This study was conducted to determine the effects of electrolytic water washing(EWW) and tap water washing(TWW) on proximate composition, color difference and SDS-PAGE changes of Mackerel(Scomber japonicus) muscle. Moisture contents of washed mackerel sediments EWW were much higher than TWW(p<0.05). Crude proteins of washed mackerel sediments EWW were 1% lower than TWW. Crude lipides had same results with crude proteins. Hunter value L, a, b were tested to each samples. $L^*$ values of TWW were higher than EWW. Both of $aL^*$ values were lower with washing times in order of 3rd>2nd>1st(p<0.05) but 2nd and 3rd of EWW were not significantly different(p>0.05). $b^*$ values were not different between the TWW and EWW(p<0.05). SDS-PAGE patterns of EWW muscle sediments were more darkeness 205KD band than TWW muscle sediments. In these results said that EWW is better than TWW for red meat kamaboko industry, respectively.

A small cartridge, with a nozzle system for washing off the dirt from the surfaces of sensing gates, was fabricated. The proposed nozzle structure was designed for cartridge by using the simulation tool of fluid (CFD-ACE). Whole size of the fabricated cartridge by using micromachining techniques is about $2.6\;cm{\times}1.5\;cm$, the size of the washing nozzle is $0.2\;mm{\times}0.6\;mm$ and its dead volume is only about $20\;{\mu}l$. A micro-reference electrode was achieved by employing a differential system with ISFETs/QRE (quasi-reference electrode)/REFET (reference field-effect transistor). Metal electrodes was deposited at both ends of blowing channel were used to check the presence of bubble in the microchannel. The pH-ISFET was inserted into the fabricated cartridge and the washing effect of the nozzle system in cartridge was invested.
Cold pretreatment, washing medium and composition of nutrient media may have marked effects on microspore embryogenesis. When microspores isolated from radish (Raphanus sativus L. cv. Gwanhun) flower buds were washed with Nitsch & Nitsch (NLN) medium liquid medium containing $130g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sucrose (NLN-13), yields of microspore-derived embryos were greater than when using B5 liquid medium containing $130g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sucrose. Microspore viability is known to decrease rapidly with storage; however, in this experiment, microspore viability was maintained for 24 h at $4^{\circ}C$ without media. Among the various medium concentrations used ($0.25{\times}$, $0.5{\times}$, $1.0{\times}$, $2.0{\times}$, and $4.0{\times}$ NLN liquid medium), $0.5{\times}$ NLN liquid medium induced the most efficient formation of microspore-derived embryos. In addition, microspore-derived embryos yields were greater when microspores were cultured in $0.5{\times}$ NLN liquid medium supplemented with $0.25{\times}$, $0.5{\times}$, and $1.0{\times}$ NLN microelements, compared to medium not supplemented with microelements. In this study, the highest yield of microspore-derived embryos was observed when the microspores derived from flower buds were washed using NLN-13 liquid medium and then cultured on $0.5{\times}$ NLN liquid medium supplemented with $0.25{\times}$ NLN microelements, followed by incubation at $25^{\circ}C$ for 30 days.

