시설하우스 폐양액 주입방법 및 여재 특성에 따른 인공습지에서 수질오염물질의 처리효율 (Treatment Efficiency of Pollutants in Constructed Wetlands under Different Hydroponic Wastewater Injection Methods and Characteristic of Filter Media)

  • In order to improve T-N and T-P removal in HF (horizontal flow)-HF hybrid constructed wetlands by natural purification method for treating the hydroponic wastewater in greenhouses, the efficiency of water treatment as affected by the injection method of hydroponic wastewater, the addition of special filter media, the particle size of filter media, and the injection ratio of hydroponic wastewater in $1^{st}$ HF and $2^{nd}$ HF beds were investigated in small-scale HF-HF hydroponic wastewater treatment apparatus. Removal rate of T-P in the water in HF-HF hydroponic wastewater treatment apparatus with calcite as affected by addition method of special filter media was higher than that in HF-HF hydroponic wastewater treatment apparatus with other filter media. Removal rate of BOD, COD, SS, T-N and T-P in the water in mixed filter media with calcite were 86, 84, 87, 50 and 97%, respectively. Removals of pollutants except for T-P in the water were slightly different. Therefore, it should be considered that the removal rate of T-P was good for calcite in HF-HF hydroponic wastewater treatment apparatus. To improve T-N and T-P removal, the optimum particle size of filter media was 1.2 mm, and the optimum injection ratio ($1^{st}$ HF bed : $2^{nd}$ HF bed) of hydroponic wastewater was 60:40.

처리수 재이용을 위한 최종침전지 유출수의 급속여과공정 처리특성 (Treatment Characteristics of Rapid filtration Process treating Secondary Clarifier Effluent for Wastewater Reuse)

  • 하수 처리수의 재이용을 위하여 표준활성슬러지법에 의한 생물학적 처리 후 최종침전지 유출수를 급속여과공정으로 처리하기 위한 Pilot Plant 실험연구가 수행되었다. 또한, 활성슬러지와 연계된 급속여과공정과 포기조 후단에 응집제를 주입하는 활성슬러지 이후 급속여과 처리하는 공정과의 비교 실험도 행해졌다. 최종침전지 유출수를 급속여과공정으로 처리한 경우 여과속도는 100m/day, 여과지속시간은 40시간 이하로 운전하는 것이 타당한 것으로 나타났으며, 여과지의 역세척 주기는 여과속도 100m/day일 때 40시간에 1회 정도가 되었다. 여과지 역세척 시 역세척 방법은 공세 1분, 공세+수세 30초, 수세 1분, 공세·수세 2분, 수세 3분, 안정 30초, 배수 10분의 순으로 행하는 것이 효과적이었으며, 수세속도는 10LPM으로 전체 여과수량의 2%정도였다. 표준활성슬러지 시스템에 의한 2차 처리수를 잡용수로 재이용 하기 위해서는 폭기조 후단에 응집제를 첨가하여 여과 공정을 후속공정으로 하는 시스템으로 유용하게 사용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

전산유체역학을 이용한 응집지 분배수로의 흐름 해석에 관한 연구 (Examining Three-Dimensional Flow Characteristics in the Distribution Channel to the Flocculation Basin using CFD)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the equity of the flow distribution from rapid mixing basin to the flocculation basins. Also, several types of inlet structures of the open channel affecting the flow pattern and distribution trend were studied using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. For investigating the factual phenomena in distribution channel, we selected a certain domestic water treatment plant with capacity of $361,000m^3/d$. From the measurements of flow discharge, it is investigated that this existing inlet geometry resulted in significant inequitable distribution. The both largest deviations in the basins and rows were over 10%. In order to reduce the these deviation, this study suggested installing a baffle against the influent, and showed the effectiveness which the largest deviation was less than 3%. Also, it was concluded that the existing design method of open channel could be improved by three-dimensional hydrodynamic analysis for optimizing the even flow.

상수도관망에서 대수용가의 유량변화에 따른 수압 및 탁도발생 영향평가 (Impact assessment for water pressure and turbidity occurrence by changes in water flow rate of large consumer at water distribution networks)

  • Water discolouration and increased turbidity in the local water service distribution network occurred from hydraulic incidents such as drastic changes of flow and pressure at large consumer. Hydraulic incidents impose extra shear stresses on sediment layers in the network, leading to particle resuspension. Therefore, real time measuring instruments were installed for monitoring the variation of water flow, pressure, turbidity and particulates on a hydrant in front of the inlet point of large apartment complex. In this study, it is attempted to establish a more stable water supply plan and to reduce complaints from customers about water quality in a district metering area. To reduce red or black water, the water flow monitoring and control systems are desperately needed in the point of the larger consumers.

PFR 공정의 ASBF 구조에 의한 유기물제거와 질산화의 영향에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Removal Characteristics of Dissolved Organic and Ammonia Compounds in PFR of Aerated Submerged Bio-film (ASBF) Reactor)

  • Aerated submerged bio-film (ASBF) pilot plant has been developed. The presented studies optimized an inexpensive method of enhanced wastewater treatment. The objectives of this research were to describe pilot scale experiments for efficient removal of dissolved organic and nitrogen compounds by using ASBF reactor in plug-flow reactor (PFR) and improve understanding of dissolved organic matter and nitrogen compounds removal rates with dynamic relationships between heterotrophs and autotrophs in the fixed-film reactor. This research explores the possibility of enhancing the performance of shallow wastewater treatment lagoons through the addition of specially designed structures. This direct gas-phase contact should increase the oxygen transfer rate into the bio-film, as well as increase the micro-climate mixing of water, nutrients, and waste products into and out of the bio-film. This research also investigated the efficiency of dissolved organic matter and ammonia nitrogen removals in the ASBF. As it was anticipated, nitrification activity was highest during periods when the flow rate was lower, but it seemed to decline during times when the flow rate was highest. And ammonia nitrogen removal rates were more sensitive than dissolved organic matter removal rates when flow rates exceeded 2.2 L/min.

