  • To prepare a durable softening water repellent, quaternized octadecyl methacrylate-2-diethyl-aminoethyl methacrylate as a mother resin and quaternized 1, 3-dioctadecyl-2, 7-dioxy-6, 8-di(2-hydroxyethyl)-1, 3, 6, 8-tetraazacyclodecane which increase the softening effect and the hydrostatic pressure blended with waxes and their emulsifier in various proportions to give water repellent PADWC. As the results of the measurement of water repellency, washable, tear strength and crease recovery to polyestercotton(P/C) blended fabrics treated with PADWC only or addition of textile finishing resin, the physical properties were increased. There was no significant lowering effect in water repellency when PADWC was treated the antistatic agent by the one-bath method, and the effect of water repellency by the adding the catalyst was studied. PADWC was confirmed as durable water repellent with the results of making little difference of water repellency as ${\pm}5$ point after and before washing.

  • Frictional sound of 13 vapor permeable water repellent fabric by sound generator were recorded and analysed through FFT analysis. The frictional Sounds were quantified by calculating total sound pressure(LPT), the level range ΔL and the frequency difference Δf. Mechanical properties were measured by KES-FB. LPT values of specimens finished wet coating were higher than those of dry coating. Values for bending rigidity, shear stiffness, surface roughness and compressional recovery of polyurethane fabrics increased compared with the cire finished fabrics. Laminated fabrics had high values of frictional coefficient and low values of surface roughness. LPT showed significant correlation with compressional energy, weight and thickness. (ΔL) was highly correlated with compressional linearity, frictional coefficient, compressional recovery, and (Δf) with tensile linearity, compressional energy, thickness, and weight.

  • Tn this present study, the superhydrophobic surface was developed on the cement mortar surface by using water repellent materials. For better superhydropohicity, it was developed by using silane as binder and which was enriched with filler materials of SiO2 and TiO2 nanomaterials. Those nanomaterials enriched with silanes were admixed in cement mortar during casting time and another was coated on the cement mortar surface. The water repellent properties of spray coated and admixed cement mortars were evaluated by measuring the contact angle which was compared with normal cement mortar.

4불화탄소 플라즈마처리에 의한 폴리에스테르 직물의 발수가공 (Water Repellent Finish of Polyester Fabric Using Carbontetrafluoride Plasma Treatment)

  • In order to produce a water repellent surface on polyester fabric, samples were treated in the atmosphere of $CF_4$ glow discharge plasma. The samples used in the study were ployester fabric and poyester film. The purpose of film treatment is for the comparison of hydrophobicity with fabric sample at same treatment condition. Radio frequency(13.56MHz) generator was used as electric source and its in put power is 100 Watt. Water repellency was evaluated by contact angle measurement. Result obtained are as follows. 1) Fiber interstice of original fabric was ana lysed as 0.43$\mu$m, and this value was sufficiently ideal for making water repellent fabric. 2) The most favorable setting position of substrate was the center area between two electrodes. 3) Fabric contact angle was higher than film contact angle at same treatment condition, and its difference was more than 50${\circ}$. And it was incapalbe of fabric contact angle measurement when the film contact angle was less than 90${\circ}$. because the fabric is susceptible to absorption of water by the capillary effect. 4) Fabric contact angle can not revealed the precise defferences of surface hydrophobicity, however, the film contact angle showed the real hydrophobic nature. 5) It was not sufficient method to evaluate the hydrophobicity of fabric surface by merely measure of the water contact angle. 6) It showed high water repellent nature at 0.06 torr of $CF_4$ plasma gas pressure and duration of 45 seconds treatment, and it can not be anticipated more improved nature if the pressure and duration of treatment time were increased.

