  • 본 논문에서는 프레스공정라인에서 발생하는 고장을 감지하고 분류하기 위한 고장진단기법을 제안한다. 또한 윤활유 레벨을 자동감지 하기 위한 방법도 제안하다. 제안한 방법에서는 FFT 주파수해석과 여러 경계인수를 갖는 ART2 신경회로망을 사용하며, LabVIEW를 이용하여 고장진단 및 윤활유 레벨 자동감시를 위한 GUI(Graphical User Interface) 프로그램을 제작하여 고장진단을 수행하였다. 실험결과들로부터 제안한 유도전동기 고장진단 및 윤활유 레벨 자동감시시스템의 성능을 확인하였다.

  • Power steering of a car is used to reduce driver's handle control power. It is usually operated by oil pressure of engine power. However, electrically power steering (EPS) is used recently instead of oil pressure type for environmental and economical reason.   • High speed machining is the core technology that influences the performance of machine tools, and the high speed motor spindle is widely used for the high speed machine tools. The important problem in high speed spindle is to minimize the thermal effect by motor and bearing and frequency effect. This paper presents the thermal characteristic analysis and frequency experiment for a high speed spindle considering the flow rate of cooling oil. A high speed spindle is composed of angular contact ceramic ball bearings, high speed built-in motor, oil cooling jacket and so on. The thermal analyses of high speed spindle need to minimize the thermal effect and maximize the cooling effect and they are carried out under the various cooling conditions. Heat generations of the bearing and the high speed motor are estimated from the theoretical and experimental data. To find out the characteristic of vibration, the high speed spindle is excited in operational range. This result can be applied to the design and manufacture of a high speed tapping spindle.

  • 엔진에 터보차져를 사용하게 되면 엔진의 출력도 향상되지만 동시에 엔진의 온도도 높아지게 된다. 특히 피스톤의 경우는 냉각이 문제가 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 오일 젯을 사용하는데, 오일 젯은 오일을 피스톤의 밑 부분에 분사하여 피스톤을 냉각시키는 것이다. 오일 젯이 사용된다면, 오일의 분사로 인하여 오일 유량의 증가및 피스톤으로부터의 열전달에 의하여 높아진 오일 온도 문제를 해결하기 위하여 오일 펌프 용량 증대와 오일 쿨러의 사용이 필요하다. 그러나 용량 증대 오일 펌프와 오일 쿨러를 사용하면 엔진의 마찰 토크가 증가하는 원인이 된다. 본 연구에서는 오일 젯, 오일 쿨러 및 오일 펌프의 용량 증대로 인하여 엔진의 마찰 토크가 증가하는 정도에 대하여 연구하였다. 또한 각 부품의 사양을 변경함에 따라 마찰 토크가 얼마나 영향을 받는가도 측정되었다. 저속에서는 오일 펌프와 오일 쿨러에 의한 영향이 크고 고속에서는 오일 쿨러에 의한 영향이 큼을 알 수 있었다.

A comparative evaluation of peppermint oil and lignocaine spray as topical anesthetic agents prior to local anesthesia in children: a randomized clinical trial

  • Background: In pediatric dentistry, fear and anxiety are common among children. Local anesthetics (LA) are widely used to control pain and reduce discomfort in children during dental treatment. Topical anesthetics play a vital role in reducing pain and the unpleasant sensation of a needle puncture in children. Peppermint oil has been extensively used for various diseases. However, its anesthetic properties remain unknown. Peppermint oil, used in mouthwashes, toothpastes, and other topical preparations has analgesic, anesthetic, and antiseptic properties. This study aimed to compare and evaluate pain perception following the topical application of peppermint oil versus lignocaine spray before an intraoral injection in children, aged 8-13 years. Method: Fifty-two children, aged between 8-13 years, who required local anesthesia for dental treatment were divided into two groups of 26 each by simple random sampling (Group 1: 0.2% peppermint oil and Group 2: lignocaine spray). In both groups, physiological measurements (e.g., heart rate) were recorded using pulse oximetry before, during, and after the procedure. Objective pain measurement (Sound Eye Motor (SEM) scale) during administration and subjective measuremeant (Wong-Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale (WBFPRS)) after LA administration were recorded. This was followed by the required treatment of the child. Physiological parameters were compared between the two groups using an independent t-test for intergroup assessment and a paired t-test and repeated-measures ANOVA for intragroup comparisons. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the pain scores. Results: Intragroup mean heart rates, before, during, and after treatment were statistically significantly different (P < 0.05). However, the intergroup mean pulse rates did not differ significantly between the two groups. The mean WBFPS score in the lignocaine spray group was 4.133 ± 2.06 was statistically different from that of the peppermint oil group (0.933 ± 1.03; P < 0.001*). The mean SEM score was significantly lower in the peppermint oil group than that in the lignocaine spray group (P = 0.006). No negative effects were observed in this study. Conclusion: 0.2% peppermint oil was effective in reducing pain perception.

