Fruit wine from Acanthopanax sessiliflorus(A. sessiliflorus) including many pharmacological components was manufactured and its functional properties were investigated. The fruit part of A. sessiliflorus contained 75.74${\pm}$0.49%(w/w) moisture, 12.51${\pm}$1.23%(w/w) crude protein, 4.20${\pm}$0.51.%(w/w) crude fat and 5.21${\pm}$1.64%(w/w) crude ash. Minerals of fruit were potassium(12.94${\pm}$0.08 mg/g), calcium(1.53${\pm}$0.06 mg/g) and magnesium(1.12${\pm}$0.05 mg/g). Initial soluble solid and fermentation temperature were 24-30$^{\circ}$Brix and 20${^{\circ}C}$ for manufacturing fruit wine from A. sessiliflorus. When initial soluble solid of a must was adjusted to more than 30$^{\circ}$Brix, ethanol production was suppressed slightly. The polyphenol content of the fruit wine fermented at 20${^{\circ}C}$(125.24${\pm}$1.86 mg/mL) was higher than those at 25${^{\circ}C}$(99.69${\pm}$2.11 mg/mL) and 30${^{\circ}C}$(95.55${\pm}$1.54 mg/mL). Electron donating activities of wines fermented at 20, 25 and 30${^{\circ}C}$ were 85.9${\pm}$2.3, 55.7${\pm}$2.5 and 55.2${\pm}$3.4%, respectively. The content of eleutheroside B increased up to 146.58${\pm}$4.10 $\mu$g/mL during fermentation. There was no significant effect of fermentation temperature on eleutheroside B content. The fruit part of A. sessiliflorus can be used as a valuable resource for development of nutraceutical foods.
A hard X-ray microscope system for obtaining images of nano-spatial resolution has been widely studied and requires monochromatic X-ray. A multilayer mirror of 84% reflectivity was designed to acquire tungsten characteristic X-ray of 8.4 keV from the white beam generated from an X-ray tube, and the C/W multilayer mirror of $50{\times}50\;mm$ size and 5.65 nm d-spacing was fabricated by the ion-beam sputtering system. The C/W multilayer had a uniformity of 99.5%, and the structure of the multilayer mirror was verified by a TEM image. The obtainable x-ray reflectivity for the C/W multilayer mirror at 8.4 keV was estimated from measuring the X-ray reflectivity using the copper characteristic X-ray of 8.05 keV. Monochromatic X-ray of 8.4 keV was generated by combining a X-ray tube, and the reflectivity and monochromaticity were 77.1% and 0.21 keV, respectively. Monochromatic X-ray generated from the combination of an X-ray tube and an C/W multilayer mirror has enough potential to use X-ray source for hard X-ray microscope system of laboratory size. If the C/W multilayer mirror of d-spacing of a few nanometers can be fabricated, monochromatic X-ray corresponded to 17.5 keV, molybdenum characteristic X-ray, can be obtained and applied to mammography in the medical application.
The unconfined compressive strength (UCS) test through coring is widely used to determine the reinforcement effect of the ground with grouting. However, the UCS test through coring can disturb the ground, is expensive and takes a lot of time to prepare the specimen. In this study, the factors affecting UCS of microfine cement grouted sand are evaluated and an empirical equation of UCS of microfine grouted sand is suggested. It is observed that UCS increases linearly until 28 days, however, the increasing rate of strength decreases sharply after that 28 days. The W/C ratio is dominant factor influencing UCS and UCS increases exponentially with the decrease of water/cement (W/C) ratio. Also, UCS increases linearly with increasing the relative density ranging from 30% to 70% and with decreasing median particle size. However, in case of W/C ratio=1 and K6 ($D_{50}=0.47mm$), UCS is lower than that of K4 ($D_{50}=1.08mm$) and K5 ($D_{50}=0.80mm$) due to filtration effect. Based on the experimental results, the empirical equation of UCS of microfine cement grouted sand can be expressed as the function of median particle size ($D_{50}$), porosity (n) and W/C ratio.
Reinforced concrete structures have found wide usage in land and maritime applications. However, the corrosion of reinforced concrete has been recognized as a serious problem from economic and safety standpoints. In previous studies, the corrosion behavior of the inner steel bar embedded in mortar (W/C: 0.4, 0.5) was investigated using electrochemical methods. In this study, multiple mortar test specimens (W/C: 0.6) with six different cover thicknesses were prepared and immersed in flowing seawater for five years. Subsequently, equations related to the cover thickness, period of immersion, and corrosion characteristics of the embedded steel bar were evaluated using electrochemical methods. Prior to immersion, the corrosion potentials indicated an increase with increasing cover thickness, and after five years, all corrosion potentials demonstrated a trend in the positive direction irrespective of the cover thickness. However, the relationships between the corrosion potential and cover thickness were not in complete agreement. Furthermore, after five years, all of the corrosion potentials indicated values that were nobler compared to those obtained prior to immersion, and their corrosion current densities also decreased compared to their values obtained prior to immersion. It was considered that the embedded steel bar was easily corroded because of the aggression of water, dissolved oxygen, and chloride ions; a higher W/C ratio also assisted the corrosion process. The corrosive products deposited on the surface of the steel bar for five years cast a resistance polarizing effect shifting the corrosion potential in the nobler direction. Consequently, it was considered that the W/C ratio of 0.6 showed nearly same results as those of W/C of 0.4 and 0.5. Therefore, the corrosion potential as well as various parameters such as the cover thickness, period of immersion, and W/C ratio must be considered at once for a more accurate evaluation of the corrosion property of reinforced steel exposed to marine environment for a long period.

