현장규모의 유류오염토양 세척공법에 다단연속탈착 및 교반탈착기법을 이용한 세척공정 성능향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Full-scale Soil Washing Process Improved by Multi-stage Continuous Desorption and Agitational Desorption Techniques to Remediate Petroleum-contaminated Soils)

  • 최근 주한미군기지 이전에 따른 토양오염도 조사결과, 유류저장시설에서의 누출 및 사격장내 중금속에 의한 오염이 심각한 것으로 보고되었으며 오염토양 정화에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 다단연속탈착기법과 교반탈착기법을 적용한 현장규모의 유류오염토양 세척공정 성능향상에 관한 연구를 위해서 각각 다른 세지역의 정화대상부지 오염토양 중 미세토사가 29.3, 16.6, 7.8% 함유된 토양을 사용하였으며, 초기 오염농도는 각각 5,183, 2,560, 4,860 mg/kg이였다. 세척실험에 사용한 세척제로는 물을 이용하였으며 세척수를 6개월 이상 100% 재활용하여 세척공정을 운영하였다. 현장규모 세척 실험 결과 각기 다른지역의 오염토양 중 3.0 mm 이상의 오염토양은 세척수 분사압력 3.0 kg/$cm^2$의 고압분사를 통한 습식분리 후 TPH 농도는 280, 50, 356 mg/kg으로 초기농도 대비 각각 85.2, 98.2, 89.9%의 TPH 제거율을 보였다. 3.0${\sim}$0.075 mm의 모래입경에 대하여 1차 물리적 탈착 후 TPH 농도 [초기 입경별 오염부하량 대비]는 834, 1,110, 1,460 mg/kg 이었으며, 추가적인 세척공정의 2차 연속 물리적 탈착인 다단연속탈착기법을 통한 TPH 농도는 각각 330, 385, 245 mg/kg으로 초기농도 대비 각각 92.4, 90.6, 90.1%의 세척효율을 보였다. 미세모래 입경(0.075${\sim}$0.053 mm)에 대한 다단연속세척 후 TPH 농도는 791, 885, 1,560 mg/kg으로 나타났으며, 추가적인 교반 탈착 후 TPH 농도는 각각 428, 440, 358 mg/kg으로 초기농도 대비 92.0, 93.9, 92.9%의 제거율을 보였다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로, 토양세척기법은 TPH 법적기준을 맞출 수 있는 전략적 복합공정을 통해 다양한 오염토양에 폭넓게 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

絹織物 Wash and Wear 加工硏究 (Studies on Silk Textile Wash and Wear Finishing)

  • 絹織物加工을 實需要者의 利用度를 增加시키기 爲해 多年間 여러 사람에 의하여 硏究되어 왔으나 天然織維이기 때문에 加工方式으로 性質을 變化시키기는 어려워서 滿足스러운 精度로 이루어지지 못하고 있는 實情에 있다. 絹織物加工은 勿論 그 缺點을 補强하는 同時에 商品的價値도 向上시키는데 目的이 있는데 때로는 有名商標가 品質以上으로 販賣를 左右하는 例도 많다. 特히 絹制品은 歡迎을 받지 못하고 있는 實情에 있다. 이러한 問題點을 解決하기 爲해 筆者는 多年間 硏究를 持績하여 왔든바 一般絹織物의 浸潤後 乾燥時間보다 半減된 時間에 乾燥되는 所謂 Wash and Wear絹加工方法의 開發을 하기에 이르렀다. 그리고 그 加工費用이 極히 經濟性인 탓으로 아무런 부담감 없이 加工處理할 수 있는 特徵을 갖이고 있었다. 1. 繭絲는 吐絲營繭曲線이 S字型으로 되어 있어 浸潤時에는 原狀復舊의 性質이 있어 屈曲狀態를 이룩하게 되어 本加工絹織物이 Wash and Wear이기는 하나 가벼운 다림질이 必要하였다. 2. 이러한 加工은 絹絲蛋白質의 變性을 加工過程에서 1% D.I.S.溶液에 3時間 處理하여 變性誘發시킴으로서 可能하였다. 3. 加工絹의 防皺度, 剛乾度를 洗濯回數를 反復하면서 調査하여 본 結果 未處理絹보다 惡化되지 않았다. 4. 未加工絹도 水洗, 乾燥를 反復하게되면 스스로 變性되는 事實을 알았다. 5. 處理絹과 未處理絹의 强力伸度面의 差異가 없었다.

