The purpose of this study was to delve into the features of paradigm in conjunction with changing convergence culture in the 21st century's knowledge-based society, the influence of convergence paradigm on fashion, and changes in convergence culture. After identifying the features of the paradigm of knowledge-based society in association with changing convergence culture, the characteristics of fashion paradigm were examined in con=junction with the characteristics of the paradigm, and the convergence phenomena of modern fashion were investigated to figure out fashion trends. The findings of the study were as follows: According to the features of ubiquitous technology based on the theories of Mark Weiser and other futurologists, the characteristics of changing convergence culture in knowledge-based society could be classified into invisibility, relationship and materialized virtuality. When relevant theories were reviewed, invisibility, relationship and materialized virtuality are identified as the unique features of the paradigm of changing convergence culture in knowledge-based society. But those characteristics aren't separate concepts. Instead, they are being connected and fused together, thanks to universalized digital technology and ubiquitous technology. Changing convergence culture has brought a change to fashion paradigm as well. There is a type of design that lets all the characteristics stand out, and another design fuses just some of them together conceptually or formally. That is, fashion paradigm is marked by a combination of invisibility, relationship and an embodiment of virtual reality to be in line with changes in convergence culture.

Various simulation applications for hair, clothing, and makeup of a 3D avatar can provide more useful information to users before they select a hairstyle, clothes, or cosmetics. To enhance their reality, the shapes, textures, and colors of the avatars should be similar to those found in the real world. For a more realistic 3D avatar color reproduction, this paper proposes a spectrum-based color reproduction algorithm and color management process with respect to the implementation of the algorithm. First, a makeup color reproduction model is estimated by analyzing the measured spectral reflectance of the skin samples before and after applying the makeup. To implement the model for a makeup simulation system, the color management process controls all color information of the 3D facial avatar during the 3D scanning, modeling, and rendering stages. During 3D scanning with a multi-camera system, spectrum-based camera calibration and characterization are performed to estimate the spectrum data. During the virtual makeup process, the spectrum data of the 3D facial avatar is modified based on the makeup color reproduction model. Finally, during 3D rendering, the estimated spectrum is converted into RGB data through gamut mapping and display characterization.
This study is to design costumes of each characters, seen in the film of 'TITANIC' directed by James Cameron in 1997, by analyzing various costumes for each roles in the film. The 'TITANIC' has got the 'Oscar Award' in 1998 in 11 sectors for its' high box office record and the finest of the work, based on successful visualization of the costumes for the contemporary characters by historical research. The social background of 'TITANIC' would be presumed in the year of 1912, of which era was also called by 'La Belle Epoque', to say, 'good period'. This study, therefore, traced the representative art trend for the 1910's, together with political, economical and social backgrounds as 1st step. The 2nd step is the consideration of fashion trends of costume affected by the contemporary trends such as Art Nouveau and Art Deco in the period. The 3rd step is the analysis of costumes in the film of 'TITANIC'. Finally, this work has designed the virtual costumes of the characters, in imaginary scenes, which could denote the nature of the personality. Hopefully, this study could help designers show sustainable development in creating cinema costumes and other related projects, based on the understandings of this work.

Because individual HRTFs (Head-Related Transfer Functions) vary from a person to a person, a HRTF database has been measured by researchers to investigate the inter-subject variation, and to generate high fidelity virtual sound image. Individual HRTFs not only vary between subjects but also vary due to wearing clothes and glasses in daily life. However, influence of different dressing condition on the measured HRTF was not sufficiently investigated. To quantify the effect of wearing clothes and glasses, dummy's HRTF is measured in an anechoic chamber with various dressing condition, and is evaluated in the sense of spectral distortion. HRTFs are measured both in the median plane and in the horizontal plane. In the median plane, under 6kHz, effect of different wearing clothes and glasses is negligible. Over 6kHz, however, effect of clothing distorts HRTF about 6dB in the sense of spectral distortion. Moreover, at high frequencies, effect of glasses is no longer negligible. In the horizontal plane, at some azimuths, even additional light cloth over the dummy can change the spectrum of HRTF (6dB spectral distortion) especially when sound source is at contralateral positions. Therefore, HRTF measurement with different wearing conditions can broaden the capability of HRTF customization whose technique utilizes a HRTF database.
The purpose of this study is to analysis types of light and to find the characteristics of light in contemporary fashion design. In a scientific context, light is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength that has the characteristics of straightness, reflection, refraction, scattering and diffraction. But in philosophical speculations, light has been used as a metaphor of 'being', 'to-be' or 'enlightenment.' And through the ages, people have tried to represent and apply the light into plastic art like painting and architecture. The types of light in fashion design was categorized as those; reflective light from the surface of clothing which is the result of interaction between illumination and material, representative light as the pattern of light or light effect such as sun or its rays and optical or psychedelic patterns, luminescent light from light emitting material like phosphorescence or LED which combines into fashion design, projective light from a medium to reveal virtual patterns on the surface or a fashion design itself using holography. These lights in fashion design can be considered as reflection of emphasis of sexuality, longing for fantasy and mystique, visualization of interaction and communication and groping for the play.

