This study was performed to obtain the basic data which can be applied to use of foaming mortars. The results obtained were summarized as follows ; 1. The lowest water-cement ratios were shown at the mixing ratio of 1 : 1. But, it was gradually increased in poorer mixing ratio and decreased in more addition of foaming agent. The water-cement ratios were decreased up to 1.6-53.1% by mix-foaming type and 4.4-24.1% by pre-foamed type than cement mortar. 2. The highest bulk densities were shown at the mixing ratio of 1 : 1. But, it was gradually decreased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The decreasing rates of bulk densities were increased in richer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. 3. The bulk densities were decreased up to 38.8-55.9% by mix-foaming type and 9.7-23.6% by pre-foamed type than cement mortar. 4. The lowest absorption rates were shown at the mixing ratio of 1 : 1. But, it was gradually increased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The increasing rates of absorption rates were increased in richer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. 5. Absorption rates when immersed in 72hours were shown up to 3.41-5.85 times greater by mix-foaming type and 1.05-1.55 times greater by pre-foamed type than those of cement mortar. it was significantly higher at the early stage of immersed time than cement mortar. 6. The highest strengths were shown at the mixing ratio of 1 : 1. But, it was gradually decreased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The decreasing rates of strengths were increased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. 7. The strengths were decreased up to 77.0-92.8% by mix-foaming type and 36.7-74.4% by pre-foamed type than cement mortar. 8. The lowest air contents were shown at the mixing ratio of 1 : 1. But, it was gradually increased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The increasing rates of air contents were increased in richer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. 9. Air contents were shown up to 26.0-63.8 times greater by mix-foaming type and 5.8-17.7 times greater by pre-foamed type than those of cement mortar. 10. The correlations between bulk density, absorption rate, compressive strength and air content were highly significant. The multiple regression equations of bulk density, absorption rate, compressive strength, tensile strength, bending strength and air content were computed depending on a function of mixing ratio and addition of foaming agent. They were generally highly significant.
To optimize the foam dyeing procedures for polyester and polyester/nylon blended non-woven fabrics, the effects of organic solvents and surfactants were investigated by measuring the foam heights and surface tensions of the foam dyeing solution. The results of the experiments can be summarized as follows: 1) Organic solvents and surfactants (sodium lauryl sulphate: SLS) solution lower the surface tension (ST) of the water, but ST lowering rate of SLS solution is greater than that of solvents. For a 0.25% SLS solution, the minimum surface tension was 30.3 dyne/cm, which is nearly the same value for organic solvents. 2) For 0.25% SLS solutions, additional adding of a 4.0% organic solvent makes the foam height (FH) be its maximum. 3) At 0.6 g/ι dye concentration, incorporation of 0.4% SLS makes the surface tension of the foam solution be its minimum. The foam height did not show any trend due to the dye type. 4) The effect of foam stabilizers (sodium alginate (Alg-Na) and hydroxy ethyl cellulose (HEC)) were also investigated. The foam height of the foaming solution with HEC was greater than that with Alg-Na. The foam stability of the foaming solution with Alg-Na was better than that with HEC.

Porous clay ceramics was fabricated using the surfactant as a foaming agent in the secondary-clay produced at Young-Am area in Chun-Nam province. The concentration of surfactant in ceramic slurry was the key factor controlling the pore characteristics and physical properties of the porous ceramics. The more increase of the surfactant concentration increase the more foaming ability and the stability of foamed layer were improved, but the foaming ability was limited within 6.0 wt% of surfactant because the initial viscosity of the slurry increased with increasing the amounts of surfactant. The formed specimen were sintered at both $1150^{\circ}C$ and $1200^{\circ}C$, the porous ceramics showed 0.9 of specific gravity, 50% of water absorption, 45% of apparent porosity, 14% of shrinkage and 70 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ of compressive strength.
This study is an inorganic foaming ceramic by sol-gel reaction in order to overcome weak point of insulator using in construction equipment. We shall be able to confirm as the existing product substitute is possible result of this study. The solution where the silicate, the ceramic powder and the additive are included which makes foaming ceramic slurry, then the insulator made by used $CO_2$ Sol-Gel reaction. There being will be able to manufacture the insulator where the economical efficiency is excellent confirmed at the start product which is completed. The recording gel time decreases when the silicate will increase. Uses the hydrogen peroxide and fe make foam, when additionally surface preparation the fluorine resin, the water tolerance increases and will be able to complement the weak point of the silicate which omits in the water. The case which will use the loess powder with the research method which sees specially was environment-friendly product and according to appearing, the physical properties of nonflammability.
