Vibration and Noise of air conditioner are entirely determined by compressor vibration. Compressor vibration transmitted to the enclosure of air conditioner or Pipes connected compressor with heat exchanger. Enclosure generated noise and vibration. Therefore, the analysis of compressor vibration analysis is considered significant technical issue. For the reduction of vibration of compressor, it is necessary to grasp correctly vibration transmission paths and excitation sources in the compressor shell. Because, shell (Surface of compressor) shows whole vibration characteristic of compressor mechanism. In this paper, vibration intensity was applied to measure vibration energy flow on the shell. From this technique, it is possible to catch the path of vibration propagation along the one cycle and the location of vibration energy sources may change with time on the shell.
The application of neutron noise analysis (NNA) to the ex-core neutron detector signal for monitoring the vibration characteristics of a reactor core support barrel (CSB) was investigated. Ex-core flux data were generated by using a nonanalog Monte Carlo neutron transport method in a simulated CSB model where the implicit capture and Russian roulette technique were utilized. First and third order beam and shell modes of CSB vibration were modeled based on parallel processing simulation. A NNA module was developed to analyze the ex-core flux data based on its time variation, normalized power spectral density, normalized cross-power spectral density, coherence, and phase differences. The data were then analyzed with a fuzzy logic module to determine the vibration characteristics. The ex-core neutron signal fluctuation was directly proportional to the CSB's vibration observed at 8Hz and15Hzin the beam mode vibration, and at 8Hz in the shell mode vibration. The coherence result between flux pairs was unity at the vibration peak frequencies. A distinct pattern of phase differences was observed for each of the vibration models. The developed fuzzy logic module demonstrated successful recognition of the vibration frequencies, modes, orders, directions, and phase differences within 0.4 ms for the beam and shell mode vibrations.

Information storage devices using disks have a disk vibration at the frequency which is equivalent to the disk rotational speed. They also have a track vibration due to the disk eccentricity at the same frequency. In near field recording systems, the former affects the air-gap servo and the latter affects the tracking servo. In this paper, we introduce a novel control algorithm based on the internal model principle to both servos. A controller block designed by the principle is connected to the base lead-lag type compensator in parallel in order to cancel the repeatable run-out due to the disk vibration or eccentricity. Simulation and practical application of the algorithm on a near field recording system show good servo performance.

In this paper, the vibration suppression scheme based on a model referece approach is proposed. The vibration results from the coupling of the system and its frequency are given by the mechanical factors. In the proposed scheme, a low frequency vibration mode is transferred to high one. And also its damping ratio can be increased without any mechanical redesign. Therefore, bandwidth and open loop gain of the plant are increased and the performance of the system can be improved. This paper analyzes the proposed vibration suppression scheme, which is compared with the conventional control scheme for mechanical resonance suppression. For proving the realistic validity, we apply the proposed scheme to a LOS(Line Of Sight) stabilization system which has vibration effect. Finally, the proposed scheme is verified through simulations and experiments.
The present study deals with the hydroelastic vibration analysis of structures in contact with fluid via coupled fluid-structure interaction (FSI) embedded with a finite element method (FEM) such that a structure displacement formulation is coupled with a fluid pressure-displacement formulation. For the preliminary study and validation of FEM based coupled FSI analysis, hydroelastic vibration characteristics of a rectangular plate in contact with fluid are first compared with the elastic vibration in terms of boundary condition and mode frequency. Numerical results from coupled FSI analysis have been shown to be rational and accurate, compared to energy method based theoretical solutions and experimental results. The effect of free surface on the vibration mode is numerically studied by changing the submerged depth of a rectangular plate. As a practical application, the hull structural vibration of 4,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) container ship is considered. Hydroelastic results of the ship hull structure are compared with those obtained from the elastic condition.

The objective of this work is to describe the main steps involved in the derivation of a GBT (Generalised Beam Theory) formulation to analyse the vibration behaviour of loaded cold-formed steel members and also to illustrate the application and capabilities of this formulation. In particular, the paper presents and discusses the results of a detailed investigation about the local and global free vibration behaviour of lipped channel simply supported columns. After reporting some relevant earlier GBT-based results dealing with the buckling and vibration behaviours of columns and load-free members, the paper addresses mostly issues concerning the variation of the column fundamental frequency and vibration mode nature/shape with its length and axial compression level. For validation purposes, some GBT-based results are also compared with values obtained by means of 4-node shell finite element analyses performed in the code ABAQUS.

This paper addresses what amount of whole-body vibration is exposed to pilots of UH60 helicopters during flight. To measure the whole-body exposed from the feet and seat, the 12-axis vibration measurement system was used. It enables simultaneous measurement of vibration exposure from the body contact area of the feet, hip and back. The measured 12-axis vibration signals are exploited to the comfort level of UH60 helicopters during flight. It is shown that the evaluated ride value is close to $0.74{\sim}0.79m/s^2$ and that it is equivalent to the semantic scale of 'fairly uncomfortable'. To assess the health effects of whole-body vibration exposed to pilots of UH60 helicopters during their flight, the rms-based and VDV(vibration dose value)-based evaluation results of measured four-axis vibration signals are shown in this work. The fatigue-decreased proficiency limit, whose level is half of the exposure limit, is expected to come after the two-hour flight. The exposure limit is shown to reach after the 10-hour flight.
In order to identify damage of highway bridges rapidly, a method for damage identification using dynamic response of bridge induced by moving vehicle and static test data is proposed. To locate damage of the structure, displacement energy damage index defined from the energy of the displacement response time history is adopted as the indicator. The displacement response time histories of bridge structure are obtained from simulation of vehicle-bridge coupled vibration analysis. The vehicle model is considered as a four-degree-of-freedom system, and the vibration equations of the vehicle model are deduced based on the D'Alembert principle. Finite element method is used to discretize bridge and finite element model is set up. According to the condition of displacement and force compatibility between vehicle and bridge, the vibration equations of the vehicle and bridge models are coupled. A Newmark-${\beta}$ algorithm based professional procedure VBAP is developed in MATLAB, and used to analyze the vehicle-bridge system coupled vibration. After damage is located by employing the displacement energy damage index, the damage extent is estimated through the least-square-method based model updating using static test data. At last, taking one simply supported bridge as an illustrative example, some damage scenarios are identified using the proposed damage identification methodology. The results indicate that the proposed method is efficient for damage localization and damage extent estimation.
