  • Pavements porous concrete is a noble structure design in the urban management development generally enabling water to be permeated within its structure. It has also capable in the same time to cater dynamic loading. During the technology development, the quality and quantity of waste materials have led to a waste disposal crisis. Using recycled materials (secondary) instead of virgin ones (primary) have reduced landfill pressure and extraction demanding. This study has reviewed the waste materials (Recycled crushed glass (RCG), Steel slag, Steel fiber, Tires, Plastics, Recycled asphalt) used in the pavement porous concretes and report their respective mechanical, durability and permeability functions. Waste material usage in the partial cement replacement will cause the concrete production cost to be reduced; also, the concretes' mechanical features have slightly affected to eliminate the disposal waste materials defects and to use cement in Portland cement (PC) production. While the cement has been replaced by different industrial wastes, the compressive strength, flexural strength, split tensile strength and different PC permeability mixes have depended on the waste materials' type applied in PC production.

  • In this study, various mechanical properties of concretes employing waste concrete as aggregate were examined. These concretes were obtained by mixing seven types of aggregate for different ratios. So, the experimental variables are the kinds of aggregates (some different aggregate compositions) and W/C ratio (0.40, 0.45, 0.50). From experimental results, the reliable regression analysis equations between compressive strength and various experimental data for recycled aggregate concrete are presented. Consequently, this study was accomplished to investigate basic engineering properties of recycled aggregate concrete using waste concrete.

  • Various strength characteristics of recycled concretes containing different contents of recycled aggregates from waste concretes were compared with one another. Five different contents. 0%, 50%, 60%, 70% and 80%, of recycled concrete were used for this study. Study results showed that the compressive strength, flexural strength, tensile strength, elastic modulus and fracture toughness varied with contents of recycled aggregates. Target strength of the recycled concrete could be difined by nonparametric regression model as a funcion of content of recycled aggregate in the mix.

  • Studies have proved that the mechanical properties of concrete, suddenly is dropped off with employing waste materials as replacements. The effectiveness of fibre addition on the structural stability of concrete has been indicated in recent investigations. There are different waste aggregates and fibres as plastic, rubber tire, coconut, and other natural wastes, which have been evaluated throughout the last decades. The fibres incorporation has a substantial effect on the properties of concrete mix subjected to different loading scenarios. This paper has reviewed different types of wastes and the effect of typical fibres including Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET), rubber tire, and waste glass. Furthermore, waste plastic and waste rubber has been especially studied in this review. Although concretes containing PET fibre revealed a reduction in compressive strength at low fibre fractions, using PET is resulted to micro-cracking decrement and increasing flexibility and flexural strength. Finally, according to the reviews, the conventional waste fibres are well-suited to mitigated time-induced damages of concrete and waste fibres and aggregates could be a reliable replacement for concrete.

  • The study presented herein aims to investigate the durability related properties of rubberized concrete. Two types of waste scrap tire rubber were used as fine and coarse aggregate, respectively. The rubber was replaced with aggregate by three crumb rubber and tire chips levels of 5, 15, and 25% for the rubberized concrete productions. In order to improve the transport properties and corrosion resistance of rubberized concretes, SF was replaced with cement at 10% replacement level by weight of total binder content. The transport properties of the rubberized concretes were investigated through water absorption, gas permeability, and water permeability tests. The corrosion behavior of reinforcing bars embedded in plain and silica fume based rubberized concretes was investigated by linear polarization resistance (LPR) test. The results indicated that the utilization of SF in the rubberized concrete production enhanced the corrosion behavior and decreased corrosion current density values. Moreover, the reduction in the water and gas permeability coefficients was observed by the incorporation of SF in plain and especially rubberized concretes.

  • Recently, owing to the deterioration of reconstruction and the construction, much of the construction waste is discharged in our construction field, and the amount of construction waste are rapidly increased. These waste are raised to financial and environmental problems, so the method of reusing waste concretes has been studied and carried out many direction. Especially being want of resources, if waste concrete could be recycled as aggregate for concrete, it will contribute to solve the exhaustion of natural aggregate, in terms of saving resources and protecting environment. This study is that the floating properties of concrete with recycled coarse aggregate were investigated for the substitution of recycled coarse aggregate. The result of this study, in case of water reducing, the property of harden concrete for the substitution ratio of recycled coarse aggregate was increased. The Quality of recycled coarse aggregate concrete was improved by water reducing.

The result of this study, in case of using mineral admixture, the property of fresh concrete was rised. And the property of harden concrete for the substitution ratio of recycled coarse aggregate was decreased. But the property of concrete with mineral admixture was better than that of concrete used only cement.

  • In this paper, the polymer concrete using the chemically treated waste paint and polystyrene foam was manufactured and their mechanical properties were evaluated. The compressive strength, specific gravity and water absorption with respect to the volume percents of the waste paint and resin were tested. From the tests, the specific gravities of the polymer concretes using the waste paint were lower than that of the conventional polymer concrete and it was recommended that they can be used for building exterior materials.

  • Nowadays, large amount of waste pottery and porcelain annually are produced. It is needed that they are used as recycled materials in order to prevent environmental pollution and gain economic profits. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present the method of utilizing the recycled aggregates that are obtained from waste pottery and porcelain as the concrete aggregate. The qualities of the recycled aggregate were compared with those of the crushed aggregate through measuring their physical properties. The test results showed that the replacement of crushed aggregate by recycled aggregate at the levels $10\%,\;20\%$, and $30\%$ had little effect on the compressive strength of the concretes, but higher levels of replacement reduced the compressive strength. Increment of the replacement of recycled aggregate caused increase in absorption ratio. As a conclusion, norman strength recycled aggregate concretes can be produced using less than $30\%$ of recycled aggregate.

  • This paper investigates the compressive fatigue behaviour of polypropylene fibre reinforced self compacting concrete with Granite Sawing Waste (GSW). An experimental programme was conducted to obtain the fatigue lives of fibre reinforced self compacting concrete (FRSCC) at various stress levels. The stress ratio was kept constant as 0.3. Compressive fatigue test was conducted on 60 cubic specimens with 100mm edge length and 0.1% of polypropylene fibres at a frequency of 0.05Hz. The test results indicate that the fatigue lives of concretes containing granite sawing waste follow the double-parameter Weibull distribution. The fatigue strength equations have been developed based on different probabilities of failure.