Surge Tank가 설치된 상수도관망에서 부정류를 고려한 불능확률 산정 (Calculation of Probability of System Failure for Pipe Network with Surge Tank regarding Unsteady Flow)

  • In the present study, a reliability analysis calculating the probability of system failure has been performed using cut set and results of numerical analysis for unsteady flow in pipe. Especially, the probability of system failure has been evaluated regarding the effect of valve closure which is a really important activity in operation of piping system. In spite of small amount of demand, it was found that fast valve closure can generate high probability of system failure. Furthermore, it was confirmed that surge tank can reduce the unsteady effects and probability of system failure in water distribution system. From the results, it was found that the unsteady flow has a significant effect on the probability of system failure Furthermore, it was able to find which pipe or cut set has high probability of system failure. So it could be used to determine which pipe or cut set has a priority of repair and replacement. Therefore, reliability analysis regarding unsteady flow has to be performed for the planning, designing, maintenance, and operation of piping system.

경사 구조물이 침전지내 수리거동 Index에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of the Inclined Structure on the Hydraulic Behavior Index within Sedimentation basin)

  • This research has been conducted to investigate the characteristics of hydraulic behavior within the PAC contactor, the rectangular shape sedimentation basin without inclined tube and the other one with inclined tube those are parts of demonstration plants(capacity : $2,000m^3/d$) in Korea Institute of Water and Environment. As results of tracer tests, the flow within PAC contactor was evaluated to divided into plug flow and dead space distinctly, and characteristics of dead space was close to that of CSTR(Complete/continuous Stirred Tank Reactor). Also, considering Reynolds number, Froude number, Morill, Modal, NCSTR Inex and plug flow/mixed flow fraction, in the case of the rectangular shape sedimentation basin without inclined tube, the characteristics of flow pattern was close to CSTR. On the other hand, in the case of the basin with inclined tube, the region of CSTR decreased precisely compared with the case of no-tube. Until now we have recognized that the inclined hydraulic structure just reduces the surface loading rate within a sedimentation basin. Actually besides, the inclined structure have an important effect on the hydraulic behavior within the basin.

일 유입유량 변동과 공정내 표면파 전파속도 상관성 분석 (Analysis of relationship between daily inflow rate fluctuation and surface wave transfer velocity in water treatment processes)

  • The fluctuation of inlet flow to a water treatment plant makes a serious problem that it can change the outlet flow-rate from each process abruptly, and ultimately occur the detachment of the attached particles inside each unit process. Also, since it takes very short time for the surface wave occurred from the fluctuation of inlet flow to reach the latter processes, it is impossible for operators to cope with that stably. Therefore this study was conducted to suggest the methodology for accurately predicting the travel time of surface wave occurred from the fluctuation of inlet flow to reach the latter process. Through the experiment, which was carried out for the full-scale water treatment plants(capacity : 2,000m3/d), it could be confirmed that the flow rate fluctuation from equalization tank produce the surface wave. And the wave transfer velocity is a function of the hydraulic radius and the length of each open type tanks which are comprised in the latter processes.

공업용수 정수장 설계시 첨두부하 적용방안 (Application of peak load for industrial water treatment plant design)

  • Peak load rate(i.e., maximum daily flow/average daily flow) has not been considered for industrial water demand planning in Korea to date, while area unit method based on average daily flow has been applied to decide capacity of industrial water treatment plants(WTPs). Designers of industrial WTPs has assumed that peak load would not exist if operation rate of factories in industrial sites were close to 100%. However, peak load rates were calculated as 1.10~2.53 based on daily water flow from 2009 to 2014 for 9 industrial WTPs which have been operated more than 9 years(9-38 years). Furthermore, average operation rates of 9 industrial WTPs was less than 70% which means current area unit method has tendency to overestimate water demand. Therefore, it is not reasonable to consider peak load for the calculation of water demand under current area unit method application to prevent overestimation. However, for the precise future industrial water demand calculation more precise data gathering for average daily flow and consideration of peak load rate are recommended.

  • 본 연구는 Si 미립자를 함유한 반도체 세정폐수의 평판막을 이용한 한외여과특성을 검토하였다. 평판막의 투과유속은 시간이 경과함에 따라 점차 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으며, 이현상은 막표면에 형성된 케익층의 증가 및 기공막힘에 기인한다. 흐름형태에 따른 투과유속은 cross flow가 dead-end flow의 약 1.4배 높았다. Si 미립자에 의한 막오염을 제거하는데는 역세법이 sweeping법 보다 우수하였다. 막오염으로 인한 투과유속의 감소는 질소가스로 역세척하여 초기투과유속의 약 85% 정도 회복되었다. 평판막을 이용한 cross flow 공정의 용질배제율은 약 90%였으며, 투과수증의 Si 미립자의 크기는 평균 70 nm였다.
