In this study, we developed the PATROL teaching and learning model by using digital textbooks in Smart Classrooms to correct the disadvantages of Flipped Classrooms. PATROL is an acronym for Planning, Action, Tracking, Recommending, Ordering, and Leading. In the Planning phase, teachers should make a lesson plan. Next, students take Action by watching online contents and completing assignments in their digital textbook. After that, Tracking is needed to analyze the students' activities and the results. Then, Recommending is used to provide suggested instructional activities to teachers based on that analysis. Next, Ordering requires that students request new materials for class activities. Finally, Leading allows teachers to provide materials at the appropriate level to their students based on the students' learning activities. Applying the PATROL model at two elementary schools resulted in an increase in student-directed speech as well as an increase in the number of group and individual activities. Teachers also had more time to walk around the classroom.
In recent years, as selling books on the internet becomes popular, the number of off-line bookstores are rapidly dwindling away. This change on the book market requires, the function and space of the bookstores should be defined again. Now bookstores are the places of experiences on cultures, world-views, and lifestyles around books. The study examines six large bookstores and finds three strategies of space expression as follow. First, Dominicanen bookstore in Maastricht which was built as a church has an expression which contrasts the old and the new as well as the sacred and the profane. Fangsuo bookstore in Chengdu creates a modern underground Sutra Depository. Here, people experience history and religion. Second, Cook & Book in Brussels has nine theme areas, each with a different selection of books, different interior decoration and special food and beverage like a theme park. Zhongshu bookshop in Shanghai has a lattice of nine reading rooms in which each unique design theme is characterized based on each book subject. Third, Cultura Bookstore in Sao Paulo is created to support social interchange. It leads people to the enormous plaza of books where people read books freely and participate in workshops, movies and all kinds of events. Daikanyama Tsutaya Books in Tokyo is composed of three white box-form pavilions which are connected by a 55-meter long aisle, called a magazine street. People walk along the street and choose concierge services as they browse magazines and books. The study finds out three strategies of design in current large bookstores to promote place-experience, which are the story-telling of history and culture, the design of theme parks, and openness for public mingling like plazas and streets. Thus, the study suggests a new paradigm in the design of bookstores in this internet age.
Since 1997, Dr. Shin-ya Nishimura has been developing an actual town planning project named the "Gangi Project". Students, inhabitants and local professionals walk around Omotemachi, examine the characteristics of the environment and the inhabitants' way of life, discuss plans and designs for traditional wooden arcades called locally "gangi". Students and inhabitants build the gangi together every year. The purpose of this study is to clarify how an experimental project aiming to preserve a living environment obtains sustainability as an actual town planning exercise. The research hypothesizes that sustainable town planning should include strategies for financial autonomy, active participation of inhabitants, supports from local professionals, an acceptance of changing environments, and responsible construction. The project has been carried out as a part of actual town planning, and continues to create a daily living environment based on the recent economical and industrial situation of the town. By focusing on the influences of the project on the town and inhabitants, the study has revealed the possibility of an actual town planning with small budget, and importance of a collaborative relationship with various participants in order to foster a sense of responsibility regarding the construction. The project also highlights the implication that sustainable town planning creates not only a participatory system but also a collaborative one in which participants take responsibility for the issues involved in the construction process.
This study was conducted to investigate the dietary behaviors and health-related lifestyles, according to exercise habits, of female university students in the Jeonju area. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from 285 students, and the statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS v. 10.0 program. The results are summarized as follows. The weight, height, and BMI averages of the regular exercise and non-exercise groups were 53.05 kg, 162.46 cm, and 20.23, and 50.81 kg, 161.46 cm, and 19.48, respectively. The breakfast skipping ratio was higher in the non-exercise group than the exercise group. More than 72% of the exercise and 71% of the non-exercise group responded to regularly having lunch at the university canteens or restaurants around campus. Approximately 70% of the exercise and 71% of the non-exercise group responded to having dinner irregularly, which was mainly caused by reasons such as 'irregularity of life style' and 'appointments with friends'. The snack intake ratios of the exercise and non-exercise groups were high, but the exercise group ate more fruit, yogurt, and milk than the non-exercise group. The favorite sports of the exercise group were 'walk(jogging)', 'yoga', 'bicycle,' 'swim,' etc. In particular, 5.3% of the exercise group had ridden a bicycle to the university. More than 97% of the students were non-smokers. About 14% of the exercise and 15% of the non-exercise group rank alcohol once or twice a week. The exercise group did not show exceptional health-oriented dietary behaviors in comparison to the non-exorcise group. Therefore, an exercise-oriented nutrition education program would be beneficial to the students, in order to improve their dietary behaviors and health-related lifestyles.
In case of Senior Hospitals, meticulous care is required in both amount and quality of natural lighting because of the semi-long term residence of patients. Natural lighting has a huge impact on the physical and psychological part for the seniors. Likewise, natural lighting is an important factor considered for hospital design because it can also effect hospitalization period of patients. Research subject was K Senior Hospital which was determined as the courtyard-type building made to provide healing environment through natural lighting. Analysis was performed by dividing the space of K Senior Hospital into Central Treatment Department directly used by patients, Outpatient Department(OPD), Ward Department, Common Use Department. Research was carried out in two ways of integration value analysis using SPACE SYNTAX and illumination intensity analysis using ECOTECT. K Senior Hospital intended to actively let in natural light through courtyard and to make patients exposed to natural light when they walk along the circuit corridor built around the courtyard. This environmental consideration affected the utilization rate of Common Use Department and residence time of patients raising the average of Common Use Department on every floor. As a resuit of this study presenting type C and type D, part of four types of illumination intensity, takes higher percentage of almost every spaces compare to the others therefore K Senior Hospital was designed on the assumption of healing environment composition through natural light. The result of this research would be used meaningfully in the space programming phase of Senior Hospitals in the future. Utilization rate can be adjusted using illumination intensity value in the space that integration rate should be planed to be high. The use(purpose) of space and integration rate can be used as a guideline to set illumination intensity of natural.
Impulse of ki refers to palpitation around the navel, it is mostly caused by impairment of yang due to erroneous sweating, deficiency of the spleen yang. Behcet's syndrome caused by prolonged damp-heat and pathogenic germs. Its symptoms are characterized by conjunctival congestion, blue canthus and ulceration of the oral cavity, restlessness all the time, etc. It is advisable to follow the therapeutic principles of clearing away heat and drying damp, detoxicating and sterilizing. This paper presents the development process of roof carrier assembly using a one side release system for a vehicle. An RV(Recreational Vehicle) or SUV(Sports Utility Vehicle) has a roof carrier system on an upper surface of a roof panel for loading large or long size baggage. Such a roof carrier system is comprised of a roof rack longitudinally mounted on a roof panel and cross bar perpendicularly installed in the horizontal direction. Several locking mechanisms used in most vehicle roof carrier systems are composed with both side releasable locking ones. The obvious drawback to this arrangement is that when the user desires to reposition the cross bar, first one of the locking members must be unlocked and then the user must walk around to the opposite side of the vehicle to unlock the other member. In this paper, we proposed a newly locking mechanism, which allows a user simultaneously place both locking members of the roof carrier in locked and unlocked positions. In order to estimate design compatibility, structural and modal analysis is performed. Furthermore, a prototype based on the proposed design has been made, and then durability test carried out. From the simulation and experimental results, the proposed roof carrier system is proved effective and safe.

