of short lifetime(10ns) silent discharges created over the surface of the dielectric. A silent discharge is generated when the applied voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage of the carrier gas creating a conduction path between the applied electrode and grounded electrode. As charge accumulates on the dielectric, the electric field is reduced below the breakdown field of the carrier gas and the silent discharge self terminates preventing the DBD cell from producing a thermal arc. In fact, the most significant application of dielectric barrier discharges is to generate ozone for contaminated water treatment. Therefore, experiments were perfomed at 1∼2[bar] pressure using a coaxial geometry single dielectric barrier discharge for ozone concentrations and energy densities. The main result show that the concentration and efficiency of ozone are influenced by gas nature, gas quantity, gas pressure, supplied voltage and frequency.

  • 원자력·화력, 제철소 등의 임해공업시설로부터 온수 방출의 확산에 대한 정성, 정량적 예측은 환경관리 및 냉각수 취·배수로 설계에 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 난류 및 부력효과가 강한 온배수의 주요 물리적 특성을 규명하고 실무에 많이 사용되고 있는 MIT 및 PDS 적분모델의 비교평가를 실시하였다. 일반적으로 MIT 및 PDS 모델은 성층화되지 않은 수역에서 주위수 및 제트 방출각도를 고려하여 온배수 거동을 산정하는 모델이다. 해석결과는 그 구성의 상이성에 의해 매우 다름이 규명되어, 온배수의 정확한 산정을 위해서는 난류모델을 이용한 수치모델의 개발 및 이의 적용이 요구된다.