Recently, Digital clothing techniques using computer graphics to reappear clothes are activated in fashion area and Researches incorporating fashion flows and 3D techniques are frequently progressed. In fashion industry, Using smartphone can make successful result by catching a change of trend and adding an emotional factor. Conventional 3D fitting services are only provided in store or internet sites installed avatar system, virtual mirror. This study suggests a fashion fitting service system saving time and oneself by using I-phone in consumers' position. In this system, Companies can market their product easily to consumers, consumers can choose various product and check their fitness.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the various types of styles and characteristics of Japanese street fashion since the 1990's. The primary source of data has been a collection of visual materials which include snapshots of young men and women in the Japanese street scene starting in the 1990's. To approach the Japanese street fashion comprehensively, I have divided the background of the Japanese fashion into three parts: 1. The birth of various fashion markets like the Dankai junior generation, Hetauma generation and Shinjinrui junior generation. 2. The pursuit of fashion senses like the well-balanced sense of independence and commensalism, uncommon sense and sense of a tassel. 3. A boom in new fashion business types like SPA and select shop. After the 1990's, the Japanese street fashion has changed through the popularity of styles which include the conservative casual style, sexy casual style, Harajuku pop style, and 3 Re(revival, remake, recycle) fashion style. The characteristics of the Japanese street fashion reflects the performance of virtual reality, the sign of style culture, and the communication of process.
Three-dimensional body scanners were used for years in the clothing manufacturing fields. The 3D body surface provide essential data to draft patterns for mass customization, virtual fit model, and computerized patternmaking systems. This research proposed the methods of drafting patterns for men's jacket by using three dimensional body scan data. Eight male subjects were scanned, the surface data was flattened. The differentials of the flattened body surface and the jacket draft were measured, and analyzed the regressions. To verify the fit of the patterns, the jacket was constructed by the regression formulae and tested by experts. The fit of the jacket were significantly improved rather than a ready-made suit especially the shoulder areas. This means that the methods that we proposed were good to improve the fit of the garments and could be used effectively to implement mass customization strategies in the apparel retail industry.
This study aimed to reveal the perceptions and trends of digital fashion technology through an informational approach. A big data analysis was conducted after collecting the text shown in a web environment from April 2019 to April 2021. Key words were derived through text mining analysis and network analysis, and the structure of perception of digital fashion technology was identified. Using textoms, we collected 8144 texts after data refinement, conducted a frequency of emergence and central component analysis, and visualized the results with word cloud and N-gram. The frequency of appearance also generated matrices with the top 70 words, and a structural equivalent analysis was performed. The results were presented with network visualizations and dendrograms. Fashion, digital, and technology were the most frequently mentioned topics, and the frequencies of platform, digital transformation, and start-ups were also high. Through clustering, four clusters of marketing were formed using fashion, digital technology, startups, and augmented reality/virtual reality technology. Future research on startups and smart factories with technologies based on stable platforms is needed. The results of this study contribute to increasing the fashion industry's knowledge on digital fashion technology and can be used as a foundational study for the development of research on related topics.
With digital technology innovation, increased data access and mobile network use by consumers, products and services are changing toward pursuing differentiated values for personalization, and personalized markets are rapidly emerging in the fashion industry. This study aims to identify trends in digital customized automation technology by deriving types of digital customizing and analyzing cases by type, and to present directions for the development of digital customizing processes and the use of technology in the future. As a research method, a literature study for a theoretical background, a case study for classification and analysis of types was conducted. The results of the study are as follows. The types of digital customizing can be classified into three types: 'cooperative customization', 'selective composition and combination', 'transparent suggestion', and automation technologies shown in each type include 3D printing, 3D virtual clothing, robot mannequin, human automatic measurement program, AR-based fitting service, big data, and AI-based curation function. With the development of digital automation technology, the fashion industry environment is also changing from existing manufacturing-oriented to consumer-oriented, and the production process is rapidly changing with IT and artificial intelligence-based automation technology. The results of this study hope that digital customized automation technology will meet various needs of personalization and customization and present the future direction of digital fashion technology, where fashion brands will expand based on the spread of digital technology.