TiO2 나노입자 코팅에 의한 PET섬유의 초발수성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Super-hydrophobicity of Poly(ethylene terephthalate) Fabric by TiO2 Nano-particles Coating)

  • Studies on plants such as lotus leaf suggested that dual-scale structure could contribute to super-hydrophobicity. We introduced super-hydrophobicity onto poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET) fabric with dual-scale structure by assembling $TiO_2$ nano sol. PET fabric was treated with $TiO_2$ sol, water-repellent agent using various parameters such as particle size, concentration. Morphological changes by particle size were observed using field emmission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) and AFM measurement, contact angle measurement equipment. The contact angle of water was about 138.5$^{\circ}$, 125.8$^{\circ}$, 125.5$^{\circ}$ and 108.9$^{\circ}$ for PET fabric coated with 60.2nm, 120.1nm, 200nm and 410.5nm $TiO_2$ particles, compared with about 111.5$^{\circ}$ for PET fabric coated with water repellent. When we mixed particle sizes of 60.2nm and 120.1nm by 7:3 volume ratio, the contact angle of water was about 132.5$^{\circ}$. And we mixed particle sizes of 60.2nm and 200nm by 7:3 volume ratio, the contact angle of water was about 141.8$^{\circ}$. Also we mixed particle sizes of 60.2nm and 410.5nm by 7:3 volume ratio, the best super-hydrophobicity was obtained. In this paper, we fabricated various surface structures to the water-repellent surfaces by using four types of $TiO_2$ nano-particles, and we found that the nanoscale structure was very important for the super-hydrophobicity.

발수제종류별 잔골재 입도에 따른 시멘트 모르타르의 강도 및 발수특성 (Compressive Strength and Water Contact Angle Properties of Cement Mortar by Type of Water Repellent)

  • 본 논문은 발수제 첨가 모르타르의 강도 및 발수성에 미치는 다양한 요인 중에서 발수제 종류 및 잔골재 입도에 대한 영향을 검토하고자 하였다. 그 결과 발수제 첨가 시멘트 모르타르의 압축강도는 무첨가 시멘트 모르타르와 비교하여 감소하였고, 올리고머계 발수제 첨가 모르타르의 압축강도는 모노머계 발수제와 비교하여 높게 나타났다. 또한 잔골재 입도에 따른 시멘트 모르타르 압축강도 영향은 크게 나타나지 않았다. 발수제 첨가 모르타르의 접촉각은 무첨가 모르타르와 비교하여 증가하였고, 올리고머계 발수제보다는 모노머계 발수제가 상대적으로 증가하였다. 또한 연마 전후 접촉각은 잔골재 입도에 따라서 상이한 경향을 보이고 있다.

실리카 입자를 활용한 친환경 인조스웨이드의 견뢰도 향상에 관한 연구 (Study on the Improvement of the Fastness of Dyeing for Environmentally Synthetic Suede Using Silica Particles)

  • In recent years, research on the development of eco-friendly synthetic suede based on water-dispersed polyurethane resin and non-fluorine water repellent has been conducted. Synthetic suede has a problem that the fastness to dyeing is greatly lowered after the water-repellent processing at a high temperature of $160^{\circ}C$ because the polyester is dyed with a disperse dye. Therefore, in this study, silica was added to water-dispersed polyurethane resin to improve dye fastness. To distribute the $PUD-SiO_2$ mixture evenly in the water-dispersed polyurethane resin, sufficient stirring was done for a period of time. When the $PUD-SiO_2$ mixture(PUD 1-5%) is applied to the substrate, it is confirmed through SEM that the mixture is uniformly applied without particle condensation. The results showed that silica with a diameter of 4~12nm and BET of $200{\sim}380g/m^2$ had the ability to improve dispersibility and fastness.

