단감의 품종별 과정부 갈변률과 과육조직의 해부학적 관찰 (Calyx-End Browning in Various Persimmon (Diospyros kaki) Cultivars and Anatomical Observations in Flesh Tissues)

  • 단감(Diospyros kaki) 저장시 문제되는 과정부 갈변은 품종마다 다른 양상을 보이고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 단감품종의 일반적인 과실의 물성특성을 파악하고, 저장 100일 후에 각 품종의 과육갈변이 세포구조에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지에 대해서 조사하였다. 단감 품종은 '부유'(Fuyu), '차랑'(Jiro), '상서조생'(Uenishiwase), '대안단감'(Daiandangam), '로-19'(Ro-19)이며 2003년 10월말에 수확해서 저장 100일 후에 조사하였다. 과실의 각 물성의 특성은 품종마다 다양하였고, '차랑'과 '로-19'는 갈변과가 관찰되지 않았고, '대안단감'의 경우 80%에 가까운 과육 갈변과가 나타났다. 과육 갈변과 발생이 많은 품종인 '부유', '상서조생', '대안단감'과, 과육 갈변과가 발생하지 않는 '차랑' 및 '로-19'와의 과피구조에는 차이가 없는 것으로 조사되었다. '차랑'은 과피층이 외표피층을 포함하여 1~2층으로 형성되어서 갈변이 유도될 만한 세포층 자체를 형성하지 못하는 것으로 보이며, '부유'는 과피층이 2~3층으로 갈변이 유도될 만한 세포층을 제공한 것으로 판단된다. 정상과와 갈변과의 전체적인 조직의 구조적인 차이는 발견되지 못하였으나, 갈변과의 경우 과육 내 소포 소기관이 구별이 되지 못했고, 세포벽의 분해가 진행되는 것으로 관찰되었다.

스토리 기반의 정보 검색 연구 (Story-based Information Retrieval)

  • 웹의 발전과 콘텐츠 산업의 팽창으로 비디오 데이터가 폭발적으로 증가함에 따라 데이터의 정보 검색은 매우 중요한 문제가 되었다. 그동안 비디오 데이터의 정보 검색과 브라우징을 위해 비디오의 프레임(frame)이나 숏(shot)으로부터 색채(color)와 질감(texture), 모양(shape)과 같은 시각적 특징(features)들을 추출하여 비디오의 내용을 표현하고 유사도를 측정하는 내용 기반(content-based)방식의 비디오 분석이 주를 이루었다. 영화는 하위 레벨의 시청각적 정보와 상위 레벨의 스토리 정보를 포함하고 있다. 저차원의 시각적 특징을 통해 내용을 표현하는 내용 기반 분석을 영화에 적용할 경우 내용 기반 분석과 인간이 인지하는 영화의 내용 사이에는 의미적 격차(semantic gap)가 발생한다. 왜냐하면 영화의 스토리는 시간의 진행에 따라 그 내용이 변하고, 관점에 따라 주관적 해석이 가능한 고차원의 의미정보이기 때문이다. 따라서 스토리 차원의 정보 검색을 위해서는 스토리를 모델링하는 정형화된 모형이 필요하다. 최근 들어 소셜 네트워크 개념을 활용한 스토리 기반의 비디오 분석 방법들이 등장하고 있다. 그러나 영화 속 등장인물들의 소셜 네트워크를 통해 스토리를 표현하는 이 방법들은 몇 가지 문제점들을 드러내고 있다. 첫째, 등장인물들의 관계에만 초점이 맞추어져 있으며, 스토리 진행에 따른 등장인물들의 관계 변화를 역동적으로 표현하지 못한다. 둘째, 등장인물의 정체성과 심리상태를 보여주는 감정(emotion)과 같은 심층적 정보를 간과하고 있다. 셋째, 등장인물 이외에 스토리를 구성하는 사건과 배경에 대한 정보들을 반영하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 기존의 스토리 기반의 비디오 분석 방법들의 한계를 살펴보고, 문제 해결을 위해 문학 이론에서 제시하고 있는 서사 구조에 근거하여 스토리 모델링에 필요한 요소들을 인물, 배경, 사건의 세 가지 측면에서 제시하고자 한다.

