통합관리 시스템을 이용한 윤활유 페빈용기 회수 ㆍ 처리에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Collection and Transportation Processes of Used Oil Containers by Integrated Management System)

  • Used motor oil contains pollutants, including organic chemicals and meta]s. When disposed of improperly - in the trash, on the ground or in a sewer system - the pollutants may reach rivers, lakes or the ground water. Thus, all the waste oil products such as waste motor oil, waste oil container, and waste oil filter should be collected and transported for recycling or disposal by waste oil regulations. Because waste oil container is a valuable resource, waste oil containers can be reused, cleaned, buried, and burned for recycling processes. This paper presents the integrated management system that may increase the efficiency and productivity for collecting and reprocessing waste oil containers such as steel can and plastic container. The integrated management system consists of collection and transportation process management system and confirmation and certification process management system for waste oil containers.

Interface shear between different oil-contaminated sand and construction materials

  • The aim of this paper was to investigating the effects of soil relative density, construction materials roughness, oil type (gasoil, crude oil, and used motor oil), and oil content on the internal and interface shear behavior of sand with different construction materials by means of a modified large direct shear test apparatus. Tests conducted on the soil-soil (S-S), soil-rough concrete (S-RC), soil-smooth concrete (S-SC), and soil-steel (S-ST) interfaces and results showed that the shear strength of S-S interface is always higher than the soil-material interfaces. Internal and interface friction angles of sand beds increased by increase in relative density and decreased by increasing oil content. The oil properties (especially viscosity) played a major role in interface friction behavior. Despite the friction angles of contaminated sands with viscous fluids drastically decreased, it compensated by the apparent cohesion and adhesion developed between the soil grains and construction materials.

화학적 항유화제에 의한 물/비튜멘 에멀젼의 분리특성 (Characteristics of Separation of Water/Bitumen Emulsion by Chemical Demulsifier)

  • 비튜멘으로부터 효과적으로 물을 제거하기 위하여 화학적 항유화제에 의한 물/비튜멘 에멀젼의 분리를 연구하였다. 비튜멘 에멀젼을 모사하기 위해 모사물질로 엔진오일(GS Caltex Deluxe Gold V 7.5W/30, Hyundai gear oil 85W/140)과 아스팔트(AP-5, KS M 2201, (주)동남유화)를 사용하여 예비실험을 수행하였다. 그리고 오일센드로부터 추출한 비튜멘을 이용하여 실험하였다. 예비실험으로 수행된 물/오일 에멀젼의 분리실험에서 함유화제를 첨가하지 경우 에멀젼이 분리되지 않았으며, 항유화제의 농도가 낮을 때 Hyundai 엔진오일은 GS Caltex 엔진오일보다 분리효율이 높았다. 그러나 GS Caltex 엔진오일에 비해서 분리효율의 증가율은 낮았다. Hyundai 엔진오일은 GS Caltex 엔진오일보다 점도가 높아서 물의 분산이 잘 이루어지지 않았기 때문으로 판단된다. 그리고 HLB (hydrophilic-lipophilic balance) 값이 높을수록 분리효율이 높았으며, 사용된 항유화제 중 TWEEN 20 (polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate solution)이 가장 좋은 분리효율을 나타내었다.

  • Oil gear pump is used for the cooling pump system of commercial vehicle. The hydraulic pulsation pressure of oil gear pump is one of the most important reasons for the vibration and noise of the pump. In this study, the several hydraulic factors acting on oil gear motor are analyzed by CFD in operation of cooling system. Forced vibration analysis due to hydraulic pulsation pressure is analyzed by FEA for predicting deformation and equivalent stress.

공기냉각 모터내장형 주축계의 열거동에 관한 연구 (Study on Thermal Behavior of Motor Integrated Spindle With Air Cooling System)

  • Recently, motor integrated spindle is often used in a high speed spindle system of machine tools in order to increase machining speed. The important problem in high speed motor integrated spindle is to reduce thermal effect occured by motor and ball bearings. In this study, the effect of heat transfer from motor is investigated. The experimental equipment is composed with oil-air lubrication method, air cooling system and angular contact ball bearings. The results show that the thermal effect in motor is larger than in ball bearing until DmN 8000,000 with air cooling.

경유가 혼입된 엔진오일의 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Diluted Engine Oil Characteristics by Diesel Fuel)

  • An experimental study was conducted to evaluate characteristic variation of diluted engine oil by diesel fuel and its effects on engine components. Especially, engine oil was made to have $15\%$ fuel content. To predict existing diesel fuel content in engine oil after test was used the viscosity calibration curve. About $54\%$ percent of diesel fuel in diluted engine oil was distillated by various paths related to reciprocating motion of piston and the rest diesel fuel plays an important role for decreasing engine oil viscosity. Test results show that lowered engine ell viscosity by diesel fuel dilution become a reason of increasing engine elements wear, Therefore, this caused the quantity of blow-by gas to increase and main gallery pressure to decrease.