A non-discharged system of sequentially physico-chemical water treatment was used to treat the contaminated water produced from washing system of soils according to full-scale soil washing. After washing the TPH contaminated soils, the remaining concentrations of COD$_{Mn}$, SS, and n-hexane were analyzed for each compartment to estimate the treatment efficiencies of non-discharged system. Three times of sampling events were conducted for 4 different compartments (sediment tank, flocculation tank, oil/water separator, and process-water tank). In addition, soil washing efficiencies and concentrations of each parameter (COD$_{Mn}$, SS, and n-hexane) for process-water tank were analyzed for about 8 months. As results, the average efficiency of soil washing was high to have 95.9%, regardless of the condition of TPH contamination level for soils, as well as the concentrations of COD$_{Mn}$, SS, and n-hexane in the process-water tank were below the regulation limits of the Water Environmental Conserveation Act. Accordingly, the full-scale washing treatment system in this study could make the washing water 100% recycled which lead the system to be environmentally-friendly and economical.
Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate the filtration efficiencies and pressure drops of five commercial cloth masks (4 plate type, 1 cup type) in comparison to the performance of a class 1 disposable respirator (reference respirator). A further objective was to evaluate the effects of the number of layers and wash treatment independently on filtration efficiencies and pressure drops. Methods: Polydisperse NaCl aerosols were generated in an aerosol chamber and their concentrations were measured by an optical particle counter (OPC) in the size range of $0.3{\sim}10{\mu}m$ (five channels). Results: The filtration efficiencies of the five cloth masks and the reference respirator were D: 9.5%, C: 18.5%, E: 23.6%, A: 28.5%, B: 29.7% and R: 91.1%, respectively, and the pressure drops through them were C, D: 0.8 Pa, E: 1.7 Pa, B: 6.4 Pa, A: 42.7 Pa and R: 19.3 Pa, respectively. The filtration efficiencies of the cloth masks and reference respirator were below the class 1 respirator criterion (${\geq}94.0%$) of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) and Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). The pressure drops satisfied the class 1 respirator criterion (${\leq}70Pa$) of MOEL and MFDS. When the cloth masks were folded into two and four layers, the filtration efficiencies of cloth masks A, B, C, D (plate type) increased 1.7-4.6 times, and 2.3-6.8 times, respectively, compared to the efficiencies of the same products in a single layer. Pressure drops increased as the number of layers was increased. The filtration efficiency of cloth mask E with a liner was 1.3 times higher than that of the same mask without a liner, and the pressure drop was lower in the no-liner configuration. After a single washing, the filtration efficiencies of all the cloth mask products decreased 1.04-4.0 times compared to those of the same products intact. For the cloth masks C and E, their filtration efficiencies were significantly decreased after washing (p<0.05). The pressure drops of all cloth masks were 1.2-2.0 times lower after washing. Conclusions: The filtration efficiencies of the five cloth masks were below 30% and did not improve greatly by increasing the number of layers. After a single washing, their performances decreased. Considering the above and other issues identified with cloth masks, such as poor fit and stretched fibers through use, people should not expect protection against particulate matters from the cloth masks on the market.
Effects of washing methods using electrolyzed acid water on lettuce(Lactuca sativa) and quality changes during storage were investigated. The multi-stage immersion treated 3 times in 2 min showed more effective than others to remove microorganisms. Total count of lettuce after immersion in electrolyzed acid water was decreased to 1/100-1/300 of $5.8\;{\times}\;l0^5CFU/g$ of non-immersed lettuce and $2.3\;{\times}\;l0^5CFU/g$ of tap water immersed lettuce. Also coliforms was significantly decreased to 1/3,000 of $3.1\;{\times}\;10^3CFU/g$ after electrolyzed acid water washing. However, microbial levels of electrolyzed acid water treated one became to be similar to those of non-treated lettuce after 3 days of storage at $10^{\circ}C$. The color values of L and b of lettuce treated with electrolyzed acid water were somewhat higher than those of others. Though chlorophyll content of lettuce just after immersion in electrolyzed acid water was 9% lower than those of non-treated one, the content was decreased to the same level of other treatments during storage. Decaying ratio showed the lowest value in lettuce immersed in electrolyzed acid water until 6 days of storage. The sensory tests for overall acceptability and appearance of lettuce immersed in electrolyzed acid water showed higher than those of others until $3{\sim}6$ days of storage.

Because few signals are generated using low resolution position sensor at low speed, rotor position estimation is difficult in drum washing machine application. Besides, inertia of water and drum affect the initial operation load up to two times of rated load. Therefore overcurrent can be occurred at initial operation. In this paper, IPMSM vector control for drum washing machine is proposed by applying I/F initial operating method and sensorless control. And we verify the performance through experiment.
Six heavy metals (lead, copper, cadmium, chromium, mercury and arsenic) were analyzed in 9 oriental medical materials(Paeoniae Radix Alba, Zizyphi Fructus, Cnidii Rhizoma, Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Astragali Radix, Glycyrrhizae Radix, Cinnamomi Cortex Spissus, and Zingiberis Rhizoma Crudus) by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The heavy metal contents of Zingberis Rhizoma Crudus and Angelicae Gigantis Radix were 44.0 and 37.3 mg/kg, respectively, which were 1.47 and 1.24 times higher than the guideline set by the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Washing with deionized water lowered the heavy metal contents by 20-38%, and reduced levels to below the guidelines set by KFDA.
Pesticides were sprayed on perilla leaf and leafy lettuce in a greenhouse and the reduction rate of pesticide residues on each vegetable by washing were tested. The reduction rate of pesticide residues by washing for 30 sec~3 min on perilla leaf were 3~63% in tap water, 2~58% in salt water, 6~74% in green tea water, and 8~86% in detergent solution. The detergent solution only showed significant difference in reduction rates compared to the tab water washing. Considering reduction effects of the washing duration, it was showed that the reduction rates were a pattern of inclining as the duration of washing process increased, but there was no significant difference in the reduction rates except the reduction rates between washing in the detergent solution for 1 min and 3 min. Comparing washing in flowing tab water and in stagnant tab water with leafy lettuce, the reduction rate by one time washing were 8~68% in flowing tab water and 7~64% in stagnant tab water. The water and the time used in this experiment were 17.5 L, 2.9 min with flowing tab water and 4 L, 1 min with stagnant tab water. The reduction rate by 3 times washing in stagnant tab water were 16.5~76.6%, and the water and the time used were 12 L, 3 min. Therefore, when the water and the time used to wash vegetables were considered, washing two or three times in stagnant tab water could be more effective than washing one time in flowing tab water.