인조유방의 감촉에 대한 주관적 평가와 인체 생리적 반응 연구 (A Study Measuring the Subjective Sensation and Objective Physiological Responses of Breast Prostheses)

  • This study suggests an alternative breast-prosthesis-making process for female breast cancer patients. From June 2018 to July 2018, we conducted a study using nine females between the ages 40-50 who never had breast cancer. We recorded the reported subjective sensations and objective physiological responses to different types of artificial breast materials: Trulife silicon breast prostheses (TS) and hand-made silk breast prostheses (HS). Considering the materials used in TS and HS individually, we studied the subjective sensation with regards to how each material functioned in a photo (VP), movement (VM) and the visual tactility (VT) sense. The results showed that comparing VP and VT led to more significant differences than those comparing VM and VT. In addition, there was a significant difference in terms of tactile sensation when comparing TS and HS with respect to subjective responses to texture. Subjects reported that HS felt more comfortable and gave a better cooling sensation. However, the measured objective physiological responses indicated that skin temperature was higher with HS than TS when touched. This research contributes to scholarship around alternative and new materials to build breast prostheses for women with breast cancer.

Application of Laser Slit Beam to Characterize Yarn Irregularity

  • The surface evenness and texture of textile products are closely related with the irregularity of yarn thickness which has an important role to influence the quality and the process efficiency. For measuring yam thickness the capacitive method is known to dominate the market, delivering results that are in a close relation with the mechanical properties of yarn, while the optical method offers information that seems related rather with the apparent quality of yarn. If a thin light beam is applied for the optoelectrical measurement, it is very possible that this method can provide us with important information which is not obtainable from the capacitive type measurement. This paper reports the results of a study about the yarn thickness and its variation on the basis of a new measurement system using a laser slit beam. Analysis of the new system confirms that we can extract new information on the yarn irregularity ranging into much short wavelengths. Even the visual shade created by the yam doubling and twisting can be measured and represented well. Depending on the yam types, the thickness measurements show their own characteristics.

어린이그림책화면의 연속성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Continuity of the Image of Picture Book for Children)

  • 어린이그림책에 표현된 일러스트레이션은 하나의 화면뿐만 아니라 화면과 화면의 조화로운 연결로 그림책의 줄거리와 내용을 전달한다. 그림책화면에는 빈 여백과 형태, 질감과 색채, 그리고 공간감 등의 구성요소들이 있어 화면상에 놓여진 위치에 따라 어린이에게 다양한 정서와 감동을 준다. 따라서 어린이그림책에는 자연스러운 이야기 내용과 함께 통일성과 리듬감 있는 구성요소로 화면의 흐름을 전달하는 연속성이 있다. 화면의 연속성은 글과 그림, 화면과 화면, 그리고 화면 내에서 그림의 연결에 따른 시각적 연상으로 이미지전달을 가능하게 하며, 어린이가 이야기 내용을 이해할 수 있도록 한다. 본 연구는 그림책화면의 연속성을 연구 분석함으로써 개성과 창의성을 바탕으로 제작되는 어린이그림책화면의 조화로운 연결에 대한 올바른 표현방향을 제시한다.

Development of Crop Information System using Satellite Images

  • A computer system for crop information was developed using Visual Basic and ArcGIS VBA. The system is operated on ArcGIS 8.3 with Microsoft Access MDB. Landsat +ETM, KOMPSAT-1 EOC, ASTER VNIR and IKONOS panchromatic (Pan) and multi-spectral (MIS) images were included in the system to extract agricultural land use items identifiable at various spatial resolutions of images. Agriculture related data inventories using crop cover information such as texture and average pixel value of each band based on crop cultivation calendar were designed and implemented. Three IKONOS images were loaded in the system to show crop cover characteristics such as rice, pear, grape, red pepper, garlic, and surface water cover of reservoir with field surveys. GIS layers such as DEM (Digital Elevation Model), stream, road, soil, land use and administration boundary were prepared to understand the related characteristics and identify the location easily.

대구광역시 아파트 저층부 석재 사용 실태 분석 (Analysis on Material Color and Use of Stone for the Lower-Parts of Apartment in Daegu)

  • The high-rise and high-density apartment complexes are built on a large scale and occupy a large portion of the city. The facade of the apartment has a great influence on the cityscape. In particular, the lower part of apartment design gives people to important impressions. For the harmonious landscape of the city, the color plan emphasizes its importance as an influential visual design element that forms the urban landscape. In specialized apartment design, especially finishing material on lower-parts of apartment which is recognized by pedestrian is more important planning factor. Also, finishing material which is one of the primary design elements is important for making the entire image about the building with color. Nowadays stone is mostly used for specialized design on lower-level in apartments. Stone makes luxurious image and harmonious landscape as a nature material. But when planning for design, only general stone graphic or pictures is used without specific plan, after construction, there is a big difference between a plan and the actual color and image. Thus based on exact understanding of stone, I analyzed current state of expression for stone which is used for lower-parts of apartments in Daegu. By this, the purpose of this study is to present detailed data to offer the basis for planning specialized design of lower-parts of apartment.

