Recently, many studies for the supported liquid membrane (SLM) using a carrier have been actively reported. Polymeric cation exchange membrane was synthsized by dissolving monensin carrier of antibiotic material in organic solvent. Then the SLM was applied to the Nernst-Planck and Fick equations and membrane potential and membrane permeability were measured respectively. The results showed the high selectivity towards alkali metal ions and the SLM showed linear relationship with low concentration. However, linear relationship did not appear at high concentration. This is explained by means of the new theory of the stagnant layer and the slop of logarithm value was linear for the up-hill transport phenomena of membrane transport.
A chloroform membrane system containing a given mixture of benzylaza-12-crown-4 and oleic acid is introduced for the selective and efficient transport of $Pb^{2+}$ ion. The transport was capable of moving metal ions ‘up-hill’. In the presence of ${S_2O_3}^{2-}$ion as a suitable metal ion acceptor in the receiving phase, the amount of lead ion transport across the liquid membrane after 150 minutes is (95.0 ${\pm}$ 1.7)%. The selectivity and efficiency of lead transport from aqueous solution containing $Tl^+,\;Ag^+,\;Mg^{2+},\;Ca^{2+},\;Co^{2+},$$Ni^{2+},\;Cu^{2+},\;Zn^{2+},\;Hg^{2+}$ and $Cd^{2+}$were investigated. In the presence of thiosulfate as a suitable masking agent in the source phase, the interfering effects of $Ag^+\;and\;Cu^{2+}$ were diminished drastically.

Even though vehicle types, gradient, pavement conditions and types of pavement should be considered for estimating fuel consumption, existing models were developed as a function of vehicle types and vehicle speed. Therefore in this study, the model of fuel consumption was developed using field test data in order that effect analysis on the passenger vehicle fuel consumption by road gradient. At first, fuel consumption was measured in second-based, using GPS device and fuel consumption measurement device for development of fuel consumption model considered road gradient. The road gradient was classified as flatland, up-hill and down-hill. Development of model was using by regression model which vehicle speed(km/h) and fuel consumption(${\ell}/km$). The on-road test proved that fuel consumption of passenger vehicle is affected by road gradient.

This study examines the accuracy of large-eddy simulation (LES) to simulate the flow around a large irregular sloping complex terrain. Typically, real built up environments are surrounded by complex terrain geometries with many features. The complex terrain surrounding The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology campus was modelled and the flow over an uphill slope was simulated. The simulated results, including mean velocity profiles and turbulence intensities, were compared with the flow characteristics measured in a wind tunnel model test. Given the size of the domain and the corresponding constraints on the resolution of the simulation, the mean velocity components within the boundary layer flow, especially in the stream-wise direction were found to be reasonably well replicated by the LES. The turbulence intensity values were found to differ from the wind tunnel results in the building recirculation zones, mostly due to the constraints placed on spatial and temporal resolutions. Based on the validated mean velocity profile results, the flow-structure interactions around these buildings and the surrounding terrain were examined.
Estimations of wind flow over terrain are often needed for applications such as pollutant dispersion, transport safety or wind farm location. Whilst field studies offer very detailed information regarding the wind potential over a small region, the cost of instrumenting a natural fetch alone is prohibitive. Wind tunnels offer one alternative although wind tunnel simulations can suffer from scale effects and high costs as well. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) offers a second alternative which is increasingly seen as a viable one by wind engineers. There are two issues associated with CFD however, that of accuracy of the predictions and set-up and simulation times. This paper aims to address the two issues by demonstrating, by way of an investigation of wind potential for the Askervein Hill, that a good level of accuracy can be obtained with CFD (10% for the speed up ratio) and that it is possible to automate the simulations in order to compute a full wind rose efficiently. The paper shows how a combination of script and session files can be written to drive and automate CFD simulations based on commercial software. It proposes a general methodology for the automation of CFD applied to the computation of wind flow over a region of interest.
The effects of allelochemicals from medicinal plants have been studied as photo-synthetic inhibitor for photoautotrophic(PA) cultured cells. The extracts from 9 plant species were used for measuring the physiological effects on the liverwort cultured cell in following areas; germination inhibition, chlorophyll contents, hill activity, cell viability, photosynthetic oxygen evolution, and protein pattern changes on SDS PAGE. Germination inhibitions were detected in all plant after treating with 10% extract. Especially, treatment with 10% extract from Pulsatilla koreana and Aconitum carmichael inhibited germinations completely. Chlorophyll fornation was inhibited completely by treating PA cells with extract of Pulsatilla koreana, whose effect was similar to that of DCMU 10-3M, inhibitor for photosynthetic electron trans-fer. The treatment with extract from Pulsatilla koreana on PA cell showed the highest hill activity and the lowest cell viability among extracts studied. Oxygen releasing has been decreased down to 14-77% after treating with extracts from Pinellia ternata, Araliacont inentaila, Pulsatilla koreana and Vitex rotundifolia. Especially, 60$\mu$l of Pulsatilla koreana extract into 2ml mixture of PA cell inhibit-ed oxygen release up to 50%. Protein bands on SDS-PAGE, 14kD, 31kD, 41kD, 53kD, and 73kD, were not detected after treating Pulsatilla koreana extract on PA cells.

As of December 2016, the number of registered automobiles in Korea exceeds 21million. As a result, greenhouse gas emission by transportation sector are increasing every year. It was concluded that the development of the driving strategy considering the driving behavior and the road conditions, which are known to affect the fuel efficiency and the greenhouse gas emissions, could be the most effective fuel economy improvement. Therefore, this study aims to develop a fuel efficient driving strategy in a complex linear section with uphill and curved sections. The road topography was designed according to 'Rules about the Road Structure & Facilities Standards'. Various scenarios were selected. After generating the speed profile, it was applied to the Comprehensive Modal Emission Model and fuel consumption was calculated. The scenarios with the lowest fuel consumption were selected. After that, the fuel consumption of the manual driver's driving record and the selected optimal driving strategy were compared and analyzed for verification. As a result of the analysis, the developed optimal driving strategy reduces fuel consumption by 21.2% on average compared to driving by manual drivers.