Underground cavities could induce road subsidence, which have been frequently observed in urban areas. Therefore, adequate backfilling materials and the restoring methods of the cavities are required to prevent the road subsidence. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the suitability of backfilling methods using foaming lightweight grouting materials considering the flow values, unit weights, and air contents at slurry and expanded states, and unconfined compressive strengths. The grouting materials consist of water, cement, and foaming agent whose proportions of water, cement, and foaming agent are 25: 25: 1.0 and 25: 25: 1.2. The flow values of the two materials are greater than 200 mm, and their unconfined compressive strengths at 28 days age are smaller than 1.3 MPa. From the results, the two proportions of materials are expected to be effectively used as a backfilling material. However, the material components should be carefully mixed because poor mix of these materials could induce non-homogeneous distribution of air bubbles. The unexpectedly non-homogeneous distribution of air bubbles may induce significant cracks or additional cavities.
Solvent-free low foaming scouring agents(LFSA) were prepared by blending of polyoxyethylene(30) octadecylbenzylammonium chloride(POAC), block copolymer of propylene oxide-ethylene oxide[p(PO-b-EO) glycol], Sedlan FF-200(FF-200) and sulfonic acid-amine condensate of polyoxyethylene(10) nonylphenyl ether(PSAC). In consequence of several tests, FF-200/POAC/p(PO-b-EO) glycol/PSAC/water (20g/10g/5g/5g/60g) mixture (LFSA-5) showed good cleaning power, penetrating ability, emulsifiability and stability to alkali, and gave less problem in water pollution. Scouring effect of LFSA-5 was investigated by the change of percentage of exhaustion before and after scouring at various dyeing temperatures. The percentage of exhaustion of the unscoured PET fabric was 4.5% at $70^{\circ}C$, while that scoured with LFSA-5 was 1.3% at the same temperature, which proved LFSA-5 to be a good scouring agent. Moreover, the foaming power of LFSA-5 measured by Ross and Miles method was 6mm foam height immediately after foaming, and that measured by Ross and Clark method was less than 300mm foam height at $30^{\circ}C$, and 20mm at $80^{\circ}C$. As a result, LFSA-5 proved a good low foaming scouring agent.
Recently, inorganic-organic hybrid materials have attracted much attention not only for their excellent thermal conductivity but also for their flame retardant properties. In this study, the properties of organic-inorganic hybrid insulating materials using inorganic fillers and polyurethane foam with different foaming conditions have been investigated. The addition of 1.5 wt% water to polyurethane as foaming agent shows the best foaming properties. The pore size was decreased in the foaming body with increasing of the $CaCO_3$ addition. The apparent density and thermal conductivity were increased by increasing the $CaCO_3$ addition. With an increasing amount of $CaCO_3$ powder, the flame retardant property is improved, but the properties of thermal conductivity and apparent density tend to decrease. When the addition of fine particles of $CaCO_3$, the apparent density and thermal conductivity were increased and, also, with the addition of coarse particles over $45{\mu}m$ in size, the apparent density and thermal conductivity were increased as well. In this study, the adding of $CaCO_3$ with average particle size of $27{\mu}m$ led to the lowest thermal conductivity and apparent density. After evaluation with different inorganic fillers, $Mg(OH)_2$ showed the highest thermal conductivity; on the other hand, $CaCO_3$ showed the lowest thermal conductivity.
In this work, the properties of an organic-inorganic hybrid insulating material using an inorganic filler and polyurethane foam with different foaming conditions were investigated. At weight ratios of polyol and isocyanate of 1 to 1.2 good foaming properties were noted. In addition, an addition of 0.4 g of water, 0.1 g of surfactant, and 0.1 g of catalyst with respect to the composites of polyol at 5 g and isocyanate at 6 g showed the lowest apparent density and thermal conductivity. The pore size was smaller in the organic-inorganic hybrid foaming body with an increase in the $CaCO_3$ addition amount. Moreover, the apparent density and thermal conductivity were increased when the added amount of $CaCO_3$ increased. Increasing the amount of $CaCO_3$ powder is expected to improve the flame retardant capabilities; however, doing this tends to increase the apparent density and thermal conductivity.
In this study, we investigated for natural rubber foam to replace petrochemical-based neoprene foam. Experiments were conducted on vulcanization system and 2-step foaming process of natural rubber. The vulcanization system were EV(Efficient Vulcanization Cure), Semi-EV(Semi-Efficient Vulcanization Cure) and CV(Conventional Vulcanization Cure). In the 2-step foaming process, first molding temperature was 140℃, times were 15, 20, 25, and 30minutes, and the second molding temperature was 160℃, the times 5, 10, 15, and 20minutes. The cure and viscosity characterization were evaluated by oscillating disc rheometer (ODR) and mooney viscosmeter. Various mechanical characteristics, including hardness, tensile strength, elongation at the point of rupture, and tear strength, were quantified. Subsequently, an assessment of alterations in these mechanical attributes was conducted post-immersion in a NaCl solution. In addition degree of volume change was measured after immersing the NR foam in NaCl solution and the low-temperature permanent compression set was evaluated at 4℃. And expansion ratio and shrinkage ratio of NR foam were evaluated for 28 days. As a result the EV vulcanization system showed the least change in physical properties before and after salt water immersion, and the lowest shrinkage ratio for 28 days. In addition it was confirmed that the 2-step foaming optimum condition differed depending on the appropriate vulcanization condition.