국내외 지사벽지 브랜드의 시각적 표현 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Visual Expression Between Domestic-Overseas Brands of Paperweave Wallcovering)

  • Paperweave wallcoveing is necessary to develop new designs based on the analysis of global trend and reflection of Korean traditional image to improve commercial value in the worldwide market. The purpose of this study was to understand design trend and share valuable data by product analyzing of major paperweave wallcovering brands - Yeomyung (Korea), Phillip Jeffries (USA) and Omexco (Belgium). In the dominant color, the largest proportion is YR. Analysis of each brand color, Omexco is using the widest range of colors, the colors of each brand uses an exclusive of its own brand compared to other brands are Green (Yeomyung), Blue (Phillip Jeffries), Red (Omexco). The number of colors, Yeomyung and Philip Jeffries have a high ratio of bi-color, Omexco is revealing various color expression methods such as 55% solid color, two or three multi-color are each half of the balance. Analysis of weaving, Yeomyung has a high ratio of balanced plain, at number of mixture, Yeomyung and Phillip Jeffries are using mostly paper-yarn but Omexco is using multi-mixture materials in some part of theirs. Regarding analysis of finishing, all three brands are mostly selling unfinished paperweave wallcovering but some solid coated are appearing at Yeomyung and Omexco. Yeomyung has more foil transfer compared with the other brands, Phillip Jeffries has some digital printed products.

인테리어 내장재의 고급감에 관한 시각 및 촉각변수의 수량화 모형 개발 (Development of Quantification Models on Visual and Tactile Design Characteristics for the Luxuriousness of Interior Covering Materials)

  • Affective aspects of design attributes such as color, Pattern, and texture are important to the overall impression and the success of interior products. Among all the interior materials, wallpapers and flooring materials take up largest construction area and they are main components in creating affective impression for customers. This study aims to investigate the relationship between luxuriousness and related affective variables and design elements of wallpapers and flooring materials. The approach consists of 3 steps: (1) selecting related affective features and product design attributes through a literature survey, opinion of expert panel, and focus group interview, (2) conducting evaluation experiments, and (3) developing Kansei models using multivariate statistical analysis and analyzing critical attributes. Evaluation experiment was conducted using a questionnaire made up of 7-point scale and 100-point scale and 30 housewives and 20 interior designers participated in the evaluation experiment. The result of evaluation was analyzed through principal component regression and quantification I analysis. As a result of analyzing the survey data, the relationship between luxuriousness and related affective features and product design attributes was identified, moreover a optimal combination of the design component was identified. Consequently, it is expected that the results of the study would be a basis of the concept of emotion-based design by giving insights about how customers perceive the luxuriousness and suggesting the optimal combination, and providing specific quantitative design guidelines.

서양요리 품질의 결정요인에 관한 연구 (Chief Factors in the Quality of Western Food)

  • There have been many discussions on the importance and part of quality in the marketing field. It also has been an effort in the cooking field to understand how the quality, recognized by customers, influences customer satisfaction in the process of serving western food. This study is a theory about evaluation methods of western food. It can be summarized in three views as below especially with sensuous evaluation methods. First, it is decoration. Visual factors, such as a receptacle and the amount of food in it, the arrangement of food colors, gloss of food, steam arising of from food, additional garnishes on food should be harmonious. Second, it is a flavor. The factors like the taste and smell of food, and feeling of food in the mouth can be evaluated with the taste and the smell. Third, it is texture. It is considered with the sense of touch, the motor sensation in the mouth and the hearing sense. Especially the sense of touch involves feel of receptacle when it is hot or cold as well as feel of food. This study has been conducted for providing customers with higher-quality western food, which is based on a theoretical study about evaluation methods. During the study, the limit was found that there is no measuring instrument, since the study was restricted in a theoretical work. For more accurate research, the measuring instrument should be developed through the positive research.
