The research analyzs characteristics of body types for the Chineses women based on the different life style and to compare the differences of body type with Korean women. The measurement had took in Beijing and Seoul in 1999. As a result of comparing Chinese and Korean women'body measurements, it was found that Chinese women are shorter and obser than Korean women. Besides, chinese arms and upper body are shorter, and their body is thicker compared with their relatively flat chest. After all, Cheinese women'chests are more voluminous, while their shoulders are drooped more, although their shoulder size is almost as same as Korean women'. By used factor analysis, 8 factors were extracted from body measurements : body obesity, vertical body size, ankle and knee sizes, head size, front upper body length, shoulder size, form and size of neck and upper chest, drooping of shoulders, and size of hip. It was found that Chinese college women are obser with larger vertical body length and front upper body length. And their shoulders are more drooped with larger hip. But two nations'female students did not show any differences in the sizes of ankles, knees, head and shoulders.
Congenital Cystic Lung Disease is a spectrum of closed related anomalies that arise during an early stage of embryonic lung bud maturation-namely bronchogenic cyst, congenital lobar emphysema, pulmonary sequestration and congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation. And they show similar surgical strategies. So they are called as the term bronchopulmonary-foregut malformations, firstly proposed by Gerle[1968]. From Aug. 1979 to Aug 1989, 47 patients were operated upon on Dept. of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery at the CUMC. There were 21 females and 26 males ranging in age from age of 21 day to age of 56 year [15 cases under 15 years old]. 30 patients had bronchogenic cysts - 23 of intrapulmonary type, 7 of mediastinal type in location. Affected lobes and locations were as follows: 11 in upper lobe, 3 in middle lobe, 11 in lower lobe and anterosuperior, middle, and posterior mediastinal type were 3, 2, 2 respectively. There were 9 pulmonary sequestrations[all intralobar type] with the distribution of 5 in right lower lobe and 4 in left lower lobe. And associated anomalies were presented with arterial supply originating from thoracic aorta[8 cases], abdominal aorta[1 case] and with venous drainage into azygos vein[1 case]. They all were operated upon lower lobectomy [8 case], pneumonectomy[1 case] in case of pulmonary hypoplasia Congenital lobar emphysema and congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation had 4 cases respectively. Their affected lobes were as follows: the former were 3 in upper lobes, 1 in middle lobe and the latter were 3 in upper lobe, 1 in lower lobe. They were treated with lobectomy and segmentectomy. Diagnosis was aided by chest X - ray, bronchography, aortography, DSA and CT scan, They all were confirmed by pathologic exams. There were no hospital death but few minor morbidities such as, atelectasis-pneumonia[2], wound infection[2], prolonged chest tube placement[2]. We experienced surgical treatments of 47 cases for 10 years and reported them with literature review.
The purpose of this research is to understand the physiological characteristics of muscular men between the ages of 20 and 34 years who are distinct from the general population due to their muscular development, and to categorize them according to upper body somatotypes. This research was conducted in order to provide basic data necessary for developing clothing products for muscular men. The research method and results were as follows: the "Sheldon's" and "Heath-Carter" somatotype classification methods were carried out at sports centers, the Athletic College, and military bases in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Excluding the 32 subjects that did not have a balanced mesomorph, ectomorphic mesomorph or mesomorph-ectomorph, research on the remaining 168 subjects was used in the data analysis. 2. We used the following factor analysis: factor 1 for torso size; factor 2 for upper-arm, armpit, and chest breath size; and 3. The upper body was categorized into four (4) types, and their individual characteristics were as follows: Type 1 had the most developed arms, shoulders, chest muscles, and the shortest height. These subjects had an average of 191 somatotype points and could be classified as a balanced mesomorph. The heights and the lengths of Type 2 were short. They had slim physical structures, averaged 182 somatype points, and could be classified as an ectomorphic mesomorph. somatotype points and were classified as a balanced mesomorph. The heights and the lengths of Type 4 were long. They had slim physical structures, averaged 164 somatotype points, and were classified as a balanced mesomorph-ectomorph. 4. After carrying out a discriminant analysis to validate the categories of muscular men's upper bodies, we concluded that our model had an accuracy rating of 98.1%.

