A Study on Index of Vegetation Surface Roughness using Multiangular Observation

  • A satellite remote sensing is useful for vegetation monitoring. But it has some problem. One of these, it is difficult to find a difference of vegetation surface roughness using satellite remote sensing. Each vegetation type has unique surface roughness, for example needle leaves forest, broad leaves forest and grassland. Difference of vegetation surface roughness can be detected by satellite multiangular observation. In this study, objective is to propose index of vegetation surface roughness using BRF property. General vegetation indices are calculated from nadir data of satellite data. A proposed index is calculated from two different observation zenith angle data. Two different zenith data can provide BRF (Bi-directional Reflectance Factor) property of satellite observation data. A proposed index was able to detect different value on where NDVI shows similar high value areas of rice field and forest. This index is useful for vegetation monitoring.

  • This study aims to propose an assessment model on environmental economics which will provide useful information in making a decision for the implementation of pro-environmental and economical construction projects. To meet the objective, this study suggests a procedure to estimate environmental cost of construction projects. The model combines environmental load assessment and environmental value assessment. The environmental cost of pollutant generated from the construction project was estimated utilizing the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) which is a value assessment method borrowed from economic science. The devised model is expected to provide a useful methodology that will scientifically support the planning and management of sustainable construction not only in the environmental aspect but also in the economical aspect.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 외국학술지 지원센터로 시범 선정된 K대 도서관의 원문복사서비스에 대한 경제적 가치를 추정하기 위한 것이다. 신제품이나 신규 서비스의 수요 예측에 활용되는 Bass 확산모형이 본 연구에서 활용되었다. 본 연구를 위하여 2007년 9월 10일부터 9월 20일까지 11일간에 걸친 설문조사도 함께 이루어졌다. 경제적 가치의 추정결과 유용가치는 2015년에 20억원을 약간 상회하는 것으로 나타났고, 지불의사가치의 경우는 20억원에 조금 못 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구에서 외국학술지 지원센터의 경제적 가치분석은 원문복사서비스에 한정되었고, 이를 위한 분석방법도 유용가치와 지불의사가치로 제한되었다. 유용가치와 지불의사가치의 인구통계적 분석(성별, 연령, 근무처, 학력)도 함께 이루어졌다.

건강증진행위, 자아가치감 및 통제위와의 관계연구 (A Study on the Relationship among Health Promotion Activity, Value' Placed on Self, and Locus of Control)

  • The purpose of this study were l) to provide information useful in developing an individualized health promotion program, 2) to test the correlations among the level of locus of control, health promotion activities and value placed on self. 3) to assess the factors of health promotion activities and value placed on self. The level of locus of control was measured by Walston/Walston's scales. The levels of health promotion activities and value placed on self were measured by Pender/Pender's scales. The sample consist of 122 female students in a University in Seoul. Their mean ages were 21. The results are summarized as follows; 1. Hypothesis 1 : The higher the score of internal health locus of control, the higher the score of health promotion activities was supported. 2. Hypothesis 2 : The higher the score of value placed on self, the higher the score of health promotion activites was supported. 3. Hypothesis 3 : The higher the score of value placed on self, the higher the score of internal health locus of control was supported. 4. The highest score of the factors of health promotion activities is nutritional practice$(14.976\pm.907)$ and the lowest score is self care$(1l.930\pm1.169).$ In conclusion, several implications for nursing emerge from the theory and research behind the locus of control concept. First, scales to measure locus of control may be useful in evaluating health education programs. Second, it may be adventageous to screen individuals using a health locus of control scale before placement into a treatment program that matches their needs. Third, health professionals may want to train individuals to become more internals appear more likely to engage in positive health behaviors.

동태적 측도를 이용한 경제성 평가 (Evaluation of Economic Alternatives with Dynamic Measures)

  • This paper presents a new present value measure, the dynamic present value, or DPV. DPV takes into account not only the value of the realized cash flow but also that of potential cash flow. The DPV approach enables the analyst to observe differences in the present value of the alternatives every period over the whole time period of interest. This is the most fundamental advantage of the DPV approach over the traditional present value approach in which the present value of the alternatives is evaluated only one particular point of time. The concepts of the realized and potential cash flows are also developed in this paper. These new concepts are found to be useful elements in evaluating economic alternatives.

Influence of Older Consumers' Future Time Perspective on the Intention to Purchase Masstige Brand Fashion Products

  • Purpose: This study explores the relationship between future time perspective and older consumers' masstige product consumption, specifically, their intention to purchase masstige brand products, with a focus on their motivational drives from an functional value and symbolic value perspective. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 419 people aged 54 to 64 years in South Korea and the hypotheses were examined using structural equation modeling. Results: Our results indicated that middle-aged and older consumers who have expanded future time perspective have higher intention to purchase masstige brands and their functional value and symbolic value of masstige brands were found to mediate future time perspective and intention to purchase masstige brands. Conclusions: The findings offer insights into masstige brand consumption by older South Korean consumers that may be useful for both academics and marketers.