In this study, the cooling experiment was carried out in $1,650m^2$ area of the seedling greenhouse from June 6, 2011 to september 18, 2011 with the vertical type geothermal heat pump system of 350 kW scale (175 kW ${\times}$ 2 units) installed in the greenhouse, cooling effects were analyzed and we tried to find more effective operation methods of the geothermal heat pump system. In case of one unit heat pump (175 kW) operation, when evaporator inlet water temperature changed from $13.0^{\circ}C$ to $15.5^{\circ}C$, cooling COP of the system was in 1.1~1.8 range and in case of two unit heat pump (350 kW) operation, when evaporator inlet water temperature changed from 13.0 to 15.5, cooling COP of the system was in 2.0~2.7 range. The accumulated cooling heat quantity of June, July, August and September was 14,718.6, 26,765.1, 28,437.2 and 10,065.0 kWh, respectively.
Refractory metals, W and Ti, and their nitrides, $W_2N$ and TiN, were investigated for using as an ohmic contact material with SiC single crystalline thin films. The possibility of nitride materials for using as a stable ohmic contact material of SiC at high temperatures was examined by considering the thermal stability depending on the heat treatment temperature, their electrical properties and protective behavior from the interdiffusion. W contact with SiC thin films, deposited by using new organosilicon precursor, bis-trimethylsilylmethane, showed the lowest resistivity, $2.17{\times}10^{-5}$Ω$\textrm{cm}^2$. On the other hand, Ti-based contact materials showed higher contact resistivity than W-based ones. The oxidation of contact materials was restricted by applying Pt thin films on those electrodes. Nitride electrodes had rather stable electrical properties and better protective behavior from interdiffusion than metal electrodes.
A gas sensor which has been made by wet process had fabricated by coating each of the mixture on alumina tube and firing at 85$0^{\circ}C$ for 3hrs. A gas concentration such $H_2$, CO, $C_3H_8$, $C_2H_2$ and $CH_4$ vs its detection voltage characteristics has been in-vestigated on $SnO_2-In_2O_3-MgO$ system doped with PdO, $La_2O_3$, $ThO_2$, NiO and $Nb_2O_5$ The optimum sensitivity composition for various gases were 90w/o $SnO_2$-9w/o $In_2O_3$-1w/o MgO for $H_2$, $C_2H_2$ CO and $C_3H_8$ and 95w/o $SnO_2$-4w/o $In_2O_3$-1w/o MgO for $CH_4$. The sample which has been made by wet process than dry process had predominated sensitivity for each gases and particle size of the sample coprecipitated with PH=9 was 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ The $SnO_2$-In2_O_3-MgO$ system doped with 2w/o $Nb_2O_5$ and NiO was the most sensitive for $H_2$ and $C_2H_2$ gas. In $SnO_2$-In2_O_3-MgO$ system doped with $ThO_2$ the sensitivity of $H_2$ gas was decreased but CO gas was in-creased when dopant con was increased.

This paper has presented the parameters for the coexistence between two systems in macro/microcell ovelaid W-CDMA WLL (wideband CDMA wireless local loop) and has calculated the capacity of forward/reverse link in microcell. To produce the capacity for analyzing system interference effects, we have shown tables and graphs with the parameters sucyh as RF channel bandwidth of WLL(W), the transmission rate of service message(R), the required signal power to noise power ratio( $E_{b/}$$N_{0}$) for achieving accepatable error rate, te user number ( $N_{W1}$, $N_{W2}$) of the neighboring system, the signal power to interference power ratio(.GAMMA.$_{C1B}$, .GAMMA.$_{C2B}$) of the neighboring system, the normalized distance(d) between microcell and macrocell base-station, and microcell to macrocell radius ratio ( $R_{d}$). From the results, we have convinced that the capacity of microcell diminishes as increasing the user number ( $N_{W2}$) in macrocell, increasing the microcell radius, and decreasing the normalized distance(d) between microcell and macrocell base-station. Especially, we have known that when $R_{d}$=0.1, $N_{W2}$ must be below 24 at .GAMMA.$_{C2B}$ = 0 dB and below 8 at .GAMMA.$_{C2B}$ = 4 dB for the acceptable capacity raito to be over 80%. Therfore, this paper is usefult to design microcell W-CDMA WLL for accommodating more user number under the interference effects of macrocell W-CDMA WLL and is expected to be reference in power control if base-station.ation.ion.ation.ation.

The effect of a novel delivery system, water in oil emulsion containing chitosan hydrogel as a inner phase (W/O-C) was evaluated, and the relationships between the skin permeation, the skin primary irritation and the skin turnover rate of AHAs were discussed. We selected glycolic acid (GA), lactic acid (LA), malic acid (MA), and tartaric acid (TA) as model AHAs. The steady state fluxes of 4 AHAs across the excised hairless mouse skin increased as the molecular weights of the AHAs decreased. (GA>LA>MA>TA). The skin turnover times were shortened in all AHAs, compared with control. The skin permeation and the skin primary irritation of the LA decreased and the skin turnover time increased, as the pH increased. The maximum therapeutic index was obtained with pH 3.8, 0.5 M LA. It was suggested that the skin permeability of LA might be a main factor for prediction of the skin irritation and the skin turnover time. On the other hand, the W/O-C containing pH 3.8, 0.5 M LA indicated a good sustained release property of LA, compared with water in oil emulsion without chitosan hydrogel (W/O) or oil in water emulsion (O/W). The skin permeability and the skin irritation of AHAs from the W/O-C edcreased, compared with W/O or O/W, however the skin turnover time showed almost the same value as W/O or O/W. In conclusion, we suggest that the control of the skin permeation of AHAs would be an important tool for reducing the skin irritation and for maintaining the positive effect of AHAs, and the W/O-C system could be a potential candidate for future cosmetological application of AHAs.