PURPOSE: Stroke patients may develop an over-pronated foot, resulting in a lower medial longitudinal arch. This can lead to a structural change of the foot due to deformation of the musculoskeletal system. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of modified low-dye taping on stroke patients with an excessively pronated foot. The effect of the taping on the foot after light daily activity was also examined. METHODS: The subjects consisted of 21 stroke patients with an excessively pronated foot, as measured by the navicular drop test. First, their navicular heights were measured at a relaxed standing position (measure 1) and while standing in the subtalar neutral position (measure 2). Modified low-dye taping was applied to each subject's affected foot and the navicular height was then measured for the standing posture (measure 3). Finally, each subject walked around for 10 minutes and the navicular height was measured again (measure 4). RESULTS: Statistical analyses showed that the navicular height value at the relaxed standing position (measure 1) was significantly lower than for the other 3 measurements. That is, the modified low-dye taping was effective in maintaining a subtalar neutral position, even after a 10-minute walk, for stroke patients with an excessively pronated foot. CONCLUSION: The results suggest that modified low-dye taping applied to stroke patients with an excessively pronated foot could be an effective way to place the subtalar joint in a neutral position, and that its effect can be sustained for light daily activities.

If leakage current is neglected, it can become a cause for disasters such as electric shock and fire, therefore a continuous monitoring is necessary. However in most cases, because management of substations is performed by unmanned systems, or walk-around inspections, continuous monitor is difficult. So when an accident occurs and the cause is not immediately resolved causing the emergency generator's OCGR getting activated by the leakage current that in turn cut off the ACB, the emergency generator may stop working. To prevent such a problem, a real-time integrated monitoring system for monitoring the leakage current returning to the grounding wire of neutral point of the low voltage side of transformer is proposed. Therefore in this paper, the effects of flow of leakage current, which is caused by insulation degradation phenomena or insulation destroy phenomena, were identified by simulation. And through cases studies; the excellence of integrated monitoring system was verified.

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of distraction arthroplasty as treatment for moderate or severe ankle osteoarthritis Materials and Methods: Thirteen patients who underwent distraction arthroplasty using the Ilizarov external fixator were available. We removed osteophytes around the ankle before applying the external fixator. We encourage the patients to do active range of motion exercise and to walk with cruch. Follow-up averaged 15 months (range, 10-31 months). Both the patients' postoperative satisfaction and the radiographic joint space were retrospectively evaluated. Results: The duration from applying the external fixator to remove was 12 weeks. Breakage of the wire applied to the forefoot occurred in 2 cases. All patients satisfied with the postoperative clinical results. The ankle joint space averaged $1.6{\pm}0.2mm$ in pre-operative, $4.2{\pm}0.9mm$ in post-Ilizarov external fixator's removal, and $2.3{\pm}0.3mm$ in last follow-up ankle lateral view. Conclusion: We think that distraction arthroplasty with external fixator is useful operative method for the moderate or severe ankle osteoarthritis.