소비자와 제공자가 자각하는 간호서비스와 측정도구에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Nursing Service Perceived by Consumers and Providers, and the Tool that Measures Nursing Service)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to measure the nursing service perceived value by consumer and providers, and to investigate the relationship among nursing service, general satisfaction and hospital revisiting intent, and to examinate the tools that measures nursing service's reliability, construct validity and usefulness. Method: The questionnaire was developed and distributed to 300 patients and 210 nurses at three general hospitals. For data analysis, SPSS/PC program was used. Result: The nursing service perceived value by providers is higher than that by consumers. There are distinctive difference in the expectation, and importance and performance values of the nursing service perceived. In examination of the relationship among nursing service, general satisfaction and hospital revisiting intent, nursing service has a deep relationship with general satisfaction, but doesn't have relationship with hospital revisiting intent. The tool that measures nursing service has a good reliability and construct validity. In analysis on the usefulness between the tools, SERVPERF tool is more useful than SERVQUAL tool. conclusion: The nursing service perceived value by consumer is different that by providers, and the tool that measures nursing service has a good reliability and construct validity. The SERVPERF tool is more useful than SERVQUAL tool.

Genome size estimation of 43 Korean Carex

  • The genome size is defined as the amount of DNA in an unreplicated gametic chromosome complement and is expressed as the 1C value. It is a fundamental parameter of organisms that is useful for studies of the genome, as well as biodiversity and conservation. The genome sizes of Korean plants, including Carex (Cyperaceae), have been poorly reported. In this study, we report the genome sizes of 43 species and infraspecific taxa of Korean Carex using flow cytometry, and these results represent about 24.4% of the Carex species and infraspecific taxa distributed on the Korean peninsula. The Plant DNA C-Value Database (release 7.1) updated with and now including our data (a total of 372 Carex accessions) shows that the average genome size of members of the Carex species is 0.47 pg (1C), and the largest genome (C. cuspidate Bertol.; 1C = 1.64 pg) is 8.2 times larger than the smallest (C. brownii Tuck., C. kobomugi Ohwi, C. nubigena D. Don ex Tilloch & Taylor, and C. paxii Kuk.; 1C = 0.20 pg). The large genomes are frequently found in the subgen. Carex, especially in sect. Aulocystis, sect. Digitatae, sect. Glaucae, sect. Paniceae, and sect. Siderostictae. Our data updates the current understanding of genome sizes in Carex. This will serve as the basis for understanding the phylogeny and evolution of Carex and will be especially useful for future genome studies.

남녀 대학생의 가치관에 따른 의복행동 및 의복구매행동 연구 (A Study on Clothing Behavior and Clothing Purchasing Behavior based on Value of University Students)

  • This study was intended to examine factor structure of value and clothing behavior and the effects of value on clothing behavior, to investigate clothing behavior and clothing purchasing behavior of the groups segmented by the value factors and the difference of those between male group and female group and to provide useful information for establishment of marketing strategies. The subjects were 575 university students. A total of 575 questionnaires was analyzed with factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, ${\chi}^2-test$, regression analysis, and correlation analysis. The results were as follows: 1. Value was composed of 2 factors: personal orientation value and social orientation value. Clothing behavior were composed of 9 factors: interest, fashion, statue symbol, individuality, psychological dependence, comfort, aesthetic sense, economical efficiency, and social approval. 2. Clothing behavior and clothing purchasing behavior were significantly different among 3 groups segmented by 2 value factors. 3. The effects of value on clothing behavior was significantly different. 4. The effects of value on clothing behavior, clothing behavior and clothing purchasing behavior between male group and female group were different.

정보시스템 투자의 성과격차 유발요인에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study of Factors Affecting the Value Gap in IS Investment)

  • Frequently. lots of organizations have experienced the value discrepancy between the expected value and the realized value from IS (information systems) investments. Being positive or negative the difference is. however, the existence of discrepancy itself is an evidence of less-than-sound management and measurement of IS projects. Analyzing the factors that cause such discrepancy has become an issue of scrutiny both in academia and in practice. We model which factors. as predictors, will affect the value discrepancy, as dependent variables. in IS investment. This research will establish and examine the research model. the validity of category classification of value discrepancy factors and the perceptual level of IS value discrepancy by survey research. As a result of the survey research. the strategic alignment. the proper system design for staffs. the project planning capability. and interdepartmental task cooperation are perceived as the factors that significantly affect the value discrepancy. And known as IS success factors such as the managerial support, the change management, the standardized process. and the competitive investment are not significant factors. The research findings will provide and emphasize useful implications which factors should be deliberately investigated in IS investment both for practices considering IS deployment and for academia.