This study is to classify somatotypes of the upper class boys in elementary school. The study is conducted through anthoropometric measurements and photometric measurements. The subjects are 320 boys in the age group of 10 to 11 years old. The following conclusions are drawn from this study. 1. The height items are increased along with age increase. The increases in the factors, which specify vertical sizes such as height and length, are a little larger than those of breadth, depth, and girth, which specify ; horizontal sizes. 2. The factor analysis on anthropometric measurements and photometric measurements reveals five somatic composition factors and those factors comprised 79.60% of total variance. 3. The torso shapes of the upper class boys in elementary school are classified into three categories. The first type is taller and heavier than the average elementary school upper class boys and has the highest rising shoulders. The shape of the back is about average and the chest is developed above average. The curvature of the lower back is gentle and lower abdomen protrudes the most of the three types. The second type is tall and slightly heavier than average and shoulders are raised a little. The shoulder blades protrude about average and the curvature of lower back is the most developed of all. The cheat is developed about average and the abdomen is a little protruding. The third type is the most common with the smallest height of the three and skinny with dropped shoulders. The chest is somewhat flat and the shoulder blades protrude about average.
The purpose of this study is to classify the type of the Korean document chest, mungab through the literature and market survey and to investigate the preference on characteristics of the mungab. It also attempts to find out the aesthetic perception of the type of mungab by using semantic differential scales. A pilot study was conducted to select the types and pictures of the mungab. Three types and six pictures of mungab were selected. Six hundred homemakers of middle and upper class residing in seoul area were selected for the survey and 449 among them were used for data analysis. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The major findings are as follows: 1) The esult of pilot test, the presentative characteristics of mungab were classified into naive type, unique type, and elaborate type. 2) it was found that the modernized style of traditional mungab was wood grain and the next one was Najonchiligi. In the characteristics of decoration which was symbolic pattern, Shi-Jang-Saeng was predominant. In wanting style when they buy, the modernized style of traditional Korean chest was predominant, too. 3) Young and low income group preferred modern style using transparent paint and Sa-Goon-Ja, letters in the symbolic patterns of decoration. Old and high income group preferred traditional style using splendid and expensive materials and Ship Jang Saeng in the symbolic decoration. 4) compared with types of mungab in aesthetic perception, modern style of the traditional mungab was evaluated more positively than traditional style. The young and low income group perceived the naive type and unique type positively, but the old and high income group perceived the elaborate type the most positively.
A 51 year-old male was admitted with the chief complaints of swallowing difficulty and pain on neck and upper chest for 2 months prior to admission: He was taken biopsy under esophagoscopy, and the result was squamous cell carcinoma. Preoperatively we studied the esophagogram and chest CT. On these, we found the main appreciable mass at midesophagus easily. But, we missed the upper cervical unexpected mass. So we performed the esophagectomy and lymph node dissection from upper clavicle level to the esophagogastric junction by thoracic approach as wide as possible, and cervical esophagostomy and feeding gastrostomy also. At that evening we reviewed the studied films in detail, and we found another mass lesion at C4-C6 level of cervical esophagus. We performed the 2nd operation e.g. cervical esophagectomy on next morning without hesitation. Between these two masses, there was almostly normally looking skip area grossly. The squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus could be multicentric in character and may have skip area. But, we heard little reports until now. The two masses could be different in origin or be same probably by submucosal spreading. Anyway, it was an alarming case to the surgeon not to neglect the another possible lesions in squamous cell type. Postoperative course was uneventful, he took G-tube feeding with no problems on 7th postoperative day. Now he took the postoperative irradiation at out patient department.
