This study is aimed to analyze economic effectiveness of the sea cucumber seed releasing program in Gyeongsangbuk-do region. Based on the surveyed data, the production value of released sea cucumber and the seed releasing program cost are estimated and compared to determine the economic validity of the sea cucumber seed releasing program. Results show that the B/C ratio, as an indicator of economic evaluation, is 2.0, indicating that the sea cucumber seed releasing program in Gyeongsangbuk-do region would be economically feasible under the current production and market conditions. Sensitivity analyses of main variables indicate that the economic effectiveness can be increased when the recapture rate would be increased and the seed price of sea cucumber would be decreased.
Monthly wind stress, wind stress curl and volume transport stream functions are computed in the Eastern Sea(Japan Sea) based upon observed wind and atmospheric pressure data respectively. The presented two results show different distributios on locality and season but as common features the results reveal the northwesterly surface wind stress \ulcorner 새 the monsoon in winter, south to southwesterly wind stress \ulcorner 새 the southerly wind in summer and strond anticyclonic curl in the northern part on the Eastern Sea(Japan Sea) in winter. In the distributions obtained from the sea level atmospheric pressure data, the maximum value of the wind stress and of curls of small scales are shown off the southeast coast of Siberia and northeast coast of Korea. Volume transport distributions obtained from the Sverdrup relationship suggest that the strong northward boundary current can be formed along the northeast coast of Korea in winter and weak southward boundary current in summer.
Based on the monthly weather report of Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) and daily sea surface temperature (SST) data from National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDl) (1991-2001), mean heat fluxes were estimated at the Gunsan harbor Net heat flux was transported from the air to the sea surface during March to early September, and it amounts to $125\;Wm^{-2}$ in average daily during May to June. During the middle of September to February, the transfer of net heat flux was conversed from the sea surface to the air with $-125\;Wm^{-2}$ in mininum value in October. Short wave radiation was ranged from 50 to $248\;Wm^{-2}$ showing maxima in April to June. Long wave radiation was ranged from 25 to $92\;Wm^{-2}$ with mininum value in June to July. Sensible heat flux denoting negative values in April to August was ranged from -30 to $72\;Wm^{-2}.$ Latent heat flux was ranged from 15 to $82\;Wm^{-2}$ with maxima in August to September. The phase of heat exchange was changed from cooling to heating in the end of February, and from heating to cooling In the beginning of September. The advective term of heat flux showed minima in April to June and maxima in November. The ratio of temperature variations was 1.37 in the sea surface process and the horizontal process by advection. This indicates that the main factor in variation of temperature at Gunsan harbor is the heat exchange process through the sea surface from the air.
The introduction of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) has strengthened and extended the value of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) as a fundamental tool for sustainable development. In particular, SEA helps to overcome the limitation of project EIA as a stand alone approach that is applied relatively late in the decision making cycle. SEA is applied to proposals of policy, plan, and/or programme when major alternatives are open. In Korea, similar to SEA, the Prior Environmental Review System (PERS) was introduced to overcome the limitations of the EIA, by checking the environmental impacts on major policy and administrative actions in the early stage of decision making process. SEA appears in various national, regional and international laws. SEA is addressed specifically in the UNECE SEA protocol to the Espoo Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a transboundary context, as well as the European Commission SEA Directive (2001/42/EC). SEA is a valuable tool for integrating sustainability decisions into country's policies, plans and programmes. This paper reviews the policy direction for implementation of the SEA and efficient Environmental Assessment (EA) through integration of the PERS and the EIA.
The weather has a lot of influence on the cultivation of crops. Weather information on agricultural crop cultivation areas is indispensable for efficient cultivation and management of agricultural crops. Despite the high demand for agricultural weather, research on this is in short supply. In this research, we deal with the production method of agricultural weather in Jeollanam-do, which is the main production area of onions through GloSea5 and deep learning. A deep neural network model using the sliding window method was used and utilized to train daily weather prediction for predicting the agricultural weather. RMSE and MAE are used for evaluating the accuracy of the model. The accuracy improves as the learning period increases, so we compare the prediction performance according to the learning period and the prediction period. As a result of the analysis, although the learning period and the prediction period are similar, there was a limit to reflect the trend according to the seasonal change. a modified deep layer neural network model was presented, that applying the difference between the predicted value and the observed value to the next day predicted value.