천연유지류 처리재의 발수성능 평가 (The evaluation of water repellent effectiveness of natural oil treated wood)

  • 천연물계의 유지를 목재에 처리하여 발수성능을 평가하였다. 시험에 사용한 유지는 아마인유, 피마자유, 올리브유, 콩기름, 들기름, 해바라기 씨 기름이다. 발수성 평가는 흡습성, 흡수성 시험과 접촉각 시험으로 하였다. 발수 처리한 목재를 빛과 수분에 의해 촉진열화 시킨 후에 열화정도를 색차계로 측정하였다. 촉진열화된 처리목재의 발수성능을 흡수성시험과 접촉각 시험을 통하여 비교 측정 하였다. 흡습성 시험결과, 흡습 초기에는 무처리에비하여 흡습량이 적으나 흡습처리 시간이 증가할수록 무처리의 흡습량에 가까워져 48시간 흡습처리 후에는 흡습비의 큰 차이는 없었다. 접촉각 시험의 결과, 처리재와 무처리재간의 결과가 큰 차이를 나타내었다. 유지의 농도와 종류에 따른 접촉각 변화는 흡습성 시험과 같이 큰 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 천연유지의 발수성능으로는 기상열화에 대한 안정성이 낮았다. 천연오일 단독처리만으로는 광열화에 대한 안정성을 기대하기 어려웠다.

유성오구의 부착과 제거에 있어서 폴리에스테르 직물의 표면특성 변화 (I) -발수발유 가공포의 반복세척 효과- (Changes of Surface Characteristics of Polyester Fabrics on the Deposition and the Removal of Oily Soils (I) - The Effect of Wash Cycles on the Water- and Oil-repellent Finished Fabrics in Detergency -)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the changes of surface characteristics of polyester fabrics on the deposition and the removal of oily soils from polyester fabrics in detergency, The relations between the removal of soil and the changes of surface properties of polyester fabrics treated with water- and oil-repellent agents were discussed before and after various wash cycles. Two kinds of fluoropolymers were selected as water-and oil-repellent finishing agents. The effects of water- and oil-repellent finishes were determined by the water repellency and oil repellency. The surface properties of untreated and treated polyester fabrics were evaluated with respect to contact angle and wicking time. The treatment of polyester fabrics with fluoropolymers improved efficiently water repellency, oil repellency, contact angle and wicking time. But those properties were greatly decreased after 3 times of wash cycles in detergency The deposition of oily soils on the untreated fabrics was drastically increased with increasing of wash cycles. The deposition and the removal of oily soils from fabrics treated with fluoropolymer having hydrophobic components were very low after various wash cycles. The deposition and the removal of oily soils on the fabrics treated with fluoropolymer having hydrophilic components were high comparatively after various wash cycles. Even though the surface properties of treated fabrics were greatly decreased with the increasing of wash cycles, the remains of oily soils on the fabrics were lower than those of untreated fabrics in various wash cycles. But the remains of soils were drastically increased after 10 times of wash cycles in any cases.

Tetraethoxysilane과 Chlorotrimethylsilane으로부터 PMMA 기재 위에 발수성 코팅 도막 제조 (Preparation of Water-Repellent Coating Films from Tetraethoxysilane and Chlorotrimethylsilane on PMMA Substrates)

  • 출발물질로서 TEOS (tetraethoxysilane)와 CTMS (chlorotrimethylsilane)를 사용하여 물과의 가수분해 및 중축합 반응에 의해 발수 코팅 용액을 합성하였다. 또한 이 용액을 PMMA 시트 위에 도포하고 열처리하여 비불소계 발수 코팅 도막을 제조하였다. 코팅 도막은 수접촉각, UV-Vis 투과율 및 미세구조 관찰에 의해 분석되었다. CTMS/TEOS의 몰비를 0.6~1.0으로 변화시켜 제조 된 코팅 도막은 CTMS/TEOS의 몰 비가 0.8일 때 $107^{\circ}$의 최대 접촉각을 나타내었다. 또한 코팅 도막은 CTMS/TEOS의 몰 비가 0.6~0.8일 때 90%의 높은 가시광선 투과율을 보였다. 그러나 CTMS/TEOS의 몰 비가 0.9~1.0인 경우에는 거친 표면의 불균일한 형상으로 인해 코팅 도막은 70% 이하의 낮은 투과율을 보였다.
