A Study on Making a Historic Cultural Walk of Old West Village, Seoul with the Case Study Area around Mt. Inwang and Baegundong Stream (서울 서촌(西村) 역사문화탐방로 조성방안 연구 - 인왕산록과 배운동천 수계(白雲洞川 水系) 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • The direction of this study lies in exploring a schematic proposal for a historical walk over an area called 'West Village' located inside the old city wall of Seoul. The case study area is comparable to the historic 'North Village,' including historical assets such as the Kyunghi Royal Palace and Sajik-dan. Moreover, it has spectacular scenic spots surrounding Mt. Inwang and Baegundong Stream, although this has now been paved over for use as a road. This village maintained its fame as a hub of art through the early 20th century. The comprehensive approach of this study ranges from the historical and cultural to the ecological and visual. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. A themed walk would commemorate the great leader of national independence, Baegbeom Kim Ku, as well as the famous Korean style realistic landscape painting school under the leadership of Kyumjae Jeong Seon, a great artist of the Josun Dynasty. In addition, a scenic streamside walk would accentuate the surrounding panoramic vistas which were drawn by Kyumjae, while at the same time allowing the ecological system of Baegundong Stream to be uncovered and restored.

  • If virtual reality is well known through the medias, it seems that a few visual concepts are clearly related to VR. We try to think about it and introduce to a philosophy of VR techniques. So, from techniques and media techno-powers promotional campaigns, we aim to areal technology, it means an objective reflection on the VR techniques. To do so, we study the representations of VR in films. And we conclude that a negative image is the most common representation, related, often, to an Orwellian vision of the future world. In the second part, we study some VR films, and especially some made by famous film directors (Iñárritu, Bigelow). 'Head-turn' and 'Walk-around' films are commented to check their limits. Finally, we consider that for the moment, VR remains only a new space to screen films (into VR platforms connected to the Internet).

  • In order to simulate the coastal dispersion effectively, hybrid concept of operator split Eulerian-lagrangian concentration model and random-walk particle tracking model are developed. Especially the random-walk model is adequate for region with steep slope of concentration. According to model tests, it agrees perfectly with analytical solution on around the source point for therefore. ▽C $\geq$ 0.005, meanwhile it shows poor results for ▽C$\leq$0.002. trial modeling for real situation therefore, random-walk model is applied for near field henceforth Eulerian-Lagrangian concentration model is adoped for whole domain so that overall performance and accuracy can be achieved by using developed hybrid model.

  • To evaluate the tidal flow around the transmission type harbour structures, the numerical models considering hydraulic resistance are used. The traditional governing equations of depth-integratef hydrodynamics are modified by using of the drag force term. As a numerical model to evaluate the rate of tidal exchange, the Random-walk method is used. The models are applied in a design of the pile-supported pier structures in Busan harbour site, Korea, where the flow speed and the tidal exchange are more promotive than the case of non-transmission structure. The developed model will be applied usefully to design the transmission type structure in the ocean space.

  • In order to simulate surface discharged heat dispersion in costal area, a 2-dimensional Eulerian-Lagrangian model for far field and semi-active particle tracking random walk model in near field has been combined. The mass of discharged heat water in near field has treated as particles with buoyancy and this is eventually converted to horizontal additive dispersion in random walk equations. This model is applied to both a simplified coastal geometry and a real site. In simple application it can simulate plume-like characteristics around discharging point than a near field-model, CORMIX/3. Actual application in the Chonsu Bay shows farther spreading of heat water in near field comparing the observed data, and this shows that the developed model might be applied with satisfaction.

  • In this study, motion simulation of Walk-through was evaluated with HMD(Head Mounted Display). More Specifically, we examined the changes of the degree of object density placed around virtual space on psychological moving distance, moving speed, and moving time. The results were as follows. First, the difference between the experimental conditions(low density, Medium density, High density) was significant. Second, as the density of the surrounding objects increased, the average point of moving time, moving speed, and moving distance rose compared to the basic conditions. Third, it was found that the surrounding objects improved the sense of time, speed and distance in motion simulation in virtual space.

  • It is usually that some people who did not plan to buy anything walk into e-mart, but walk out with something in hands. Obviously, these people were stimulated and the result is purchasing something maybe are not really needed. As a consumer, sometimes we are interested in what somebody else is using, and sometimes we cannot help trying a kind of new drink when we found many of people around are drinking it. In this paper, conformity psychology's effect in the advertisement will be checked in the hope of helping improve the advertisement effectiveness.

  • In the case of a scanning type multi-channel LiDAR sensor, the distance error called a walk error may occur due to a difference in received signal power. This work error causes different distance values to be output for the same object when scanning the surrounding environment based on multiple LiDAR sensors. For minimizing walk error in overlapping regions when scanning all directions using multiple sensors, to calibrate distance for each channels using convolution on external system. Four sensors were placed in the center of 6×6 m environment and scanned around. As a result of applying the proposed filtering method, the distance error could be improved by about 68% from average of 0.5125 m to 0.16 m, and the standard deviation could be improved by about 48% from average of 0.0591 to 0.030675.

  • The Flow patterns around two cylinders in various arrangements were studied by a discrete vortex method. The flow for the surface of each cylinder was represented by arranging bound vortices at adequate intervals. The viscous diffusion of fluid was represented by the random walk method. The vortex distributions, streaklines, timelines and velocity vectors around two cylinders were calculated for centre-to-centre pitch ratios of $P/D=1.5 and 2.5$, attack angles of ${\alpha}=0^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}\;and\;90^{\circ}$, and Reynolds number of Re=1200. The results of simulation correspond to the photographs by flow visualization and the flow intereference between two cylinders in various arrangements was clearly visualized by a numerical simulation.