The species composition and distribution of catches by dredge gear in the Yeongil Bay, Korea were investigated on a seasonal basis from February to November, 2015. Total catches consisted of 44 species and 35 families. They were 13 species of fish, 10 species of crustacea, 5 species of echinodermata, 5 species of gastropoda, 4 species of cephalopoda and 3 species of bivalvia. Major catch species was shellfish and had seasonal variations in catch. In spring and winter, the catch of ark shell (Scapharca broughtonii) was increased. Adversely, the catch of admas venus clam (Callithaca adamsi) increased in sunmmer and autumn. Species diversity indices was high as the value of 1.99 in spring, and low to the value of 0.34 in summer. In addition, multi dimentional scaling (MDS) indices also was high in spring as the value of 1.99. In summer, the index was low as the value of 0.34. Similarity analysis based on species data was transformed by fourth root. With the result of cluster analysis and MDS analysis, species was divided into two groups. The first group as Group A consists of winter and spring species and another was Group B made of species in summer and winter.

Myofibrillar proteins were prepared from red muscle and white muscle of fresh water fish and sea water fish, and their thermostabilities and effect of temperature on the myofibrillar ATPase activities were compared. Differences in temperature dependency of myofibrillar ATPase activities were found between two species. Thermodynamic data for inactivation of myofibrillar proteins, such as D value, Z value, $\Delta$$H^{{\neq}}$, $\Delta$$G^{{\neq}}$ and $\Delta$$S^{\neq}$ revealed that thermostabilities of myofibrillar proteins from fresh water fish were higher than those from sea water fish, and that myofibrillar proteins from red muscle were more heat labile than those from white muscle.
It has been suggested that the fluorine content of crude sea salt may have special value in the prevention of tooth decay, by A.E.Schaefer and J/H/.Shaw. Shaw calculated that if crude sea salt containing about 40 ppm of fluorine were used, the consumption of 26-44 grams of the salt per day for each prison would be sufficient for the prevention of tooth decay. He also suggested that this level of salt consumption is actually quite common among many population in the far and near east. In order to examine the fluorine contents of sea salt in Korea, several kinds of solar-evaporating salt and pan-evaporating salt were studied. The experimental results may be summarized as follows; 1. Fluorine contents of 9 kinds of solar-evaporating salt ranged from 3.8 to 15.0 ppm and the average was 7.52 $\pm$ 3.89 ppm. 2. Fluorine contents of 7 kinds of pan-evaporating salt ranged from 2.5 to 7.1 ppm. 3. The more the salt is refined, the less becomes the fluorine content. 4. Even the crudest sea salt can not contain about 40 ppm of fluorine. 5. Statistically, daily consumption of sea slat for each person in Korea is 28 grams.

The laboratory tests are performed on how the liquefaction potential of the sea dike structures on the saturated sand or silty sand seabed could be affected due to earthquake before and after construction results are given as follows ; 1. Earthquake damages to sea dike structures consist of lateral deformation, settlement, minor abnormality of the structures and differential settlement of embankments, etc. It is known that severe disasters due to this type of damages are not much documented. Because of its high relative cost of the preventive measures against this type of damages, the designing engineer has much freedom for the play of judgement and ingenuity in the selection of the construction methods, that is, by comparing the cost of the preventive design cost at a design stage to reconstruction cost after minor failure. 2. The factors controlling the liquefaction potential of the hydraulic fill structure are magnitude of earthquake(max. surface velocity), N-value(relative density), gradation, consistency(plastic limit), classification of soil(G & vs), ground water level, compaction method, volumetric shear stress and strain, effective confining stress, and primary consolidation. 3. The probability of liquefaction can be evaluated by the simple method based on SPT and CPT test results or the precise method based on laboratory test results. For sandy or silty sand seabed of the concerned area of this study, it is said that evaluation of liquefaction potential can be done by the one-dimensional analysis using some geotechnical parameters of soil such as Ip, Υt' gradation, N-value, OCR and classification of soils. 4. Based on above mentioned analysis, safety factor of liquefaction potential on the sea bed at the given site is Fs =0.84 when M = 5.23 or amax= 0.12g. With sea dike structures H = 42.5m and 35.5m on the same site Fs= 3.M~2.08 and Fs = 1.74~1.31 are obtained, respectively. local liquefaction can be expected at the toe of the sea dike constructed with hydraulic fill because of lack of constrained effective stress of the area.
In Korea, deap-sea fishing industry plays an important role in a food industry. However, it is in a difficult situation because of the more competitive business environment. Therefore, there is a need to restructure the deap-sea fishing industry by scraping superannuated ships. This paper is designed to present scrap programs for deap-sea fishing industry of Korea. We performed ratio analysis to evaluate financial performance of fishing companies and then applied a mixed integer programming (MIP) model to identify optimal schedule for scraping. The results of the financial ratio analysis indicates that it is legible to provide governmental aid to Atlantic trawl, Northern Pacific trawl, and Indian ocean trawl with minimum required rate of return (MRR) of 3%, and the Atlantic strip fishing industry is qualified to receive the governmental aid with MRR value of 5%. Furthermore, by applying the MIP model to develop scrap planning, we demonstrate how our model can be used to restructure the deap-sea fishing industry of Korea.