Our patient was a 2.3 kg, male of 33 weeks gestation and spontaneous vaginal delivery. Copious salivary secretion, mild aspiration pneumonia episode due to tracheoesophageal fistula and intermittent cyanotic appearance due to hypoxia were noted shortly after birth. Head up position, frequent upper pouch suction, and adequate fluid and antibiotic therapy were done in incubator. Combined Chest and abdominal film was revealed gas in the stomach and an haziness in right chest with mediastinal shift to the right side. Esophagogram revealed markedly dilated proximal esophagus as blind pouch, and Two dimensional echocardiography showed the Ventricular Septal Defect. The conclusion was congenital esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula, Vogt-Gross type C, Waterston Risk Category B. Surgical correction with Beardmore anastomosis was performed extrapleurally through 3rd rib bed after the cannulation of umbilical vein and preliminary gastrostomy. The fistula was closed by triple ligation and the upper pouch was then brought down to the presenting surface of the lower esophageal segment that incised, and end to side anastomosis was underwent using interrupt suture placed through the full thickness of both upper pouch and lower esophageal segment. The postoperative patient was well tolerated and recovered uneventfully, permitted feeding on 7th postoperative day after esophagogram.
The purpose of this study was to examine the changes brought by the upper body form using a three-dimensional human body measurement the gypsum method. The developed plane figure was constructed using paper replica to analyze the dimensional shape of the upper torso and to be able to design clothes suitable for elderly women's physical characteristics. The characteristics are analyzed and compared with existing patterns in order to extract the components for the pattern design. The examination was carried out based on the developed plane figures of upper body surface replicas. Type 1, the bent-forward body form, has a wide gap on the shoulder. In Type 2, the gap of waist line was wide at angulus scapulae point. Type 3 was the thin body form, and the girth of the chest, front interscye breadth and back interscye breadth were more level with one another, compared to the other types. In Type 4, the bent-backward body form, there was a wide gap on front shoulder. Comparison with the developed plane figure and existed pattern, items revealed differences in significance included the front and back interscye width between the measured values of the existed patterns and the developed plane figure. Therefore, the basic components of basic bodice pattern for old women were determined in the up-bust circumference and length of the back.
The purpose of this study is to collect data for he improvement of the accuracy of upper garments construction of the old whose bodies have been changed due to their age. In this study the body measurements with 61 items were taken from 226 men(aged fro m 60 to 80) living in Seoul by the R. Martin's method in 1992. The data were calculate by computer and analyzed by the multivariate method, especially factor and cluster analysis. The results of the study were as follows; 1. The average stature of elderly males was 163.6cm, chest circumference 91.6cm, waist circumference 9\\85.5cm. hip circumference 92.8cm, neck circumference 37cm, arm length 55.4 cm, back length 42.6cm, shoulder breadth 42.9cm and the Roher's Index 1.39, which was a standard body shape. 2. The items of factor analysis were explained to seven, namely, the degree of fatness of the upper body, the size of the frame of body, the length of the upper body, the degree of curve of the front body, the size of shoulder, the shape of the back, and the slope of shoulder. 3. The body types of subjects were classified into four types. The majority was type 4, which was 67% of subjects and considered as balanced body type. The distinctive features of those types are as follows; Type 1. The subjects of this type had a slight skeletal structure and were the thinnest of all the subjects with thin and forward-bent arm. Type 2. The subjects of this type were the tallest of all the subjects. they had the straightest side of body and a well-developed upper arm. The thigh length of this type was longer than the length of trunk. Type. 3. The subjects of this type was only one, so ti could be excluded. Type 4. The subjects of this type had a long trunk, well-developed shoulder, and a crook in their neck and back. The arm length and thigh of this type were short and those circumferences were thick. Type 5. The subjects of this type were the shortest of all, but had the highest degree of fatness in the waist and abdominal. They had well-developed front muscles of body and projected hip.

Upper body types were classified to develop the sizing system of the cycling wear top for the high school male cyclist. The research methods were performed using the anthropometric measurements of 111 high school male cyclists that included cluster analysis was performed. The research results are as follows. Type 1 (23.4%) has the longest biocromion length, is the tallest of the three types and a proper body type. Type 2 (25.2%) has the largest weight and developed muscles in the chest parts. Type 3 (51.4%) is the shortest of the three types and is a skinny body with a bending back. In order to develop a sizing system, the 12 anthropometric measurements were selected for correlation analysis. The bust circumference and stature were presented as the control dimensions of sizing system. The waist front, waist back length and biacromion length were less correlated with other items; consequently, they were independent items and were set as referable dimensions. Therefore, it was proposed as a sizing system because the 5 cm of bust and 5 cm of stature have a high coverage by body type. The total coverage rate was 81.9%.