디젤유로 오염된 토양의 NaOH/H$_2$O$_2$ 분해를 이용한 토양세척에 관한 연구 (A Study on Soil Washing for Diesel-contaminated Soil by using Decomposition of NaOH/H$_2$O$_2$)

  • 토양 세척법 중에서 수산화나트륨(NaOH)과 과산화수소(H$_2$O$_2$)를 이용한 토양세척의 주된 반응은 H$_2$O$_2$ 분해시 발생되는 산소기포가 토양에 흡착되어 있는 유류오염물질을 효과적으로 탈착 부상시킨다. 이로 인한 H$_2$O$_2$의 분해속도를 온도에 따른 반응속도 상수를 통해 증명하고, 운전인자를 최적화하기 위하여 NaOH 및 H$_2$O$_2$의 농도와 세척시간, 고액비(soil-water)의 영향을 살펴보았다. 토양세척시 NaOH 수용액상에서 H$_2$O$_2$의 분해속도는 농도에 대해 1차 반응이고, NaOH 0.1 M 이하의 농도에서 반응속도상수 k$_1$은 0.9439 $\times$ exp(-1376.82/RT), 이상의 농도에서 반응속도상수 k$_2$는 17.3588 $\times$ exp(-2320.06/RT)이었다. 아울러, NaOH는 일정농도 이상에서 H$_2$O$_2$ 분해를 촉진시키며, 토양세척 시 최적 NaOH/H$_2$O$_2$ 농도를 반응속도상수를 통해 확인하였다. 또한, 토양세척 시최적조건은 세척시간 15 min, 고액비 1 : 3, NaOH 및 H$_2$O$_2$의 농도는 0.25 M과 0.1 M이 적절하였다.

과일류의 염소 소독 방법에 따른 이화학적 및 관능적 품질 특성 변화 (Changes in Physicochemical and Sensory Properties of Fruits as Affected by Chlorine Sterilization)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in physicochemical and sensory properties of raw fruits during washing and chlorine treatments. Strawberry and banana were pre-prepared at different concentration of chlorinated water(0 ppm, 50 ppm and 100 ppm), immersion time(3 min and 5 min), and number of post-rinsing(1 time, 2 times and 3 times). The physicochemical properties such as pH, sugar contents, residual chlorine contents, color values and hardness of the fruits were analyzed, and the sensory quality were evaluated throughout the sterilization treatment process. After washing strawberry with 100 ppm chlorinated water and 3 times of post-rinsing, pH and residual chlorine contents were showed a little difference, while sugar contents, hardness, and color values(L, a and b) were reduced. In case of banana, pH, sugar contents and residual chlorine contents were not affected, and hardness and L color value were reduced. However, a and b color values of banana were gradually increased as the development of brown discoloration. Sensory properties of the samples were affected by the chlorine sterilization treatment. In overall acceptance, strawberry and banana treated with 100 ppm chlorinated water showed the lowest scores among treatments. Therefore it could be suggested that the application of 50 ppm chlorinated water for $3{\sim}5$ minutes with over 3 times of post-rinsing was the effective pre-preparation method without affecting the quality of the fruits.

HACCP 적용을 위한 도계처리 공정내 미생물 오염의 분석 (Analysis of Microbial Contamination in Poultry Slaughtering Operations for the Application of HACCP)

