  • This paper describes a current-shaping method for the production of constant torque of SRM under the nonlinear magnetic saturation condition. A current detection technique in the inductance increasing region and an approximation technique for modeling of nonlinear inductance profile are adopted. In the proposed system, a single switching angle control and voltage control is used to shape the current waveform for the generation of flat torque at any given load condition. Finally the validity of the proposed method was verified using a constructed 3HP 6/4 SRM.

  • Distributed generations (DGs) using renewable energy resources in power systems have been widely integrated, and many of these DGs have intermittency. DGs can significantly affect the overall voltage profile of the system through the reactive power control for a voltage support. Therefore, in the planning stage of the optimal operation and dispatch of voltage regulation devices, DGs' hosting capacity with the reactive power control scheme should be considered. In this paper, we model the IEEE 34-bus test feeder, including all essential equipment. An optimization method is utilized to determine the optimal siting and operation of the voltage regulation devices in the presence of DGs with reactive power control scheme. Finally, we compare the optimal results of the each case to analyze the relationship among the hosting capacity of the DGs and voltage regulation devices operation.

  • PET-CT improves performance and reduces the time by combining PET and CT of spatial resolution, and uses CT scan for attenuation correction. This study analyzed PET image evaluation. The condition of the tube voltage and current of CT will be changed using. Uniformity phantom and resolution phantom were injected with 37 MBq $^{18}F$ (fluorine ; 511 keV, half life - 109.7 min), respectively. PET-CT (Biograph, siemens, US) was used to perform emission scan (30 min) and penetration scan. And then the collected image data were reconstructed in OSEM-3D. The same ROI was set on the image data with a analyzer (Vinci 2.54, Germany) and profile was used to analyze and compare spatial resolution and image quality through FWHM and SI. Analyzing profile with pre-defined ROI in each phantom, PET image was not influenced by the change of tube voltage or exposure dose. However, CT image was influenced by tube voltage, but not by exposure dose. When tube voltage was fixed and exposure dose changed, exposure dose changed too, increasing dose value. When exposure dose was fixed at 150 mA and tube voltage was varied, the result was 10.56, 24.6 and 35.61 mGy in each variables (in resolution phantom). In this study, attenuation image showed no significant difference when exposure dose was changed. However, when exposure dose increased, the amount of dose that patient absorbed increased too, which indicates that CT exposure dose should be decreased to minimum to lower the exposure dose that patient absorbs. Therefore future study needs to discuss the conditions that could minimize exposure dose that gets absorbed by patient during PET-CT scan.

  • This paper presents the design of DSTATCOM (Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator) controller. The results are verified by using PSCAD/EMTDC package. The state equation derived by decomposition analysis of DSTATCOM current component is applied to load model and the combined model which considered constraint condition. In case of single line to ground fault, the conventional method of Pl control is compared with LQR control technique. LQR control is shown to be superior in terms of response profile and composition of voltage sag.

  • State estimators are used to monitor the operating states of power systems in modern EMS. It iteratively calculates the voltage profile of the currently operating power system with voltage, current, and power measurements gathered from the entire system. All the measurements are usually assumed to be obtained simultaneously. It is practically impossible, however, to maintain the synchronism of the measurement data. Recently, phasor measurements synchronized via satellite are used for the operation of these power systems. This paper describes the modified state estimator used to support the processing of synchronized phasor measurements. Synchronized phasor measurements are found to provide synchronism of measurement data and improve the accuracy/redundancy of the measurement data for state estimation. The details of the developed state estimation program and some numerical results of operation are presented.

  • A new high efficiency and low profile on-board DC/DC converter for digital car audio amplifier is proposed. The proposed converter shows the continuous input current, no DC excitation current of the transformer, the minimized electro-magnetic interference (EMI), no output inductor, and the low voltage stress of the secondary rectifier diodes. The 60W industrial sample of the proposed converter is implemented for digital car audio amplifier and the measured efficiency is $88.3\%$ at nominal input voltage.

  • This is a thesis that a quarter-brick size of 100W class open-frame type on board power module comprising telecommunication application is reported. The input voltage is established between 36 and 75 in range in order for power module to be utilized for the telecommunication application, and output were set at 3.3V and 30A. A number of parts used for transformer, inductor, and hit sink are composed of PCB in order for DC-DC converter to be lowered below 8 mm. A constant current control circuit was annexed to the system as well as basic protection prototypes such as over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature were well considered to enhance more credibility, and were tested. As a result, high circuit performance and credibility turned out to be significant.

  • This paper deals with simulation model of the micro-grid system based on the real power system and applying PV generation system to micro-grid system. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation model is developed for use in studying the effect of the dynamics of PV generation to the micro-grid system. Simulation results show that the addition of the PV system improves the voltage profile of the area. Case studies also show that power quality at the load side is improved via voltage compensation at the load bus.