  • Synchronizer ring performance is strictly required in order to extend manual transmission oil drain interval. Zn type additive, which is used as dispersant and anti-wear additive instead of SP additives in manual transmission oil, is applied to improve Synchronizing function and durability. But only Zn type additive is not suitable for high torque transmission because it has not good extreme pressure characteristics. We research on the synchronizer friction and extreme pressure properties in according to change additive types. As a result, it was found that the use of non-active extreme pressure and friction modifier additives has benefit in the improvement of synchronizer friction characteristics and durability.

모터 일체형 유압 파워 패키지의 개발 (Development of a Hydraulic Power Package Enclosed with an Electric Motor)

  • In this study, a new design of an one-body type of an unbalanced-fixed- displacement type vane pump combined with an induction type electric motor was suggested. By the application of the new design scheme, it was possible to reduce the number of parts of the pump system and to cut down the volume of power package than that of already-used products. The case in this study enabled efficient heat transfer and electricity insulation of hydraulic fluid. Thus oil moves through the inside of the package for cooling and returns to the reservoir. Because of this design, it was difficult to measure the shaft-input torque. Therefore the package overall efficiency in the paper was evaluated with a ratio of hydraulic power and electric power.

Optimization of photo-catalytic degradation of oil refinery wastewater using Box-Behnken design

  • The application of advanced oxidation for the treatment of oil refinery wastewater under UV radiation by using nanoparticles of titanium dioxide was investigated. Synthetic wastewater prepared from phenol crystals; Power Glide SAE40 motor vehicle oil and water was used. Response surface methodology (RSM) based on the Box-Behnken design was employed to design the experimental runs, optimize and study the interaction effects of the operating parameters including catalyst concentration, run time and airflow rate to maximize the degradation of oil (SOG) and phenol. The analysis of variance and the response models developed were used to evaluate the data obtained at a 95% confidence level. The use of the RSM demonstrated the graphical relationship that exists between individual factors and their interactive effects on the response, as compared to the one factor at time approach. The obtained optimum conditions of photocatalytic degradation are the catalyst concentration of 2 g/L, the run time of 30 min and the airflow rate of 1.04 L/min. Under the optimum conditions, a 68% desirability performance was obtained, representing 81% and 66% of SOG and phenol degradability, respectively. Thus, the hydrocarbon oils were readily degradable, while the phenols were more resistant to photocatalytic degradation.

半圓周形 윤활홈을 갖는 저어널 베어링의 熱效果에 관한 연구 (A Study of Thermal Effects for a Half-Circumferential Grooved Journal Bearing)

  • A parametric study of the thermal effects of a half-circumferential grooved journal bearings under aligned and misaligned conditions has been carried out by solving numerically the coupled Reynolds and energy equation system. Five different sets of boundary conditions for the energy equation have been used which include mixing between recirculating oil and inlet oil and a contraction ratio for the cavitation region. The effects of changes of the inlet oil temperature and pressure, the wall temperature and the L/D ratio have also been examined. For the range of parameters found in internal combustion engines, the mixing effectiveness at the groove and the resulting final mixture temperature have been found to be as important as the wall temperature and the heat transfer rate. The variability of the temperature, though, has been shown to smooth out the peaks of both pressure and friction during misaligned condition Distributions of friction and pressure in the oil are also examined which may be useful in attempts to reduce friction without reducing load. Results for an axial grooved bearing are also presentsed for comparision purpose.

  • Recently, we are concerned about car energy efficiency because of high Price of oil. Hybrid cars are manufactured and used. Now most cars use BLDC Motor, but these motors generate cogging phenomenon due to its frame. As a result, cars are low efficiency and occur noise and vibration. In this paper, 1KW Double Cylinder Motor which is high efficiency, low noise and vibration by its no slot structure was designed and manufactured for a Hybrid car.