  • The application of HACCP system, which was adopted by Codex Alimentarius Committee for the safe meat and poultry production, is one of the urgent task for competing in the world trade markets. But there have been no useful analytical studies to identify the causes of contamination in the poultry meat processing plants in Korea. This study was conducted to investigate the potential hazards during the operations by the microbiological examination for the poultry meat processing plant (20,000 birds capacity a day) located in Kangwon province. In spite of air contamination of work places, it may not directly affect the surface contamination of poultry meats. But the risk of Campylobacter jejuni/coli contamination was high. The number of total count was decreased about ten times, but remarkable changes of microbial contamination could not be recognized in each procedure during the operations. The washing water was already contaminated as much as $10^{3-6}CFU/ml$ in SPC before the operations. It means that to keep water tanks hygienic is a primary step to prevent the occurrences of microbial contamination. The overflow and recirculation of water in scalding, washing, and chilling was aslo an important factor for a hygienic control. Based on this study, the followings could be regarded as an important factors for hygenic control in the poultry slaughtering plants on a small scale. The temperature of water used for scalding should be constantly maintained on a required temperature, and the overflow rate of 1~1.5 liter per bird. The carcass surface and the body cavity should be washed thoroughly and the cross-contamination due to facilities, workers, and tools should be prevented. The chilling water sholud be maintained under 5$\circ$C of temperature with ice and overflow, and residual chlorine level of 50 ppm.

기능성 농약방제복 개발을 위한 소재 및 성능에 관한 연구 (The Textiles and the Performance Level in Developing the Pesticide Proof Clothing)

  • The precaution to spray with agricultural chemicals is very important, in particular personal protective equipment against pesticide in order to protect farmers# pesticide poisoning. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has proclaimed the announcement of pesticide proof clothing(PPC) in 1983, and revised it in 1987. The announcement had many performance items to achieve the high-quality protective clothing for pesticide including weight, density, force strength, dimensional change(in washing and drying), fastness(dyeing, washing, sweating and rubbing) and water resistance of clothes. Announcement of the PPC has better durability and penetration resistance function than former days, but the plenty of farmers didn#t wear it because of the intolerable heat. To increase wearing rates, the pesticide proof clothing must be estimated the water-vapour resistance. From the results, the developed PPC with polyester treated water-repellent showed the more excellent comfort than an existing PPC with nylon coated polyurethane. But the developed PPC appeared to have the low water-vapour resistance. Therefore, it is suggested that the property of pesticide penetration must be evaluated through the field test in the future study.

  • MF membrane element was specially designed for water purification and VSA process which can solve the fouling problem. Especially VSA process is developed for the SK Chemicals' asymmetric microfiltration hollow fiber membranes. In case of outside-to-in filtration process, MF membrane element showed the excellent flux stability caused by cleaning ability of VSA process . Simultaneous back-washing with VSA consideratbly enhances cleaning efficiency. From the result the possibility of the replacement of chemical coagulation and sand filtration process with newly developed VSA process was revealed.

  • Based on this study, the remarkable water saving washbowl system (about 90% water saving) was designed and developed by reusing the face washed water. Once the used water for washing one's face was stored into a water tank, and the dirt substances and floating matters are effectively removed by the filtrating system in order to maintain the clean water tank for a toilet stool. By using this great washbowl system, the total consumption of tap water is dramatically decreased and the total expense for sewage disposal plants is efficiently saved.

A Simple Method for Sporangial Formation of the Rice Downy Mildew Pathogen, Sclerophthora macrospora

  • A simple method for sporangial formation of the rice downy mildew pathogen, Sclerophthora macrospora, on infected leaf tissues was developed to facilitate diagnosis of the disease. Freshly infected young leaves showing whitish to yellowish small spots were selected and cut into small pieces about 2-3 cm in length. About 10-20 pieces were surface sterilized in a 100 ml Duran bottle with 40 ml of 70% ethanol by vigorous shaking for 30 seconds. After washing three times with distilled water, the leaf cuts were submerged in 10 ml of Millipore-filtered paddy water and incubated at $20^{\circ}C$ in the dark. After 8-10 h of incubation, the bottle was vigorously agitated on a vortex mixer, Aliquot amount of the suspension, 0.1-1.0 m1, was spread on a slide glass and examined under a light microscope at 50 or 100x magnification. It was found that light and 1% NaClO strongly inhibit sporangial formation of S. macrospora. Meanwhile, the use of freshly infected young loaves and washing with 70% ethanol stimulated sporangial formation of the fungus on rice leaves.