  • 일반적으로, 고체로켓모타에 대한 지상연소시험을 실시할 경우, 연소관 내부의 압력을 계측하기 위해 압력 계측용 배관에 기름을 채우고 그 끝에 압력센서를 연결하여 사용한다. 통상적으로 사용되어지는 이 방법은 지상연소시험을 실시할 경우에는 특별한 문제가 되지 않으나, 고고도 환경에서 점화되는 고체로켓모타의 압력계측은 배관 기름의 누출로 인한 점화성능 저하가 문제시된다. 이는 배관의 부착 위치가 통상적으로 전방 점화기 부위인 것에 기인한 것이며, 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 기름을 사용하지 않는 압력배관을 어떻게 설계하고 검증하였는지에 대해 기술하도록 하겠다.

Oil Film Thickness Measurement of Engine Bearing and Cam/tappet Contact in an Automotive Engine

  • The capacitance technique was used to measure the minimum oil film thickness in engine bearing and the central oil film thickness between cam and tappet. This method is based on the measurement of total capacitance of oil film. For the measurement of the oil film thickness between cam and tappet, two surfaces were assumed to be flat and parallel within the Hertzian region and all the measured capacitance originated from this region. Shear rates from the measured minimum oil film thickness are over 10$^{6}$ sec$^{-1}$ in the greater part in both two cases. The minimum oil film thickness in engine bearing is larger than the surface roughness. Between cam and tappet it is mostly smaller than the surface roughness. In spite of the awkward restriction of the reliability of measured oil film thickness, it was known that the capacitance technique makes it possible to measure the oil film thickness in elastohydrodynamic and mixed lubrication regimes as well as in hydrodynamic regime. Therefore, it is also possible to classify the lubrication regimes based on the oil film thickness.

엔진 연결봉 베어링의 최소 유막 두께에 관한 연구 (A Study, on the Minimum Oil Film Thickness of Connecting-rod Bearing in Engine)

  • The minimum oil film thickness(MOFT) in the connecting-rod bearing of a 1.5 liter, L-4, gasoline engine is measured up to 5500 rpm and calculated to study the dynamically loaded engine bearing. Short bearing approximation and Mobility method are used for theoretical analysis of oil film characteristics. And cylinder pressure, crank-pin surface temperature and bearing temperature are measured as the input data of theoretical analysis. The MOFT are measured by the total capacitance method(TCM). To improve the reliability of the test results, a reasonable determination method of bearing clearance is introduced and used, and the effects of cavitation and aeration on the test results are neglected. The crankshaft is grounded by means of a slip ring. A scissor type linkage system was developed to measure the MOFT and bearing temperature. The effects of engine speed, load and oil viscosity on the measured and calculated minimum oil film thicknesses are investigated at 1500 to 5500 rpm. From the comparison between the measured and calculated MOFT, it is found that a qualitative similarity exists between them, but in all cases, the measured MOFT are smaller than those calculated.

Phytoremediation potential of indigenous Ghanaian grass and grass-like species grown on used motor oil contaminated soils

  • This study investigated the ability of Bothriochloa bladhii (Retz.) S.T. Blake (Poaceae), Cyperus ligularis L. (Cyperaceae), Commelina erecta L. (Commelinaceae), Mariscus umbellatus (Rottb.) Vahl (Cyperaceae), Fimbistylis miliacea L. (Cyperaceae) and Torulinium odoratum L. (Cyperaceae) to clean up various levels of used motor oil (UMO) contaminated soils. The plants were grown in 2 kg garden soils treated to 0%, 1%, 5% and 10% levels of UMO contamination. The plant growth parameters, chlorophyll contents and dry weight of test plants were measured. The phytoremediation ability of these test plants were assessed by measuring the uptake of hydrocarbons in terms of total hydrocarbon content (THC) as well as their percentage degradation values. There was significant (P < 0.05) reduction in leaf chlorophyll contents and dry weights of the test plant species planted in UMO contaminated soils. THC as well as the percentage uptake (or degradation) of hydrocarbons were both lowest in C. ligularis but highest in T. odoratum in all cases. The phytoremediation potential of test plants was highest in soils contaminated with 5% UMO. Based on the results of this study, all test plants with the exception of C. ligularis were potentially capable of undertaking phytoremediation. However, B. bladhii and T. odoratum proved most effective in the uptake and degradation of UMO.
